Really like this specific archetype analysis and explanation why something feels fun for people that play magic! Just building my first cube, a peasant cube with draft chaf.
One thing I've been playing with lately is bleeding into green for artifact sac/crats ever since WotC has been tacking what they call "junk tokens" on to cards in every set lately. It's actually really easy to integrate if you're already doing aristocrats. Mayhem Devil turns all of your Treasure/Clues/Food into pings, so your Tireless Tracker/Provisioner is getting double triggers off fetches, getting double triggers of Devil, and providing more self-sacrificing artifacts for Devil to ping with. Gilded Goose, Prosperous Innkeeper, and Vraska Relic Seeker are making self-sacrificing artifact tokens in addition to just being solid cards. Your black top-end with Bontu and a possibly Marionette Master now become houses, and Marionette Master also plays well if you're supporting flicker and doing Esper Gonti bullshit. If you're doing Hidden Stockpile now you can do some sort of Abzan Artifact crats and get extra use out of your artifact-y white cards like Esper Sentinel or even the worst cube card, Thraben Inspector. Hangerback Walker is an artifact that makes more artifacts as well. Cards you might need to add to help support this: Disciple of the Vault, basically your artifact-only Blood Artist. This one helps if two people are drafting 'crats and gives the signal you can probably pivot into the artifact-flavor when the Blood Artist or Cuthroat doesn't make it your way. Pitiless Plunderer (why the fuck is this a $10 uncommon?!) Deadly Dispute (why the fuck is this a $3 common?!) Spicy considerations: Chatterfang makes a squirrel everytime you make an artifact token (also goes semi-infinite with the Plunderer) Ravenous Squirrel is nice if you want to move into counters with your Tireless Tracker and youre doing like a Winding Constrictor thing. Fae Offering - This one takes a little bit of work to turn it on but once you do it's easy to keep it going. Late game you can go Dork > Kill Spell and now you have Treasure to keep double spelling, Clues to draw more spells, and Food to keep you alive while you durdle. Old Rutstein - If you've gone this deep congrats! You've finally given identity to your Golgari gold section besides "Removal". I've also wanted to try Oni-Cult Anvil but havent yet. I hate the "once per turn" text but I like the flavor of the rhythmic hammer hitting the anvil every turn and the card feeding itself. Downsides: Every fuckin card here is like 3 CMC but you're making so many treasure tokens that you dont give a shit about your hot mess of a curve so idk. PS. what a bunch of sellouts. here's your comment and like I hope you're happy (I genuinely appreciate all the work you guys do and I raised my patronage after you called out my boomer elevator memes)
This is what im trying to do with my current peasant cube too! First cube im building. And there is just a new token printed as well with the map tokens.
Pauper does have an aristocrats deck and it is BG. And I mean actual pauper, not pauper cube. Historically, it plays stuff like Carrion Feeders, Bloodthorn Vampire, Bloodflow Connoisseur, and more recently Bayou Groff for sac outlets, and Mortician Bettle, Bone Picker or Bequeathal instead of Blood Artist effects. For sac fodder, it plays stuff like Blisterpod and Young Wolf. Falkenrath Noble is a common, but they usually don't play it, opting for a more aggressive curve. I have zero experience with pauper cubes, but I'm sure one could make it work if they wanted to.
I'm surprised you didn't mention green. Green adds dorks you can sack later and can ramp into stuff like Bolas's citadel. I added green support to sacrifice based off the Jund Sacrifice deck that has been doing so well in Pioneer
+1 algoValue - ------ - but wanted to say that i'm into this idea , more deck archetype discussions - and if you can keep it tight at 40 mins, my commute would be complete. :-) keep it up fellas.

Best video treatment yet (and I'd love to see you follow up on green as a sacrifice-matters color given the couple of comments on it here).
