It’s insane how many people even misunderstand even the games themselves. Real Superman literally shows up at the end and says damn wtf is wrong with this Superman
7:00 In Invincible, Atom Eve as someone who doesn't wear masks while doing super heroics mentions in school saying, *"It's a psychology thing. If you don't expect to see a superhero in your school, you don't see a superhero in your school.”*
Ig but it's compared to other superheroes who hide there identity His comes off as oh the people are just dumb. Like cw flash changed the vibration of his vocal cords and wears a mask Batman has a mask and sometimes uses a voice changers Green arrow has a hood and used grease paint along with a voice changer. That's just me I get the science behind it hiding in plan sight and all but just glasses and a posture change I feel ain't doin much but that's just me 🤷♂️
It’s crazy that people will say “Superman is boring and not relatable to the general audience” as if Smallville isn’t still like the longest running superhero show to date
These people do not understand that it is not always the physical characteristics we relate to, but the characters themselves but their actions, personalities, ideologies at times, even flaws.
"Superman isn't relatable" - He is relatable, because he shows everyone that anyone is capable of doing good. If you help an old lady across the street or as simple as giving your seat to an elderly... You ARE Superman
Superman has a 9 to 5 job, lives in an apartment, gets snubbed by the girl he likes, and is constantly made fun of by one of his coworkers Batman, however, is a billionaire with a loyal butler, is able to adopt kids left and right with no questions asked, knows every language, every martial art, can outsmart literal gods, can have sex with any woman he wants, and is able to sleep in all day without risk of losing his job. And Superman is the unrelatable one.
I can agree that Superman gives people hope and he is a symbol of all good people can be. But I have never seen people like superman. I mean...I can imagine Peter Parker being a real guy but not Superman. He is too optimistic
People forget that Superman is less of a God amongst men and more of the embodiment of the idea of hope and Corage and Good. Good writers can give Superman a relatable character and consistent but a truly compelling writer can show people what Superman really is, an idea, an idea that everyone has the power to do good. He is the Story Of Superman after all, he is the Achetypal form of Heroism made Human. And has been for many Decades. I'm sad that people just don't know who Superman is and what he represents.
Being a Superman fan is quite an interesting thing. Comics, Cartoons, and Live Action TV are hitting, yet the masses still behind. People thinking Superman is outdated, yet rock with Captain America and All Might.
@NHTube1 Batman faces people every night with bombs, knives, guns, and lethal toxins, all things that can kill him, yet beats these people on a nightly basis. Superman does what Batman does. He outsmarts the opposition.
As a former superman hater I think it's cause they felt more grounded than him if that makes sense. All 3 stand for basically the same stuff but with all might specifically he had a glaring weakness that made his messages that much more hopeful. Compared to man of tomorrow who seems to not have any at all.
Superman is boring because he’s a goody to shoes Me: but u like Spider-Man, captain America, Optimus prime, all might, etc Superman is to powerful Me: u like hulk Thor etc Superman wins to much Me: literally all ur favorite heroes win all the time
I remember one time I had to explain to my coworkers when we were talking about Superman that it wasn't about the power he possessed, but what he does with it and what he stands for.
Superman has sooo many super-powers: at least 12. Supes rogue's gallery is very small at best. The last 4 Superman films have under-performed at the box-office,the last 2 had Reeves starring in them. The last 2 modern films also under=performed: Superman Returns and Man of Steel. I wish Gun all the luck with his version of Supes,he's gonna need it. LOL. Superman films have a bad track record at the cinema.
That's not necessarily true. All of them grossed well, Batman Begins wasn't a monster hit either. The Dark knight and the dark knight rises where the ones that REALLY made the money. The Man of Steel and Superman returns made profits and did fairly well at the box office. Superman usually does fairly well. If a movie doesn't make more than half a billion or a billion doesn't mean it's not a success. Ya'll get to hype with these numbers. Batman Begins: grossed 370 million off a 150 million dollar budget. Superman Returns: earning $391.1 million worldwide on around $204 million budget. For the most part fairly close. Just some perspective.
@@allahumaameen Superman Returns earnings didn't warrant a sequel, just like Man of Steel, poor gate receipts.Like I said the last 4 Superman films bottomed out at the box office, don't know what the deal is with Superman films,under-performing at the cinema.Good luck Mr Gun with the new Superman movie,I think it'll under-perform too.
@@kerry-j4m it wasn't that the film didn't WARRANT a sequel based off the box office. It was more that they were wanting to move to an established universe with a reboot after the MCU moving towards the Avengers after the success of Ironman and Dark Knight coming to an end friend. As far as the James Gunn stuff, I don't care much about those statements
Also MoS was a huge success of over 1/2 billion before marketing. I'm providing receipts my dude, you are just kinda talking without anything to back up your statements.
One common opinion that is currently annoying me is that people want Superman to constantly be smiling. This is an over correction to Cavill’s Superman since he was always unsure of himself and sad. But Superman is usually posing in a stoic way with a serious expression.
If he smiled all the time i bet it woild be like Vash, a fake smile so people thinm everything is fine and nothing is bothering him, a smile to lets the kids who see him be at ease no matter what burdens he has.
It seems so common to hear that superman is overpowered from Batman fans. Which is ironic because in the same argument they'll say that Batman can be anyone with "prep time". 🙄 make it make sense.
