this is my favorite video of yours yet! I think the contrast behind success of aristocrats and 'failure' of life-gain in your environment is a great lesson for those trying to cultivate more niche 'themes' in their environments!
This was really good, also that self deprecating joke about publishing design mistakes killed me! Inspiring to know that everyone can still learn something when making a cube!
One thing I am thinking about now is your note at the end about cards that only go in one deck. My main list is heavily multicolor and’s one of the glue themes is +1/+1 counters. There are many cards that only go in a countries deck, but I believe it’s an example of the “Magecraft design” where that theme is in every color and in many different types of decks.
5:25 the magecraft approach that you mention with mechanics in different colors sounds really interesting. Lately I've been doing the opposite actually.. Do you know of articles written on this subject?

Thanks so much! I've got more archetype and subtheme spotlights coming down the pipeline.

Yeah, I guess if you can picture a lot of diverse builds that a card could slot into, I wouldn't really consider that to be just "one deck".
Great video. Good insight and ideas for my cube. Thanks
