    Very good mower you found. I bought the same mower out from a guy that has a lawn care business. He had used it couple of times but decided it wasn't getting jobs done faster due to size so he placed it in his garage for 3 years until I came around & asked to sell it to me. Bought it for $50.00 & basically it's new. I replaced tires & did an oil change etc & I bought a new carburetor. Cleaned the deck replaced blades coated the deck & now it looks like new.. Save myself couple of hundred bucks.. Mower is perfect & runs really smooth. Good video👍 Im planning on buying a commercial honda from a guy that has it stored in his storage. It looks good & ok with price. I plan on detailing it & put it away for some time. Hopefully it holds value.

    I replaced the rear wheels on my HRR216 yesterday. I also removed and cleaned the transmission shaft and replaced the height adjusters so the wheels dont lock up when pulling the mower back. I hope it lasts.

    I found a Harmony 2 on the side of a guy's house I pulled the string and it Started, I gave it to my lil brother and told him to not sale it . A yr later I ask could I use it and he gave it back said I could have it . He had put it in the shop and got a cuple things fixed on it but it still had no tire tread on back I haven't cut grass in 15 yrs because myson was born and I had to raise him and been living in apartments and couldn't or didn't even think about a mower . I then ordered a trimmer off eBay and made an appointment to cut a yard even with the back tires not having tread on the side them I still cut the yard embrssed but I did it . I then ordered 4 cheap tires off eBay for like $46 put them On then order a blower now I'm in business. I've made a few bucks and just now got the blades sharpened the Honda mower is my first Honda and it cuts like a charm I saved myself money by putting my own wheels on

    Looks like rear drive tires needed to be replaced too. Sure makes a difference when you replace bald drive tires with new. I’ve had excellent luck with Honda lawn mowers. I’ve got an HRX 217 that I bought new in the summer of 2009 that still starts on 1st pull. Enjoyed your video!

    Somebody threw this expensive ass mower away? Holy shit. We have owned 2 different Honda push mowers in my lifetime. One in the 80's and 90's when I was growing up, and my grandpa bought current one around 2009 or so exactly like this model. We had it ever since and it still is working. Had a few issues due to normal abuse over years and bent one of the blades but had to straighten it back out and good as before. These things last a long time as long as taken care of. Congrats on your amazing new mower! Looks in much better condition visually than mine!

      @@hanksgarage_ Will do! I found lots of good stuff over years people set out even a nice 43 inch HDTV but it eventually went out lol. Couple years ago I found a pretty nice Casio keyboard from the 90's and it still worked and sounded awesome.

    New we sold those for $399.99 USD. Always nice to see genuine honda parts. Bag wise I usually take mine off the frame, hose it off, soak it in a 5 gallon bucket with some tide and run it through the washing machine to give it that extra clean. I believe to honor the Honda warranty (at least this was 8 years ago). You had to of used the Honda oil for the first whatever days. Pretty rusty deck jeeesh. Nothin like a new pull cord.

    I've been using the Purple Power to clean my old mowers with, I don't think I have ever used the product that you use here,had pretty good luck with it although sometimes it's necessary to use a sash brush on heavier messes.

      The insides get clogged with dirt and grass debris. They are so cheap on Amazon though for a new one.

    Just was given an almost new Honda HRR216. Having trouble finding the choke and, therefore, can't get it to start. Is there a choke and where? Thanks, Bob

    • @hanksgarage_
      @hanksgarage_  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      These have automatic chokes in them. You likely need to clean the carburetor.

    Do you not recommend using a torque wrench for replacing the blades..?

    • @appleztooranges
      @appleztooranges 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honda says 36-42 ft-lbs. so yea

    • @donf3739
      @donf3739 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Definitely use a torque wrench on two-bolt mounted blades.

    Just looking @ one of these @ Lowes $405.00 + Tax, it was off the shelf & I flipped it over to look closer because I'm thinking about buying 3 of them just for the engines, I noticed the new ones the decks are plastic, Is yours plastic??

    • @andybub45
      @andybub45 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The decks are plastic on the HRX series. But it is a very durable plastic. The HRN models (formerly HRR) have a steel deck with a plastic front end. Also, the HRNs have a lot of plastic underneath the deck for the clip director, so that may be what you're seeing.

      You would be better suited finding the same engine on small engine warehouse it would be cheaper than buying the entire machine

    • @hanksgarage_
      @hanksgarage_  ปีที่แล้ว

      What are you talking about? It ran as shown at the end? You don’t understand the point of TH-cam do you? Regardless if it runs at the end does not matter. The video shows people how to service their machines. The video both generates ad revenue and views as well as gets people to subscribe. I could honestly care less if it runs at the end or not. Neither do the majority of people that search for and find my videos.