As a Batman fan myself it’s very obnoxious to One of the major appeals to bats is he’s human and humans make mistakes he isn’t excluded from that So yes while if he had prep it does help but that’s not always a guarantee he can or will be someone or something
@@leejee88 I get what ur saying But it does makes since for him to have prep to begin with but when it comes to some fans abusing that idea of him having it then it becomes a problem
Even mote ironic that Batman fanboys will do mental gymnastics to convince themselves and other people how Batman can unrealistically beat opponents stronger than him but throw a hissy fit at SSKTJL where the Suicide Squad unrealistically beats Batman
For the people saying that Superman is too strong and you are forced to use gimmicks to kill him like kryptonite i have a very basic response: "Doomsday killed Superman by beating the shit out of him...no lasers, no kryptonite, no magic, just a 1 v 1 fight"
"Superman is overpowered" That's why he has so many villain's on par with him, you create a powerful MC, you give him powerful enemies. His archenemy literally has his weakess in a pocket. "He's boring" Please just read a superman comic run
His weaknesses are too inconsistent sometimes they work or he just powers through them he also is way too op beating up gods & also fighting a kryptonite doomsday like come on bro 🙄 he shouldn’t stand up to that. And comic characters in general have too many issue 1s so people just give up/ don’t care anymore on trying to read, also comic books are expensive too. Plus he is always right & always wins I never seen him suffer a permanent loss or is wrong about something.
@@Starman.2957 the K-Doomsday was an Elseworlds and he did fall...he became sick and went mad....then infected Batman who did the same to the mainline DCU and laughed.
@@Starman.2957 How can you say that "he's always right" and "I've never seen him suffer" even though you just admitted you don't read comics. The reason they have so many issue 1s is so you can start where ever, like New 52 or Rebirth, even the current 2023 run is great and you can hop onto that from It's issue 1, you make it sound hard even though it's really not. "He's too op beating up gods" that's not a good agruement, you can write a powerful protagonist and create a good story, it's called writing. If you think he's not good because he's "OP" then you must hate other shows that have a powerful protagonists aswell.
"Nice suit." "Thanks! My mom made it for me." That is *_the_* most Clark Kent response I've ever heard from Superman, it's so silly and it makes me smile.
I always found the "superman is a boring character" is just a smooth brain take consider there are tons of superman stories that hold up to this day and i'm not talking about the iconic ones. I like the Alex ross one where he went to a different country to give the poor some resources but the corrupt military stood their ground knowing he cant be in to places at once and sups reluctanly leaves. The worst thing you can say is the it's hard to write or even adapt superman even though you got superman copy cats and you can do so much with his character such as challenging/pushing his morality. Hell you can have him go through trials like his intelligence, explore om his culture (i didnt see krypton or superman and lois forgive me) Create some dynamic relationship between him and his cousin. Have him kidnap and he fights in a galactic tournament (basically WW hulk]
Superman doesn't have interesting struggles, doesn't have an interesting personality and his powers are too many to be interesting. I actually liked him better when he could just jump, run fast, be bulletproof (but not mortar proof), lift heavy things and punch hard. Saying that people that find him boring are smooth brained and uncalled for, it achieves nothing besides creating animosity torwards the people that like superman
@@elfascisto6549 Pretty sure dude listed the many struggles he actually faces he maybe powerful but he can't do everything and has faces plenty of foes he often struggles with. I even brought up the one with Alex ross How does he not have an interesting personality. And do you mean in the comics or animation and live action because in the comics ya he's broken. In live action So basically Hulk? it ain't uncalled for if it's true, imagine if i said the same about Flash (Barry or Wally) not having struggles, his powers are OP and his personality is bland when that's simply not true
@@elfascisto6549 Doesn't have an interesting personality? Buddy do you only watch the movies? Superman has a great personality in the comics and animated shows.
IMO that is my favorite superman movie and i always wanted a superman movie base on it. Thou i think adding 1 big bad would be better. I think the alex ross run's with batman, shazam and supes should have been the foundation of the dceu even copying it exactly then lead up to kingdom come
I am a Superman fan, I became a Superman because Superman is the only reason that I am still alive today, he saved me from taking my own life and helped me to overcome my depression when a tragedy happened in my family, I still remember those days, it really broke me from the inside, I couldn't study, sleep or eat, I failed back 2 back in my 6th semester, but his stories and his way of solving problems taught me how to endure the worst days, he gave me hope, I am so glad that a character like Superman exists til today even after 85 years. I am literally indebted to him and DC in general every DC character like Batman, and Flash has taught me some valuable life lessons.
I will never forgive Synder for ruining Doomsday. He's a character you could make a whole movie about but instead he appears in the last few minutes and does barley anything. Just like Venom from Spiderman 3.
Don't forget him trying to regain the fans' goodwill by saying BvS's Doomsday was a fake, and the real one is still out there. He crapped the bed badly.
Imo if he felt he needed a character to have a fight with Batman and Superman at the end he should of choose Metallo. He's a Superman villian that fought those two alot in other media and has work with Lex also. @@thememeguy2195
Omniman and homelander are just as powerful as they should be because at least they are not almost destroying reality or going beyond infinity or something but goku yeah I agree he’s stupid strong but saitama is kinda tricky because he’s meant to be a gag character and not to be taken seriously.
@@Starman.2957Saitama isn’t a gag. He has serious moments, arcs, conflict and complex relationships. His major conflict at the beginning of the story is being depressed because he’s too strong.
Or Batman. Who's plot armor is JUST as strong as Superman's. The only difference is Batman's means of accomplishing what he does often makes less sense.
yeah those people dont know what they are talking about. thou i think its because goku and one punchman strived to be powerful. Superman only needed to absorb sun and he is as powerful as anyone of those guys
@@Ghostface833he can be a gag character and still have compelling character traits. Just because he isn't a one note joke machine doesn't mean his ability to pretty much destroy anything with a single punch isn't meant to be a joke.
