WB is incompetent and treats their animation department like crap. They haven't really increased the budget of their movies for more than a decade. Each movie movie only has the budget of about one and a half episodes of Family Guy. WB has put the animation team under a strict schedule. You'll notice how they put out 3 - 4 of these movies each year. They have very little time to work on these movies and they make one after another without much time to plan things out or do script revisions. This is a pretty good illustration of why I am, without shame, a 'filthy casual'. When it comes to the DC animated movies and comics. I just skip around only paying attention to what stories sound cool to me and then ignore anything else that doesn't seem appealing. Both New 52 Animated cinematic universe and the tomorrowverse were mixed bags, with some movies I thought were cool, some were just fine, and some I just read the plot summery for and said "not interested". I hope they finally ditch trying to connect everything in a big cinematic universe and go back to trying out different art styles, adapting different comics without worrying how they would connect, and giving different actors a chance at the rolls. That was cool. If I wanted longer form story telling, I'd just stick a tv show or a longer comic run.
The awkward pauses with no background music, stilted dialogue and animation, it started to like, get to me psychologically, like I couldn’t move, speak or breath

The random pauses KILLED me. No soundtrack, no sound design, no motion on screen, no nothing. Just like 15-20 seconds between lines in a back and forth conversation. It feels like 2 actors in separate rooms reading lists of lines, not people talking
@@josef.ramoss.8457 When I'm having a conversation I don't just stop and stare at the person for like 15 seconds before I respond. You know when you watch the news and they switch from the anchor in the studio to the reporter on the street and the anchor says "and now for our reporter who's at the protest" and the reporter just stares at the camera for like 10 seconds because it takes a bit for for the anchor's last line to get to him? @@pianist150 the news requires to be quick, not an normal conversation, also not 15 seconds, 5 or 6 to make the moment more natural, not all the people talk fast, sometimes they are thinking before talk or trying to express before the actual answer. Green Lantern, Legion of Superheroes, JL Warworld, and the Crisis on infinite earths were ABSOLUTELY horrible. Crisis really pissed me off with the dinosaur scene !
One Piece ,Pokémon and Bleach were on the screen for YEARS, hundreds of episodes that were needed to embed them in popular culture like Dragon Ball and One Piece. They ran sometime at losses until they became popular enough to be franchises. WB needs the financial resolve and foresight needed to turn these IPs back into franchise again. There is no easy way out or shortcut, just the grind. They'll either do it and climb back to the top or wont and fail.

Imo it all went downhill after Flashpoint Paradox. I get genuinely frustrated & question someones taste when they say they thought Apokolips War was good/cool.
I was trying to watch warworld and I was just waiting for the main story. Got past the wonder woman stuff and just stopped watching it. I was wondering why the introduction was literally 1/3 of the movie.
Please don't remind me of that nightmare....I was beginning to forget it
The only way to save the DCAMU is to make a snowflame movie. Trust me man
You know im not really a DC fan but something like that would win me over
Crisis on infinite Earths was really good I would say it was way better than Marvel’s What If
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 oh wait 🤨🤔, your serious😑🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭
We can agree on season 2 captain Carter if it was garbage,
captain sue if was straight up trash but season one , if Ultron won excluding his loss(cuz it was bull) was 🔥🔥🔥
I almost fell asleep during part 2, just sayin.
Brooooo you spoke MY heart and mind out in this video........kudos to you👏❤
It's so tragic, the animation style and the character designs are soo freaking good 😢😢😢
What a waste mehn
After justice league throne of Atlantis I noticed a slight dip in quality for my viewing experience, but I still got a kick out of it ygm. But when it got to man of tomorrow everything was garbage. The long Halloween is what could of been. I consider that film the strongest out of the garbage.
Hopefully a new animated universe is made (not connected to James DCU)
Im also hyped for the new anime move Yakuza League (Batman Ninja 2)
8:59 words can’t describe the visceral validation I felt when you talked about not giving a fuck about the dinosaurs. Literally why tf were they THERE
I knew it was going downhill when I didn’t fuck with Constantine’s new look like why tf he look like that and everyone else is all smooth looking???
You hit the nail on the head with the *awkward pauses* it's the same thing that pissed me off with the editing on the Titans TV show... horrible
The tommorowverse was like a mandate from on high to make all the animated features lower quality in every way.
This vid was entertaining and funny on every level, nice job and keep and up the good work!
This particular critique of the recent dcau movies earned you a sub
I agree back then dc did indeed beat marvel in animation, but now it's just a joke
I actually really liked the last few!
I miss peak DC Animated.
Who remember DC showcase.
The new crisis bored me soo much, I fell asleep like 10 times on each. Very hard to watch
I’m glad that tomorrow or yesterday verse is over. The old shows are “TheGOAT”
I just want GLAS season two with the same production team
I feel like everyone from the DCAU went to X-Men 97 and left the world with the TomorrowVerse turd.
