My canva pro does not allow me to put in eg 14.034 x 10.417. It does not allow me to enter the 0 after the decimal. It will enter 14.34 which is the incorrect size . Can you do a tutorial on that please. Much appreciated

@@maryamanees2978 hi, go to your kdp account and click on the report section. A bar/graph will show up on the day you get a sale/s :) to promote on Amazon you could do paid ads, but I haven't done those so maybe look up some videos online to help you with that :) good luck!

While I wasn't thinking of making notebooks, I'm a fantasy writer and I want to sell my books on Amazon because I'd rather not stress about publishers. I think this is a good idea, because I could probably make notebooks for myself as like a promotional item or fandom item.

This was awesome, thank you! I have made a couple KDP books (and actually had a couple sales last month) but put the template in Canva and just decreased it's opacity as opposed to putting on a new layer. I think I like your way better. Going to go try it now.
@@paulmarles hello paul, I published a couple of books at KDP each other only few hours to get published but a low content quotation book is taking forever to get reviewed. Its already over 24 hours..still under review. Why is it so? Any insights
Just a note to self: If you still see the templating notes on the spine, make sure to select the whole project then go to transparency to make sure it's set back to 100%. Otherwise you'll see it on the finished PDF
I noticed this when uploading to kdp, so I went back to fix it setting transparency back to 100%. It's still populating the same way when uploading to kdp....any suggestions? Thanks so much.
Pretty sure the “styles” option (branding colors) on Canva is only in the pro version - but SO worth the price of subscription (and it includes all the cooler graphics n pics- the background remover tool alone is worth the price of the subscription 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😎)
Styles is available on the free version, as well, but it's hidden before you use it the first time. On the left, if you click the ". . . more" button, it will give you some additional options including the styles option.
You can brainstorm for a week for all possible designs that you want to create and create a one month free canva Pro account, do all your designs and cancel the pro account if you think you do not want it anymore ;)

Ok, I watched this video twice. Then, after setting up an Amazon account and Canva account, followed your tutorial step by step (there have been some changes over this last year, but pretty easy to find) and published my first book! It's a Journal. But... still... I'm now a publisher. It only took me 2 hours. And all on my cell phone. Can't wait to see where I am in another year! This content is excellent!!! I was able to follow along and publish a journal in a very short period of time. Granted I have published a full content book on kdp in the past, however I had used a kdp template and had never created my own and you made it very easy. I bet you can create your own pages on canva with the 6x9 dimensions and download as a pdf. They have the line graphics which you put in individually which is why it was so nice of him to give us his pages for free. I wonder if you could upload his pages to canva and edit them inside there. Make sure to download as a pdf.

Hi Paul! I’ve been fallowing you for quite a while and love all your videos. I published my first 4 books in May and had sold 4 books by the first week of June...not enough to mean anything but it sure keeps me motivated and it’s a start thanks to you. I published another couple of books on June 2nd and have sold 17 copies of one of them in the last two weeks...yay!! Now, I’ve thought about advertisement but you mentioned in another video that we should wait a few months or after the books are well into the Amazon algorithm. Is it too soon to try ads on the book that has sold 17 copies in the last 2 weeks? Thanks for all you do!!
@@ogunsolakemi9666 My top seller is a Graph Paper Notebook. I imagine it's because school is about to start in many places and students need them for Math and Science. I have also sold a few of my Summer Journal and a Checking Account Register Notebook.

This was really good. Thank you for the information. However, I do find it a bit of an issue when you say you can call yourself a published author after doing it. I have been an author for years and whilst creating a notebook is a great thing to do, it does not involve back breaking work that writing does. It doesn't qualify you as an author. Books need a story and content for that.
Thanks for the great info! I’m still confused on the book part. Like when you upload it and choose the number of pages and lines etc, do you pay upfront for the journal to be printed out whenever there is a purchase ( like print on demand)? And don’t you have to set up a sellers account on Amazon and pay them fees too?
notice whenever you find videos like this who tell you how to make money they clearly avoid questions that are practical like this... I also read that unless your notebooks are incredibly creative then amazon will block and ban you from being able to sell these.