Superman Vs. The Elite changed my mind on Superman. I enjoyed the Donner films when my dad put them on but they didn't hit with me that much. I think it was was just Clark talking to his dad for advice that got me. Then Superman showing how terrifying he could actually be and how easy it would for him to be just like them before revealing it was all a ruse. It showed me that even with all his power how hard he has to try to not go too far. How hard he has to restrain himself and how a weaker person wouldn't do that because it's easier/quicker. Sure I can't relate to the power Superman has but I can relate to that. That struggle to do the right thing to do it correct even if it's hard. Instead of taking the easy option that can hurt others or yourself. I don't know. I know you could argue that's true with many super heroes but seeing that made me rethink Superman and seeing the Injustice style superman so often now. The one that Superman Vs. The Elite showed the exact opposite of, it just gets annoying.
The amount of disrespect Supes and Dick Grayson has gotten be it in comics or other media is insane. It's like DC's really just trying to destroy just overall hope-filled and genuine well meaning characters. Like Superman's not even one of my favorites but the amount of pure disrespect for a well meaning character is criminal. Like he's either an evil bastard (injustice) looks like an incompetent leader (Dark apkolopis war) or both (SSKTJL)
"you look like Superman!!" My man, how TF did you see the face of a Blurred blue man flying around at 100MPH 6 stories high in the air?!? Scratch that, what's stopping Clark from assuming that mofo is Superman? Their vision seems good enough to see a Bullet fly by!
Like i said before my favorite version of superman is having him teaching his son Jonathan Samuel Kent superboy being his little 10 year old self and learning how become a hero similar to his father is amazing, and it drives me crazy that people think superman is a idiot which no that's bullshit on so many levels it ain't even funny but just sad and depressing in my opinion.
People will call Superman OP but then claim Batman is more relatable and realistic while also being able to beat anyone…. You can’t have it both ways guys he’s either one or the other
I hate it when people say Batman is relatable and realistic he's not. The only thing relatable about Batman is that he's human. Batman fanboys belong in Arkham Asylum. I love Batman but his fanboys are deranged.
Probably my favorite dumb opinion is "He's too stwong." or "He's to boring.", or "boyscout characters are lame.". Like we've had a whole decades worth of well received Captain America movies and recently, the character Cyclops finally became popular. All the general public needs to see is a well written Superman story that portrays him as great character.
Ok? Do you also love The Acharnians, which is like the first recorded play, a.k.a like one of the earliest pieces of fiction ever? Because if it wasn't for that, then Superman wouldn't exist. You don't need to like something out of an obligation, and I can for sure critique Superman for being boring despite him being influential.
Good video. At his best Superman as a character is just a regular guy who wants to help people if he can. Powers or not he'd help people, be it helping someone carry groceries or helping people in an accident or disaster.
A close friend of mine said that Superman was boring because he had no motivation to help people and wasn’t relatable and yet one of his favorite characters is unicron from transformers who is a character that is literally pure evil and nothing else no emotion no character to an extent it’s strange how people can grasp simple villains but not heroes who literally just like helping people Like yea supes isn’t the most relatable but as a normal dude I get why he does what he does it’s not like he is complicated
Thank you so much for airing out these god awful takes on Superman. He's been my #1 favorite superhero forever and seeing so many people hate him for the most braindead and misguided reasons always troubled me.
yeah and people will bitch and complain without seeing the true superman. I love Superman as a kid. Superman, as character, doesn't give up and see good in people even though it is wrong
I think it's because of the vocal toxic batman fans, they said it's impossible to play a superman game but know nothing about his character and the villains, I hope the current management ignores them because the previous one made batman the center of attention
Bro the trunks make his suit so much better. The trunks separate the blue so much better, and makes him look like he's wearing clothes instead of just tight coveralls.
@@DahGabriel-gk2cr I mean when you have over 20 videos on TH-cam, all bitching about how people who say that Superman is boring are just stupid and uninformed, and then lack the ability to describe what makes Superman interesting beyond typical "he wants to do good because he was raised good" or whatever tf, then yeah, of course I'll make fun of yall for it.
@@tananatana4011 Superman’s appeal lies in his complex struggle with his identity, his moral choices, and the hope he represents. Dismissing him as boring ignores the depth and nuance that have made him an enduring and inspiring figure for generations.
@@DahGabriel-gk2cr Just saying his struggle with his identity is "complex" doesn't instantly make it complex. Also wdym struggle? Isn't the whole selling point from Superman fans that Clark is Clark first and Superman second as he grew up as a normal farmboy and only later on developed powers? How does that make sense then? His moral choices but ALSO the hope he represents? How? You can't have a character whose entire purpose is being the archetypal inspiring hope and then pretend like he struggles with morality, Superman ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT struggle to remain moral, it's in his nature, he was raised to be moral. I just fail to recognize that depth and nuance you and other Superman fans insist upon so consistently, and it's not like I haven't read comics and watched cartoons, I'd make a guess that I know more about Superman than an average guy in this comment section.
I will give Suicide Squad some credit. I do actually think Superman willing to go in good faith to Brainiac makes some sense, since they've never met him. It seems a little naive, but his reasoning makes _some_ amount of sense. But at the same time, he should have let Batman create some contingency strategies. Its not exactly a secret in this timeline that Batman has his paranoia plans. Just let him prep time you guys some anti-tentacle weapon so you won't get caught off guard if and when Brainiac tries to betray you.
I agree with you a bit but I still think he would have at least an instinct on whether someone had good intentions or not and would investigate them at least, I can't remember it fully but this reminds me literally on Superman: TAS, when Braniac showed up and claimed he wanted to spread knowledge or whatever and Supes at first tried the diplomatic approach like everyone else but also investigated and found out the truth and then kicked Brainard tooshie off Earth. Which makes the recent DC game tick me off even more.