The awkward pauses with no background music, stilted dialogue and animation, it started to like, get to me psychologically, like I couldn’t move, speak or breath
Bro literally pointed out every thought I've had about these movies.
Thanks for this video, the last movie I saw and bought was Superman Man of Tomorrow! I got all the others before that physical but stop, now I will watch them on streaming.
One thing I can say I like about the Tomorrowverse is the female character designs 🤤
Good thing, i love DC so much that i rewatch the old animations related contents all over again and never get to the Tomorowverse.(Except for Batman: the long halloween, cause i can't resist a Batman movie)😅.
Man, the old ones, they're still enjoyable.
Those first 4 were pretty good it went down hill with green lantern as excited as I was for his own stand alone
The random pauses KILLED me. No soundtrack, no sound design, no motion on screen, no nothing. Just like 15-20 seconds between lines in a back and forth conversation. It feels like 2 actors in separate rooms reading lists of lines, not people talking
Yeeeah the tomorrowverse had weird pacing with those pauses.
Don't agree, those pauses make them more natural and realistic, realistic in the sense of perception from our world, not the edgy meaning.
@@josef.ramoss.8457 When I'm having a conversation I don't just stop and stare at the person for like 15 seconds before I respond. And also if there are these pauses bump up the sound design, get some score in there, have more background animation or facial animation. You know when you watch the news and they switch from the anchor in the studio to the reporter on the street and the anchor says "and now for our reporter who's at the protest" and the reporter just stares at the camera for like 10 seconds because it takes a bit for for the anchor's last line to get to him? That's what it feels like
@@pianist150 the news requires to be quick, not an normal conversation, also not 15 seconds, 5 or 6 to make the moment more natural, not all the people talk fast, sometimes they are thinking before talk or trying to express before the actual answer.
The sound Design is because budget getting lower thanks for Zaslav
@@josef.ramoss.8457 let’s say it’s 5 seconds, irl the person isn’t staring back idly. They start smirking, looking away, their eyes go up while they think, they readjust, if we’re going for more natural you can’t just take the part where they pause, animate them more. It’s just not cinematic.
that spiderman guy moaned
I fully agree the positivity really stopped after Batman Long Halloween
Well, this isn't even the downfall, but just - or above all - Der Untergang. :)
By the way: this is what happens when an art form becomes subject to crass commercialization. Just look at the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy, among others and many cases of that kind.
You're a bit harsh but quite right about the declining quality of the DC Animations. I couldn't even watch the Crisis on inifinite whatever...
I loved watching DCAU movies as they were perfect. But stopped watching them around 5 years ago and was wondering if I should watch what's been released since then. Thanks for saving me from a great torture and disappointment.
The dynamic duo end their era . Rest in peace Kevin Conroy.
Great video, man! Had a lot of the exact same criticisms that I covered in my review of these Crisis movies. Very therapeutic to hear someone else having the same experience with them. Keep up the good work dude, I love the channel!
2:47 bro did an anti sponsor
Batman saying "yo" in jlu and having some fun with Barbara Gordon in that one movie made the heavens weep
I agree 100% with the take on the Green Lantern movie… as an old school JL/JLU fan I was so excited to get a John Stewart film but I was so disappointed by the actual movie… I feel like DC wasted a lot of potential. But I still want more John Stewart content in the future
Jensen Ackles did a good job as Bats. He did amazing as Red Hood as well.
Green Lantern, Legion of Superheroes, JL Warworld, and the Crisis on infinite earths were ABSOLUTELY horrible.
Crisis really pissed me off with the dinosaur scene !
A shared universe makes complete sense for DC animated movies.
Idk how they messed this up.
I remembered the song Them vs PS5 after listening to you
Finally someone adressing this
One Piece ,Pokémon and Bleach were on the screen for YEARS, hundreds of episodes that were needed to embed them in popular culture like Dragon Ball and One Piece. They ran sometime at losses until they became popular enough to be franchises. WB needs the financial resolve and foresight needed to turn these IPs back into franchise again. There is no easy way out or shortcut, just the grind. They'll either do it and climb back to the top or wont and fail.
Bro spitting truths and facts, thank you🙏🏿
I loved Dcamu
Only flaw was too many team up movie, even though I loved them all. There should have been more solo movies other than batman and superman ofc
Tomarrowverse had a good art style, I loved Dcamu more, tomarrow verse was so confusing, I didn't like any movie as much as Dcamu other then crisis part 3.
They needed to take their time making the universe.
Thank you, I'm glad I'm not the only who thinks their animation is a downgrade. When it comes to animation movies, DC was better than marvel.
That's why I can't understand why all of a sudden they are destroying themselves with the new animated movies
Came for the DC rant, subscribed for the better help stray.
I'm looking forward to changing my subscriptions to see Xmen more than looking at crisis part one, which I owned for 4 months now, but didn't watch. It's bad even you hope that it's good but you know that will somehow Eff it up..... and there's 2 more parts? Is it worth it?
Arrowverse infinite tisms was anything but cohesive
They died with everything that came after flashpoint paradox