You would have to get the stickers made and books printed independently and then list them on Amazon with an Amazon sellers account.

While I wasn't thinking of making notebooks, I'm a fantasy writer and I want to sell my books on Amazon because I'd rather not stress about publishers. I think this is a good idea, because I could probably make notebooks for myself as like a promotional item or fandom item.

This was awesome, thank you! I have made a couple KDP books (and actually had a couple sales last month) but put the template in Canva and just decreased it's opacity as opposed to putting on a new layer. I think I like your way better. Going to go try it now.

Just a note to self: If you still see the templating notes on the spine, make sure to select the whole project then go to transparency to make sure it's set back to 100%. Otherwise you'll see it on the finished PDF
I noticed this when uploading to kdp, so I went back to fix it setting transparency back to 100%. It's still populating the same way when uploading to kdp....any suggestions? Thanks so much.
Pretty sure the “styles” option (branding colors) on Canva is only in the pro version - but SO worth the price of subscription (and it includes all the cooler graphics n pics- the background remover tool alone is worth the price of the subscription 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😎)
Styles is available on the free version, as well, but it's hidden before you use it the first time. On the left, if you click the ". . . more" button, it will give you some additional options including the styles option.
You can brainstorm for a week for all possible designs that you want to create and create a one month free canva Pro account, do all your designs and cancel the pro account if you think you do not want it anymore ;)

Ok, I watched this video twice. Then, after setting up an Amazon account and Canva account, followed your tutorial step by step (there have been some changes over this last year, but pretty easy to find) and published my first book! It's a Journal. But... still... I'm now a publisher.
It only took me 2 hours.
And all on my cell phone.
Can't wait to see where I am in another year! And how many more journals I will have put out. 🥰 Thank you for this!

I just created my first book, a journal and I'm still trying to to get it right with the publishing on my Amazon bookshelf. I'm sure this channel will be of great help to newbies like me.
Thank you!!! I've been trying to dip my toe into KDP for awhile. I tried following tutorials from other creators on how to make activity or coloring books. A lot of it either took too much time or had startup costs that I can't afford. I've signed up for scammy Masterclass sites recently that only want your money instead of actually teaching you.

This content is excellent!!! I was able to follow along and publish a journal in a very short period of time. Granted I have published a full content book on kdp in the past, however I had used a kdp template and had never created my own and you made it very easy. I bet you can create your own pages on canva with the 6x9 dimensions and download as a pdf. They have the line graphics which you put in individually which is why it was so nice of him to give us his pages for free. I wonder if you could upload his pages to canva and edit them inside there. Make sure to download as a pdf.

You would have to open the pdf in something like adobe illustrator or affinity designer and then add your new pages.

Hi Paul! I’ve been fallowing you for quite a while and love all your videos. I published my first 4 books in May and had sold 4 books by the first week of June...not enough to mean anything but it sure keeps me motivated and it’s a start thanks to you. I published another couple of books on June 2nd and have sold 17 copies of one of them in the last two weeks...yay!!
Now, I’ve thought about advertisement but you mentioned in another video that we should wait a few months or after the books are well into the Amazon algorithm. Is it too soon to try ads on the book that has sold 17 copies in the last 2 weeks? Thanks for all you do!!

I’ve not made a substantial amount of money but take these sales as good progress (a good sign).

This was really good. Thank you for the information. However, I do find it a bit of an issue when you say you can call yourself a published author after doing it. I have been an author for years and whilst creating a notebook is a great thing to do, it does not involve back breaking work that writing does. It doesn't qualify you as an author. Books need a story and content for that.

Thanks for the great info! I’m still confused on the book part. Like when you upload it and choose the number of pages and lines etc, do you pay upfront for the journal to be printed out whenever there is a purchase ( like print on demand)? And don’t you have to set up a sellers account on Amazon and pay them fees too?
notice whenever you find videos like this who tell you how to make money they clearly avoid questions that are practical like this... I also read that unless your notebooks are incredibly creative then amazon will block and ban you from being able to sell these.
Yeah, I'm not thinking this is 100% "free."
