    I think it’s always easier to add a whole bunch of cards first, and go over your target number; then make cuts after when you sort things into mana curve. :))

    Hey thanks for this video, I subbed to your channel. I just got back into magic for like the third time. Started playing during revised through Merc Masques, Urzas Block was middle school for me. Got back into it during Nemesis for a little bit, and have been back with MTG Arena. Just learned about cube format and looking to build a cube that will be drafted by 2-4 people at a time. Most of the people I am gonna be playing with haven't played since 4th edition or never played.
    Going to be looking forward to your videos. Thanks again

      Thanks so much! I’m planning a pretty long video right now, but I was actually considering doing a video on unconventional ways to draft after that one. I’ll be sure to focus on some 2-4 person draft styles!

      Try buying a bundle, and with the cards do a sealed with 5 packs each. After that repack the bundle and do grid or winston drafting when playing as just two people 🤗🤗

    Thank you for that video. Highly appreciated. I'm currently in the very early steps on building a cube.
    How do you store the 15(?) cards as the individual boosters? There are some sold out dragon shield cube shells that some prefer, but, well sold-out everyone except some shops in Scandinavia. I have some new cassettes tape boxes that some on reddit used in a DIY project. I think opening up a booster just brings more to the experience than selecting some cards at random from a big box.
    And as far as I understood, when using some boosters to crack open, the cards inside should be totally (?) randomized from draft to draft, correct? Or do you pre-select a little bit by color or just live with the fact that sometimes those 15 cards going around the table consist of 12 red and 3 blue cards?

    • @hypercubemtg8260
      @hypercubemtg8260  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There’s a product called cubamajigs that are little plastic packs to create your own packs for cube, they’re great if you’re building a set or block cube especially and actually have to sort by rarity, however most people will just pull out 15 cards at random and make 3 piles to treat as packs. I can definitely see the act of physically opening something feeling better than just pulling from a pile though. Tape boxes could be a fun idea for sure!

    • @hypercubemtg8260
      @hypercubemtg8260  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      And as far as randomization goes, there will be times where you have way more of a certain color and none of another, that’s where having the same rations of colors across your cube really comes in, and just making sure it’s well shuffled before making backs!

      If youre just starting out, check the Burger Tokens Boxes. Ive used 3 different types of boxes, but these are easily the cheapest and get the job done. Here's a link for them: burgertokens.com/products/perfect-fit-deckboxes
      I kickstarted the Cubamajigs and Ive also tested out the Dragon Shield ones. Currently I have my Pauper cube in the Burger Tokens Boxes, and my Powered Cube in the Dragon Shield ones.

    Hi. Thks for the guide. Im building a peasant cube and looking for including commanders to make a peasant commander cube. Not easy. I wonder if its better to build around commanders or achetypes. Keep the good job!

    • @hypercubemtg8260
      @hypercubemtg8260  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! That’s a tough one. I’d probably go for building out archetypes, then choose commanders that support those archetypes because if you build parts your cube around one specific creatures and you don’t open or get passed that creature, a whole section of the cube might not function well, whereas if the opposite happens you’d have more chances to build a functional deck I’d think. I’d play around with what feels better for you though!

    Hey, question about a first cube: I'm looking into building a cube using the draft matters cards from the conspiracy block, do you have any suggestions as to how the list should be changed from the basic template to offset the large number of conspiracy cards that don't really fall into any normal categories? Just looking for advice on the best way to go about it, thanks.

    is it still ok to build a really small cube?
    im planing to build a 90 card pauper cube with 18 cards on each color for new players

    • @hypercubemtg8260
      @hypercubemtg8260  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      with a cube that size you'll only really have enough cards to support two people. I'd say go at least 180 so you can draft 4 people, and even with only two people doing solomon or grid drafts, you likely wont have very diverse deck building with cubes that small. 360 is usually the smallest people recommend, but there arent any hard and fast rules. so if you want to try a 90 card cube, go for it! worst case you can always add more cards.

      ah, ok. needs more diversity. i think ill try building a 180, a 135, and a 90 cube then see what works

    Building my first cube with cards in my collection which are not in any commander right now. I'm scouring TH-cam for videos on additional tips. Thank you for the quick guide, but as a constructive feedback, I found nearly unbearable the 10 second music loop during your video, this destroyed my concentration as I could not hear anything but this. Maybe next time either lower the music volume and/or use a background sounds which have a waaaay longer repeat period. :)

      Actually wizards pretty clearly officially states that they’re cool with proxies in casual settings (like cube.) If I print a photo of the Mona Lisa I haven’t stolen the Mona Lisa. Proxies don’t take an existing card from anyone so I really don’t see what you’re getting at.