@@tabaributler2225 I did say _some_ credit, not necessarily _a lot_ of credit. Him being empathetic to another alien, especially this version of Brainiac since he's the last surviving member of his planet, makes sense. Him going in without a plan, beyond talk no jutsu, does not. The other Leaguers not (metaphorically) slapping sense into him when he insists on it makes them stupid by proxy.
Some adaptations of superman feel to high on themselves, like telling you to follow the rules not because it's the right thing to do but because its the law , like a robot. Also some versions of superman feel to inconsistent in strength , i know superman is more than just his powers , but i hate it when his strength just jumps all over the place for the plot .
as a superman fan i do think some of his character needs to change, like for example his plot convenient powers, I think we need to get rid that he gets powered by the Sun trait. Its too convenient of a power source. I think there needs to be an innovation to how he gets stronger and why it kinda fades after a long battle.
I'll definitely admit as I got older I started to love superman and understand him more I'm only 21 so I grew up in the era where Batman was pushed more than Superman but after seeing Lois and klark and reading actually good comic adaptation of him he definitely one of the bros
@@MILDMONSTER1234 For me that's all of Dragon Ball. The power level garbage went off the rails in the Namek Saga with being able to destroy whole planets, I was able to make it through the Cell Saga because I liked the Cyborgs and it was a nice throwback to the Red Ribbon original series arc and a handing over the torch moment for Gohan, but everything from Boo onwards bored me, Beerus included. Only exception is the new Broly movie, that one surprised me in a good way. Superman stories at least have no constantly increasing power level, though it of course fluctuates from writer to writer, like with every superhero ... I like him best when he outsmarts his opponents instead of using his god mode powers to simply pummel them into the ground, which is what DBZ onwards mostly boils down to and makes Goku a boring prodigy for me.
Funny how basically every argument people have on why Superman is supposedly boring and lame ends up sounding exactly like something Lex would literally say
@@Theleaver5088 Most TV/movie writers and directors would find it unbelievable and uninteresting to have villains just be left tied up in front of city hall.
I admit I was on the Superman is boring and I don’t like him train for a long time. However, in the last couple of years I watched Superman and Lois, some dcau Superman stuff, and smallville and the more I watched the more I realized how watching an op man like supes having to deal with being human everyday is the appeal of the character. His struggles as Clark Kent is way more compelling knowing he is Superman.
@@karimdavis7065 I haven’t read much Superman yet but isn’t the juxtaposition between him as Clark and him as Superman a big part of the character even in the comics?
i think they should just nerf his speed and destructive power a bit for video games. While kratos is indeed very powerful he ain't the type to just punch the planet and the planet explodes.
What is funny is that the op argument is very hypocritical because the same people who complain that Superman is too OP, they love characters who are just as or more OP and have beyond broken abilities. One of the big problems with Superman not getting the same amount of respect as Batman and Spider-Man is like you said there isn't enough Superman exposure. DC has a problem with using Batman way too much, that's a problem for other DC characters John Constantine had a show but it was canceled due to low audience and poor ratings. DC needs to show their more underrated characters and give them the spotlight for once.
Yah i think thats the problem with DC they often rely on batman, its like their creativity went bankrupt. maybe its time for batman to have his own universe.
Nobody can really say Superman's character is "outdated" when heroes and heroism itself isn't outdated. Characters like Captain America and Spiderman don't get called outdated characters despite having the similar sorts of morals and hopes as Superman... Hopeful heroic characters aren't outdated, no certain character archetype is outdated. It all depends on the execution and that can effect any character with their iterations. Superman just suffers the most because in all honesty he's not been focused on ever unless it's a vs match up. There's alot more focus on his powers than himself, which is very evident with many superman clones that are evil like Brightburn or Homelander that only have his powers. Adventures with Superman do a good job with the man and not just the powers. Superman is indeed a character that should be getting a game and more, like imagine instead of SSKTJL we had an Arkham Superman game.
I always hoped we could get an Arkham-like Superman game where we could do multiple combos one the ground or the air with all the different powers at his disposal, heck they could probably incorporate some DMC/Bayonetta/GOW/Hulk: Ultimate Destruction elements to use and take inspiration from. Like I don't think many realize how much potential a Superman actually has, literally imagine DBZ Kakarot but with elements like those and Arkham included but for Superman, the possibility are freaking endless. Yet we get games like Suicide squad smh 🤦 😪 😒 😔.
Don't think Captain America is really that popular. Spider-Man has a similar basic morality and motivation to Superman but despite that he has and goes through a lot more struggles.
@suarezguy really? Cause I love it when his insecurities and fears are brought out for us to see. It proves that he's not perfect as many haters seem to love to say. Even then, he does go through struggles, maybe even more so than Spidey if you wanna really think about it.
I blame Injustice for popularizing an Evil Superman and I blame Snyder for looking at the comic, seeing that Lois died make him turn evil, and making that part of his version of the character.
My biggest gripe with these opinions is the "People should realize Clark Kent's Superman". It's flawed logic because it's coming from the viewer's perspective. _We_ know Clark Kent's Superman because _we're_ reading _his_ stories. The common citizen of Metropolis will not know who Clark Kent is, let alone what he looks like. They see his name in the Daily Planet newspapers. They are more likely to know Lois Lane, who constantly puts herself in danger for her scopes. Based off this, it'd be like asking New Yorkers who Jane Doe over on 15th is. Unless you run into those who know her, you're going to get weird looks or distrusting Nos. Clark Kent is only Superman because we, the audience, know. To an average Metropolis citizen, Superman is Superman; no secret identity.
I loved the fact the First Image from James Gunn's Superman(2025) was him suiting up like me heading off to work yet the Snyder Cultists decried yeah tell them go watch Rebel Moon Also Tenoch Huerta Namor wore A Speedo and Classic Loki wore a Codpiece recently Superman with his Underpants should be welcomed .
