Facts! Kitchen Aid is pretty much industrial, though just is a consumer-friendly product. Those grinder attachments are legit.
@@Donm22 The plastic grinder is a little iffy, I have one myself. It can be problematic. If you can get the metal version, you will love it.
@@kendobc you can also chuck the metal one in the freezer, which can help with the texture of the meat
@@kendobc got the metal grinder when I was working at William Sonoma, and absolutely love it! The biggest drawback of the plastic grinder/pasta attachment was its difficulty to clean.
Or just ask the butcher to grind it before you buy it?

I kinda want to see the look on the butcher's face if I have them cut me a 2in thick dry aged ribeye and then grind it. I can only imagine they'd be horrified.
I work in a supermarket at the meat department... I have had people ask me to grind ribeye... I do it. I judge them and what I think about them isn't nice.

I desperately need someone to tell me how you clean and sanitize a meat grinder
So, I worked in a butcher shop and specifically worked the grinder to make sausages and grind pork and beef and venison and stuff. Its as simple as taking the machine apart and washing it like you would wash anything else you use. Use a cloth or a scraper to remove any excess or built up product. Use steel wool or like, a scotch bright pad. Super simple.
You clean it and then sanitize it
Hot soapy water is all I ever use to clean, after a good rinse in hot water. I scrub inside and out with a brush, rinse again and air dry on a drying rack next to the sink. No problems in over 40 years.
You aren't meant to clean them you're supposed to buy a new one after every use
So, were you assuming meat grinders were made of one solid piece of forged steel, or did you forget that things can be disassembled?

I love that onions.... i make them from red onions, with dark balsamico vinegar, honey and butter... sweet sour creamy 👌
Protip, mix your caramelized onions with finely-cut raw onions when making burgahs. About half as much per volume compared to the cooked onions.
Give you a crunch a lot of hamburgers like these tend to lack, plus that raw-onion punch that comes late on the tongue.

Overall, I'd love this. Unfortunately, I can't eat onions. Onions taste great, but I'm allergic to them.
Replace the onion with celery or red pepper sprinkled with Asafoetida an indian spice that hindu practicioners use to replace onion and garlic since some practices forbid it.

I'd argue that a Steakhouse Style Burger needs a funky cheese, like Swiss or Blue Cheese, to really round out the flavors from the steak and onions.
Any other type of Burger, Mild Cheddar will almost always be first choice for type of cheese
