    RIP journalism with integrity. Now all we get is 24/7 Trump coverage. Fuck this is sad.

    Meh whatever. I only watched this channel once and it felt fake. In particular, I remember counting six commercials during the commercial break, and five of those were for aljazeera!

    Aljazeera America offered consistently excellent international news coverage, documentaries and informative programs. Losing this outstanding and unique news station is a significant loss! Sad and unfortunate...

      AL Jazeera English still broadcasts in the US, and is downloadable on Roku. They also have good articles and livestreaming on their Website. Al Jazeera also livestreams on TH-cam.

    I guess I never gave them a chance. The little I did see seemed real Main Scheme Media. Maybe that's why it never got big in USA? People wanted something obviously provocative? Probably they focused on our similarities. Were they afraid to be overt about our differences???Too Late Now......

    I was over at friends house telling them how great you was. I played this video and I told them watch this this channel is the best way to get the news. Then I Hurd you was leaving us. This is a tragedy to journalism. I appreciate your efforts to inform us of the truth but unfortunately most folks don't want the truth unless it makes them feel good. I will miss this informative news. Please come back to the world it needs you. I would like to know why your having to stop doing such a great job.

    I truly wish journalism today could match what this channelthis channel brought us years ago. It is a true disappointment that people are so worried about what the public might think of their opinion that they censor themselves or sensor the material that they put out.

    After doing more research on this. Current TV was truly a great station and did a lot better job than Al-Jazeera. I wish people could just get along. Money and greed is truly uncontrollable once you love money more than people. Love people not money. It's the only way humanity will survive.

  • @Dehmitz
    @Dehmitz 8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Among the network's problems, (ratings in the dumpster, shaky relations with cable operators that hindered access), there was a perception issue with the name. I'm not saying that's right or wrong; it's just reality. Possibly AJA could have had a better foundation if they rebranded for the US, but I guess the powers-that-be in Qatar were committed to keeping the name. And starting a TV network in this day and age is an iffy proposition at best.