Imo, Tom Welling's Clark Kent is the most relatable Live-Action Superman adaptation, because he's basically like Peter Parker, like school problems, money problems, like the problems he faced has the same problems every teenagers has
I loved the Christopher Reeves Superman movies as a kid, but I thought Superman was lame outside of that...until I read The Death of Superman & Reign of the Superman in my teens. Superman has been one of my favorite superheroes ever since, even thought I personally like the Kon-El Superboy and Mr. Majestic from Wildstorm better. Superman was always pretty relatable to me, especially in the Smallville tv series. I think people just don't like Superman because he's such a cliche superhero. But he has a lot of great stories and his personality is as iconic as his look and feats. I actually feel that Batman is kinda boring and over rated. Batman is an iconic character but his methods are outdated, which makes his no kill rule a danger to Gotham City residents who are regularly terrorized and murdered by the same criminals that Batman locks up every 2 weeks

After reading superman these past few years, this is after a long history of not liking him and saying he is boring. I've learned that no one really knows superman but alot of people say and act like they do, its kinda rare for a person to actually understand the character. Most people like Zack Synder get obsessed with the super element which is honestly the least interesting and focused on element of superman ever any interesting story of superman always has to do with the man element of the character. Ive seen alot of how can anyone beat superman you cant find a interesting villain for him, but after reading all his villains are tailored specifically to counter superman in some way, the rare superman stories are usually the ones where he is just straight up punching some villain, most stories are him having to deal with some threat and using his head to get around them, while he is not always in danger him trying to save people is very important in the story. His personality is one of the most interesting elements, he is a big goody 2 shoes very nice guy farmboy and kinda a nerd, but with the most insane powers he isnt like "cool'. Ill never get how people think Goku is a interesting character and not realize Goku and superman are literally the same character, meaning the z era and super, the best part of superman is the wackyness of the story and to remove that element removes a big part of the character because its not meant to be taken so damn seriously, this is what the synder and the Brandon version of superman seemingly have forgotten and its why they kinda stink, superman is inherently silly and fun, the outlier for his character is the serious stuff and its why when he fights someone like zodd, mongol, brainiac, darkside, or doomsday those elements things stick out because they not the norm but when you make the not norm the norm it becomes not special. Plus idk what it is with synder but man let superman take battle damage that at least would make the fights interesting like the comics.
The problem isn't with Superman per se, it's specifically that Superman is poorly suited to the "darker, grittier, and more realistic" style of superhero media that's become so dominant.
Exactly the point. Superman has mostly portrayed as a strong moral hero who in simplicity is not out to help people people out of guilt. He helps because he wants to make a world a better place. Something that the current media seems to see as outdated
I don't even care if Superman is overpowered, that's part of the appeal to me. A man with unlimited power who uses it to do what's right, that's the appeal to me. As you said, a lot of other people would get his powers and straight up just become villains, or they'd become incredibly violent anti-heroes. But Clark Kent is a good person, an optimist, a humanitarian. It's the same reason I love Batman, the billionaire who donates absurd amount of money to combat crime and poverty while also risking his own life to protect people.
Honestly, i like Superman more than edgy, morally 'grey", cynical anti-heroes that have become common over the last decade. I find a man who remains steadfast in his beliefs and refuses to lose hope incredibly inspiring. There's a simple beauty in Clark's character, something magical that the first Donner film captured. He's an alien with god-like powers, yet he's more human than most characters.
I have seen some people like injustice superman often mistaking it as "depth" to his character. In all honesty a lot of these people are psychos. They dislike superman because he doesn't fit their worldview. These are the same people who say if they had superpowers they will be just like Homelander. Thou i must say there is a place for a darker more anti-hero to anti villain esque superman however his classic take also has a place. Thou i dislike everything homelander esque, some people legit want him to be like homelander. and i always ask those people why? why do they want him to follow homelander who is a manchild, unstable, grapist and murderous. I think some of those people Just want to escape in some power fantasy and have an excuse to do those same things
Bro this is the best Superman video I've seen in a long time. Everything you've said 100% Yes. I'm going to watch this video like 10 times just to give you views bro.
I love the character trait that Superman is a little petty -- because he can't "react" to being bullied, he does little petty things that I enjoy AND he's still willing to help those that hurt him Also, I hate the take that Superman is OP but Batman fanboys can not fathom the concept of Batman losing ever -- like the old adjure is that Batman can beat anyone WITH prep time and after learning his opponent but if he gets laid out by a literal GOD the people are in uproar.
A moment from superman unchained is when the Burj Khalifa is about to fall and he only has 1 minute to save everyone. He can’t push the building up because it’ll break due to the force, he isn’t fast enough to fly everyone out one by one. Cause if he does he’ll shatter glass which will hurt everyone. So what he does is that he goes to a waterbody nearby, flies really fast to make a water current big enough that it can act as support if frozen in ice, he uses freeze breath to freeze the water, and hopes that the structure holds up and it does cushion the building’s fall. He is not overpowered, but he is hella smart in using his powers
About Kill the Justice League Superman. While his idea to negotiate with Brainiac in the Skull ship is bad out of universe. In universe it does make sense.Brainiac is the first Alien theat doesn't immediately launch and attack on the city(there was at some point a mention of a Sinestro Corps invasion of Earth that the League stopped). Brainiac didn't start immediately start lasering everything in sight or sended his troops. What he did was open an communication channel and request a private meeting with the Justice League. And while Superman was for the idea that to go to the ship together, Batman, Wonder Woman and Flash weren't convinced. Its only when John Stewart(Green Lantern) jumps in the conversation and convinces the others that even if Brainiac turns to be hostile, they can take him down together.
