- DC Animation has consistently been a beloved medium for adapting classic DC Comics stories. Series such as Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League Unlimited, Teen Titans, Young Justice, and Batman Beyond have emerged as some of the most popular DC cartoons. However, as time has passed, there seems to be a noticeable decline in the overall quality of DC Animation. The current DC Animated Movie Universe, known as the TomorrowVerse, is expected to conclude with the Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths trilogy in 2024. Inspired by DC Comics source material, this trilogy will feature a wide array of characters from the DCU multiverse, including Batman, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and many more. The closure of this universe is likely due to the emergence of James Gunn's DCU and its highly interconnected nature, marking a departure from the structure of the DCEU. There are a plethora of DC Comics stories that have yet to be adapted like Batman Knightfall, Kingdom Come, and Wonder Woman Hiketeia.

The reason why the DCAMU (both the Warverse or the Tomorrowverse) both ended so soon was because Warner Bros forced the animation team to limit their movies. With the Warverse limited to 16 movies and the Tomorrowverse 10.

Instead of a live action DCAU we got the Depressed Clinically Extended Universe. I never got the hype of the Snyderverse it was boring. I fell asleep during most of the films. DC deserves better than the Edgelord.

Another one they could also do is when The amazons declare war on mankind which ends up in diana choosing humanity over them and their old ways, she even straight up gives up her title of an amazon and is banished from entering paradise island

Some DC animated movies I'd love to see are a New Gods movie, a Green Lantern movie that adapts the Sinestro Corps War arc, and Superman Smashes the Klan
I would rather see a movie where the Green Lantern Corps fight the Red Lanterns or a movie where The Flash is trapped in Gorilla City for the entire movie.
A new gods movie (or a mister miracle movie) would go hard, especially if they stay close to Kirby's visuals.

If you do, please do a part 2 to this. Like you said there are so many comics that can be adapted into a movie or show, and I'd love to hear your take on them. One that I personally would love to see adapted is Geoff Johns run on Teen Titans. I grew up on that story and hold it near and dear to my heart.

Tim Drake being Gohan is crazy accurate. You can put Wally West as the Flash in that boat, too.
I would also love to see a Justice League movie the last ones we got are more of DC Hero movies and a Trinity movies. The last JUST Justice League movie we got was Throne of Atlantis in 2015.
After seeing that Kamandi Showcase short, I would love to see more of that character. I love how the animal people see Superman as a godlike figure and Kamandi knowing about Superman and the quest to find him and possibly fix the world.

Firstly DC animated movies need to be more faithful to what they’re adapting as they’re trying to one up the original with creative liberties and art styles resulting in a worse retelling

Hell yeah! I don't mind a few characters being added to keep within the time period, but they've taken too many liberties in some cases.
Something I’d really like to see is an animated Wonder Woman movie with Grail (the daughter of Darkseid) as the antagonist, because I feel there’s a lot more that they could have done with her than they did in all of her appearances combined.
She was born at the same as Diana was, something I found interesting, but it was ultimately just a fun fact and didn’t really matter. And she didn’t really seem to have much of a relationship (I mean something like rivalry) with Diana as I would have wanted her to. Apparently her and her mother were the first Amazons to leave the island, which is why nobody knew she existed, but what if for the animated movie it was changed to where she was imprisoned at birth because the other Amazons feared the prophecy that spoke of how she would cause untold destruction when she grew?
Now with that part of her origin changed, imagine Diana learns of Grail’s existence and, being the kind and caring person she is, frees her and unknowingly helps to fulfill the prophecy. Grail might have resentment toward her father for never coming to free her, and would then try to kill not only the Amazons but Darkseid as well. During her personal war, cities would be caught in the crossfire and Wonder Woman (maybe with help from some other heroes) would be forced to stop her.

The Dark Knights of Steel would be perfect.
Watchmen will supposedly be a big leap forward for DC animated movies as far as production value since it will be all CG. This could mean they might make Kingdom Come since the reason they haven’t attempted it yet is because the Alex Ross art style is so important to the story and that can’t be translated into 2d animation. It would either have to be live action or high budget CG, so if Watchmen’s CG looks good then that gives me hope.

any aquaman movie with him on the throne. It feels like we only get an origin story or him as a villain
This is going to be a weird one because of how much context they would have to put into it, but Flash War.
One: It gives our boy Wally his due
Two: It shows the non-comic DC fans that there are multiple Flashes by having two of them side-by-side
Three: It could capitalize on the whole "Barry vs Wally" arguments that happened a few years ago and still sparsely happen today
Four: I am not a fan of the random rewriting they do...but, the rewrites to Under the Red Hood were good, and an end to Flash War that doesn't lead to Heroes in Crisis? Of shortcutting to the end of Death Metal where Barry makes Wally the main Flash, again? Heck, get Joshua Williamson to rewrite his own story. He's already writing everything else in DC Comics.