People who say superman is too good or too strong to be interesting should really watch or read more superman stuff. Spiderman is just like superman, incorruptible moral compass, powers that should make it so he never looses a fight, and always holds back out of a fear of hurting those he is fighting, but no one ever says spiderman is boring, because we've had amazing spiderman stories in our face near constantly.

@@jmgonzales7701 Supeman is too pure, too merciful and too good for the modern world. People prefer characters like Wolverine and Deapool in these days. Even the X-Men become all ruthless killers in the last part of Krakoa Era.This made me very sad. True heroism is dying.
Some of the best stories to read if you have dumb ideas about Superman: Superman Ending Battle, Our World's at War, Superman the Last Son of Krypton, Superman for All Seasons, Superman Birthright, Kingdom Come, JSA Thy Kingdom Come.

Superman isn’t overpowered. He has weaknesses and has shown vulnerability. Kryptonite, Magic, Red Sun radiation, high voltage electricity. If you look at the source material you can find his weaknesses.
One is a regular dude that happens to be alien the other is a mentally disabled dude that didn't know how the world works during his childhood and even now But yet, they both are just trying to do their best ❤
Facts put respect on the goat I'm tired of hearing people disrespect my man Like seriously the stupid thing's these people say "his not relatable" when his one of the only heroes with a relatable normal secret identity and unlike most heroes his life actually moves and changes instead of being the same thing for decades I'm looking at you Peter His lore and rogue's gallery is one of the most interesting in comic's yet we never see them get the love they deserve instead most adaptations just go for the bare minimum thing's everyone already knows "His too overpowered" guess what that's the point his character is that his the physical impediment of the power doesn't corrupt the person you are does when someone says him having not being evil or being as kind as he is unrealistic hey pal that's the point his supposed to be a goal and ideal for people to be like instead some of edge lord who only focuses on the negative also you hate superman being overpowered where's that same energy with batman or spider-man who is constantly stated and shown to be able to one-shot 99 percent of his villains if he ever actually tries And I'm sick of these adaptations not getting his capabilities right like his a terrible fighter when his top 10 in dc, his stupid when his arguably the smartest hero in dc and the his not battle smart when he mostly works alone and beats most of his enemies with intelligence and not just brute force PS i like Henry's version of superman but man it's unfortunate his story couldn't be told properly instead wb had to just mess up the universe with the stupid rushing of the characters
I know i might get a lot of crap for this. I enjoyed Man of Steel. it's not the best adaptation of Superman but there's a lot of things about the movie i enjoy. The music by Hans Zimmer is great as expected. Henry has a great performance playing a Clark Kent trying to figure things out and his place in the world. Zod was a pretty decent villain with an understandable goal of wanting to bring back his home. And the military helping Superman out during the latter half of the movie was pretty damn cool. Its not often in superhero media where the military gets to help out a little bit. If the movie had a few more changes to it in the writing, it could've been a lot better.
Man of Steel isn't Bad . Hell, it is Closer to how high the stakes in the post crisis comics could get... Plus, if Snyder used the OG Siegel Superman , you can't imagine the butthurt of''fans'' who don't know how that version is...let's Say Zod would not get away with a neck Snap...
Superman's greatest feature is his kindness and good heart . Some people say he is too OP, but unlike other heroes with the same amount of power, he has an strict moral code that turn things much harder for him.
I learned at 17 years old the importance of Superman's trunks while prepping for a Halloween party. I was young and stupid and thought the trunks were "totally gay" and all that. Then I got a good look in the mirror and immediately realized "Oh, he wears the trunks because you can see his junk through the blue tights. Got it."
I think any comic “book fan” that says Superman is lame should either watch or read All-Star Superman and what’s so funny about truth justice and the American way it shows even through some think his ideals are “outdated” it shows why they matter and how great a of a character he is. Also think it’s stupid that they didn’t ask green lantern to ask the corp if any of them have ever heard about Brainiac in SSKTJL game is so dumb
I mean I honestly think what’s so funny about truth justice is the most overrated Superman story. Hitman is pretty decent response to that.Justice league Elite is goated
Another thing about Superman's identity is that Superman is like a celebrity. People often can't imagine celebrities being normal people, given that he's a superpowered alien, making it even more so.
I have seen some people like injustice superman often mistaking it as "depth" to his character. In all honesty a lot of these people are psychos. Thou its weird those edgelords like batman when even a lot of his edgelord takes were still very heroic and had a clear moral compass.
People just got too used to evil Superman or comics where Superman just brushes away Kryptonite and does something strong like Batman being smart enough to basically beat gods.
While, we might disagree with Superman vs. the Klan story. Which I found cringe then and even kinda now. I completely agree with everything else you have laid down because I am tired of people just saying. SUPERMAN BORING BECAUSE HE TO POWERFUL.... Like, that is what makes him powerful that is the whole "With Great power must also come great responsibility" line. Which I think people forgo when it comes to Clark. He has the power to destroy the world but just because he has it. He doesn't. He is a symbol of hope and honestly, another reason I think people don't like heroes like Superman anymore is because he is just that, Hope. People now adays live in this constant weird state of nihilism and faltered thinking. That is why they feel he wouldn't work today and with that, I disagree totally. We need more characters like him to inspire the betterment of humanity and I have realized that as I gotten older. I at one point thought he was boring until I see our world today and see that we need more symbols like him rather than not. Good video all together and thank you for speaking what needs to be said. We need more Superman's and less Anti-heroes. Plus on the Aba and Preach.
Its harder to be positive and devote yourself to being a beacon of positivity in the face of adversity than to be angry and resentful its inherently more complex to discover and flesh out the core of a positive person

It’s crazy that people will say “Superman is boring and not relatable to the general audience” as if Smallville isn’t still like the longest running superhero show to date
Legit what a great show
For real that show was so good. Plus by s6 Clark was very op but the show was still relatable
I love smallville but when every season you gotta do a red kryptonite story you might need to rethink how many seasons you can get out of this thing
These people do not understand that it is not always the physical characteristics we relate to, but the characters themselves but their actions, personalities, ideologies at times, even flaws.
And it’s a boring show. It’s a rural teen drama
"Superman isn't relatable" - He is relatable, because he shows everyone that anyone is capable of doing good. If you help an old lady across the street or as simple as giving your seat to an elderly... You ARE Superman
Thing is any hero can do that but what I think the difference is, is that Superman despite his superiority still does the common good, you feel me
Superman has a 9 to 5 job, lives in an apartment, gets snubbed by the girl he likes, and is constantly made fun of by one of his coworkers
Batman, however, is a billionaire with a loyal butler, is able to adopt kids left and right with no questions asked, knows every language, every martial art, can outsmart literal gods, can have sex with any woman he wants, and is able to sleep in all day without risk of losing his job.

One common opinion that is currently annoying me is that people want Superman to constantly be smiling. This is an over correction to Cavill’s Superman since he was always unsure of himself and sad. But Superman is usually posing in a stoic way with a serious expression.
Yea
The smiling part comes from the first Superman film,Reeves smiles a lot in this movie,so fans of this movie want Supes to smile a lot too.
I want Coronswets Superman to be happy not broody like Cavills
Superman is always friendly. He’s not always happy.
I think that’s the big thing Snyder’s Superman missed. He felt so cold and distant all the time.

Exactly
His weaknesses are too inconsistent sometimes they work or he just powers through them he also is way too op beating up gods & also fighting a kryptonite doomsday like come on bro 🙄 he shouldn’t stand up to that.
I hate it when people say Batman is relatable and realistic he's not. The only thing relatable about Batman is that he's human. Batman fanboys belong in Arkham Asylum. I love Batman but his fanboys are deranged.
You are totally right, it's a paradox.
Some people tend to forget that without the Big Blue Boy Scout, a good majority of their favorite superheroes would not exist.
That doesn’t really mean people have to like Superman or can’t find him boring.
Powers or not he'd help people, be it helping someone carry groceries or helping people in an accident or disaster.

i half disagree thou i like his alex ross suit the most since its classic i never did like the trunks.
The amount of times I had to explian to my friend that superman isn't boring and only for him to say he's boring months later is frustrating.
Maybe they should read Superman for all seasons or All Star Superman. If they still say he’s boring idk what to do
Superman and Lois is absolutely gosted can't lie. Im a solid superman enjoyer.
Enough disrespect on Superman, he paved the way for Superheroes and this is the thanks he gets.
You can respect his place in history, but still acknowledge that he's an outdated character.
@@tananatana4011 it doesn't matter
That's stupid
@@tabaributler2225 I did say _some_ credit, not necessarily _a lot_ of credit. Him being empathetic to another alien, especially this version of Brainiac since he's the last surviving member of his planet, makes sense. Him going in without a plan, beyond talk no jutsu, does not.
The other Leaguers not (metaphorically) slapping sense into him when he insists on it makes them stupid by proxy.
@sputnikmann6541 agreed in full, it felt not like the characters would actually act and only did so to move the plot along.
Powers inconsistency is a major factor with basically every single superhero.
Yes a big issue with Superman is he can seem a little too much like mindless follower.
as a superman fan i do think some of his character needs to change, like for example his plot convenient powers, I think we need to get rid that he gets powered by the Sun trait. Its too convenient of a power source. I think there needs to be an innovation to how he gets stronger and why it kinda fades after a long battle.

Zack Snyder took it to a whole new level. He essentially quoted Manchester Black’s words on Superman
@@Theleaver5088 Most TV/movie writers and directors would find it unbelievable and uninteresting to have villains just be left tied up in front of city hall.

I literally had the same realization recently and what helped me get to that point was the rebirth era of Superman I'd highly recommend it
After reading the Death of Superman/ Reign of Superman storyline I'm been slowly starting to become a major fan of Superman.

@@karimdavis7065 I haven’t read much Superman yet but isn’t the juxtaposition between him as Clark and him as Superman a big part of the character even in the comics?
Superman is too OP for his own video game.
Kratos, Dante, and Bayonetta shrug in confusion.
i think they should just nerf his speed and destructive power a bit for video games. While kratos is indeed very powerful he ain't the type to just punch the planet and the planet explodes.
My adventures with Superman was really good, so excited for season two later this month
"We're in this together gang"????
Seriously???
As he does something the entire League objects to 😂
Nobody can really say Superman's character is "outdated" when heroes and heroism itself isn't outdated.
And a lot of Superman purists seem to not like when Superman has a little more internal conflict and struggle.
@suarezguy really? Cause I love it when his insecurities and fears are brought out for us to see. It proves that he's not perfect as many haters seem to love to say. Even then, he does go through struggles, maybe even more so than Spidey if you wanna really think about it.
@@suarezguy”Don’t think Captain America is really that popular.” Who the hell told you that?
Because they say that Spider-Man is relatable, even though he’s literally a genius and the chick magnet in costume nothing relatable about that
Shoot! Comic book Peter (& to an extent, the film adaptations) had a handful of women out of costume!
Peter is a lot more relatable in the ultimate universe where women throw up on him after finding out she was into a kid

I honestly blame Snyder and injustice
Snyder Derangement Syndrome
I blame Injustice for popularizing an Evil Superman and I blame Snyder for looking at the comic, seeing that Lois died make him turn evil, and making that part of his version of the character.