I can’t believe DC hasn’t adapted the Geoff Johns’ GL trilogy. Rebirth (with an intro summary of Emerald Twilight), sinestro corps war and Blackest Night would be epic movies.
Kingdom Come, Blackest Night, Sinestro Corps War maybe, a slightly more intricate adaptation of the Starro attack that leads to the creation of the Justice League, Superman smashes the Klan too, and maybe that story where Superman fights the Kryptonian goddess Cythonna too.

Sad that there aren’t anymore plans at the current moment for an interconnected animated universe. As it seems will just be getting animated projects tied to the new DCU and standalones. I would like to see a movie where it shows Dick leaving and then Batman finds Jason and makes him his Robin, then we see a couple of crimes they stop, then they show us Jason dying. Like a prequel to under the Red Hood. Also, we never see Jason as a Robin really, how about a movie with him as the main Robin. Especially since all DC wants to do is reboot the universe all the time.
I need to be honest, Alex Ross’ artwork demands live action. And at that it requires suits similar to Reeve and West’s forays into DC.

I would honestly love to have a flash year one adaptation it was a story by Joshua Williamson and is retelling of Barry Allen's origin and early days as the flash it has some super emotional moments and is a really good showing of why Barry is my favorite flash if the story was more streamlined i think it would make for a great movie

I hope Invincible popularizes the idea of actually full on adapting comics like manga to anime
I would of course love to see Kingdom Come but I can see that being a story that James Gunn himself looks to as a possible way to wrap up his tenure if his DCU manages to be successful and last for the next two decades. I can imagine secretly that story being his north star to end on. I don't think he would want to end the story with Crisis on Infinite Earths because the story has been done twice already.
I certainly want them to go back to the adaptation of books that they can update and get to make changes where need be like under the red hood did. But not be forced to be constrained inside having to fit it into an established universe. At the same time I wish DC would do what manga does. Imagine a tv show that was based on Scott Snyders entire Batman run starting with the court of owls ending with the last knight on Earth. That could be where the interconnected stuff happens, by making other shows set in the same universe like the timmverse was. You want a Flash animated show? Joshua Williams run has you covered. Not every run have been as successful as those two were but they could adapt stories that wouldn't make sense to make into a movie because it's either too short or too long. They could mix and match a little if Gunn was to hire someone to do for those show what Berlanti did for the Arrowverse.
If Marvel ever decides that they want a successful spiderman show that would be able to create competition for Spectacular Spider-man its just one decision away and they could adapt Ultimate Spider-man even though they already did an Ultimate spider-man tv series before they got him in the MCU, and thought "what if we made Spider-man into PG deadpool?" Really great idea. Much better to end the only animated show that was able to stand shoulder to shoulder with DC at a time when the MCU was the king of live action movies but DC ruled in the animation and live-action TV department.
And giving some love to games, a YJ style tv shows adapting Arkham and Injustice may be awesome
I know we're still going to get The Batman Who Laughs soon, which means we're going to slog through another multiverse story, however. I'm DOWN TO KINGDOM COME, which could be a great stand alone, even a multi part film.

We need more tv shows and movies, cause some stories can be adapted one or a few movies, but others need a lot more, and not all have to be unrelated, same way the Green Arrow short was made part of Young Justice, so let´s start
1. First I need more seasons of Young Justice
2. Earth 2, from the movie of Superman ve Wonder Woman, to Justice Society movies or show, to Infinity Inc (yes, my Earth 2 it´s pre-crisis) and besides an animated movie, the Stargirl show (thatt was Great), and few mentions other places )Smallville, Arrowverse, Young Justice or Black Adam) the first superhero team don´t get the love they deserve
3. Green Arrow and the Arrow family need a full show, as dark as they are in the comics, adapting Mike Grell take on the characters, move them to Seattle, please, to a lot of Great Green Arrow stories (if they want to start with Hal and Oliver´s trip to USA no complaints about that, a lot of things are actually as bad as they were in the 70.s)
4. Something similar goes for Wonder Woman, if you want to tell a few stories about her, yeah, I can think of a good short stories, but I have to agree she deserves a whole show
5. Green Lantern corps, a whole new show or to continue the old one, another reason for more seasons of Young Justice, if they want to continue exploring the DC Universe, and finally bringing Tamaran and the Omega men, more Thanagar and Lantern Corps, with such a big Universe and so many aliens, so little has been carried to the animation... talking about YJ, besides of missing Starfire and Raven there I also want more Themyscira

A faithful Knightfall would be GOAT. They can base it on the novelization and keep the best arcs from the comics.

The harley quinn show actually loosely adapted no man’s land when in season 2 gotham was declared no longer a part of the US and the villains split it up into their own territories
also had the active bat family of the time trying to help those they could and while cassandra wasn’t introduced in it barbara was in her place
They should do an adaptation of the Joker devil's advocate which was done by the guys who did knightfall it was made as a response to the killing joke.

To be honest, I'd rather see some DC comic stories be adapted into animated series because doing it in a series format gives you more time to tell the story than in film format.

Fr they do need to do more adaptations of more storylines of the dcau and dcamu pls and stop focusing so much on the live action acspet of the characters noe maybe I’m a little biased because of the dcau and dcamu are my favorite adaptations of these characters like Batman , Superman , supergirl , back canary , etc