@@CoolIguess5 pretty much, also the fact Snyder just lacks the understanding of these characters such as Batman and Superman
It's mostly Injustice. I don't like Snyder but he actually got a lot of people into Suprerman.
@@CoolIguess5 Snyder's Superman never was evil, you goofie
Even Z-Nation had more respect for that suit and Superman (2025) than most Snydercucks
Imo, Tom Welling's Clark Kent is the most relatable Live-Action Superman adaptation, because he's basically like Peter Parker, like school problems, money problems, like the problems he faced has the same problems every teenagers has
If goku can still have interesting stories at that level of power why can't supergoat
tbh plot wise dragon ball isnt really interesting nor deep.
Reasons why Superman is one of the greatest and one of the most relatable characters ever created
**1. Iconic Symbolism**: Superman's iconic "S" shield is one of the most recognizable symbols in the world, symbolizing hope, courage, and truth. The character's ability to inspire and represent these values has made him a beloved figure across cultures.
**2. Humanized with Vulnerability**: Superman's human vulnerability, particularly his weakness to Kryptonite, makes him more relatable and human. This vulnerability also creates tension and drama, making him a more complex and interesting character.
**3. Ordinary Origins**: Superman's origin story, which involves being sent to Earth as an infant after Krypton's destruction, resonates with people who have experienced loss, displacement, or being an outsider. His journey from alien to hero is inspiring and relatable.
**4. Selflessness and Sacrifice**: Superman's unwavering commitment to truth, justice, and the protection of humanity is a powerful example of selflessness and sacrifice. His actions inspire others to emulate these values and strive for a better world.
**5. Multifaceted Personality**: Superman's character is multifaceted, with traits like kindness, compassion, humor, and humility. These traits make him more accessible and easier to connect with, as he is not just a one-dimensional superhero.
**6. Influence on Pop Culture**: Superman's impact on popular culture is immense, inspiring countless adaptations, parodies, and references in various forms of media. His influence can be seen in many other superheroes and characters.
**7. Timeless Themes**: Superman's story explores timeless themes that are relevant to people across generations, such as:
* The struggle between good and evil
* The power of friendship and loyalty
* The importance of responsibility and duty
* The tension between personal desires and the greater good
**8. Relatable Personal Struggles**: Superman's personal struggles, such as his struggles with his Kryptonian heritage and his desire to fit in with humanity, are relatable to people who have experienced similar feelings of identity crisis or belonging.
**9. Iconic Relationships**: Superman's relationships with other characters, such as Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, and Supergirl, add depth and richness to his character. These relationships also create opportunities for character development and conflict.
**10. Enduring Legacy**: Superman's legacy has endured for over 80 years, with his character evolving over time while still maintaining its core essence. He remains a beloved figure in popular culture, inspiring new generations of fans.
In conclusion, Superman's enduring popularity can be attributed to his unique blend of heroic traits, relatable human vulnerabilities, and timeless themes that resonate with people across cultures and generations.
Clark actually is a super-genius, or at least his brain moves faster than any human brain so he could easily pick up new concepts
As a wise man once said "Superman is naive not stupid."
Thank god he is getting love again and people realize how good character he is now
Isabela Merced. Bro has good taste😂
Something that the current media seems to see as outdated
he can be put into darker stories, Thou he just needs to be the sole person that isn't dark
Superman being hated for his "outdated morals" and loving Spider-Man and Captain America for the same reason is depressingly stupid
Bro this is the best Superman video I've seen in a long time. Everything you've said 100% Yes. I'm going to watch this video like 10 times just to give you views bro.
That Jimmy Kimmel sketch had a more accurate Lex Luthor than the actual movie. 😂
I love the character trait that Superman is a little petty -- because he can't "react" to being bullied, he does little petty things that I enjoy AND he's still willing to help those that hurt him
Also, I hate the take that Superman is OP but Batman fanboys can not fathom the concept of Batman losing ever -- like the old adjure is that Batman can beat anyone WITH prep time and after learning his opponent but if he gets laid out by a literal GOD the people are in uproar.
Superman op and has to little weakness.
At same time they love Goku, Thor and hulk, all op and no weaknesses.

Like seriously the stupid thing's these people say "his not relatable" when his one of the only heroes with a relatable normal secret identity and unlike most heroes his life actually moves and changes instead of being the same thing for decades I'm looking at you Peter
His lore and rogue's gallery is one of the most interesting in comic's yet we never see them get the love they deserve instead most adaptations just go for the bare minimum thing's everyone already knows
"His too overpowered" guess what that's the point his character is that his the physical impediment of the power doesn't corrupt the person you are does when someone says him having not being evil or being as kind as he is unrealistic hey pal that's the point his supposed to be a goal and ideal for people to be like instead some of edge lord who only focuses on the negative also you hate superman being overpowered where's that same energy with batman or spider-man who is constantly stated and shown to be able to one-shot 99 percent of his villains if he ever actually tries
And I'm sick of these adaptations not getting his capabilities right like his a terrible fighter when his top 10 in dc, his stupid when his arguably the smartest hero in dc and the his not battle smart when he mostly works alone and beats most of his enemies with intelligence and not just brute force
PS i like Henry's version of superman but man it's unfortunate his story couldn't be told properly instead wb had to just mess up the universe with the stupid rushing of the characters

I think the trunks argument is so stupid because I’d say the trunks help distinguish the design and not make it look a little empty
Exactly. The suit needs both the red trunks and the yellow belt to break up the blue at the waist
People should idolize Superman to be like him.

Got it."
Batman wore trunks originally as well. Nobody complained Batman wore trunks in Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.
