    I just did my blades on an HRX. Your video, by far, is the best out there! You were very well explanatory and clear in your wordings. Thank you.

    I finally got the old blades off & thanks to your video I got the new ones back & she's tunning like a brand new machine. I actually broke part of my racket wrench trying to force those old bolts. But I'm happy I got her up & running!

    • @Know-How-Now
      @Know-How-Now 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I should have noted that if the bolt doesn't break loose with a small amount of pressure while using the ratchet (I doubt that I could have enough hand strength to break a ratchet the way I use it in the video), then use a breaker bar. Ratchets can break. Sorry I didn't make more of a point about that.

    Great demo! 👍👍. I use a block of wood to hold the blade in place when I loosen or tighten (torque) the bolts. Stay safe.

    • @Know-How-Now
      @Know-How-Now 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for adding another way to hold the blade, the block of wood might be a better choice for the HRX series, they have a plastic deck.

    You gave very complete and detailed advice.
    I would only like to suggest not using the locking pliers on the HRX because it's deck is plastic.

    • @Know-How-Now
      @Know-How-Now 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for catching that, Wayne. A wood 2x4 across the bottom of the deck may put less stress on the plastic. Cranking the bolts to around 40 foot lbs (recommended for the HRX) is a lot of torque on whatever is used to stop the blade from spinning.

    Hi again, yesterday I commented on your amazing video on toilet fill valve adjustment. Today I just watched your lawn mower blade replacement video also very helpful. I tilted my mower with the filter down and oil leaked into the paper filter. I wish I could have seen your video before this mistake, but that was 6 months ago. So now I know how to do it properly thanks. Your so talented. Also the vice grips good idea my 2x4 kept falling out. Just subscribe and can't wait to watch some more of your videos. 👍🤸😀

    Great video. One more addition would be to put some anti-seize on the bolt threads before reinstalling the bolts. That way, although the bolts protrude through the bracket holes and thus are exposed to moisture and rust, they will not seize on you the next time you have to remove them.

    • @Know-How-Now
      @Know-How-Now ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the thoughtful comment. I did put a little on mine, but was hesitant to suggest it. I've seen fights over anti-seize on bolts and how it changes the torque spec. On the other hand maybe I am not so bright, fighting and controversy gets a lot of attention your video goes to the top of the search page.... more views and more advertising dollars. lol. Have a great day.

    Nice gloves. Recognize them immediately. Those leather shells have outlasted 10s of work gloves I actually paid for. I reserve them for light duty tasks like reaching into burning fire pits, manually stopping running chainsaws and volunteer work for semi aquatic reptilian dental hygiene. They hold up well for a general issue glove out of ft benning supply in 2002. Nice video too. I did need to see a demonstration of the blade change. Well done

      @@Know-How-Now Bought new blades at Home Depot. Changed them 30 minutes ago. They were on there for 9 years. Pre-Soaked bolts with WD-40. Still needed a air impact tool to loosen the. Done deal now. Thanks

    I can't seem to get the bolts loose. I used the Buster & reuse it every day & it won't budge! I cut my thumb & then saw your note about the sharp old blades. If anyone has any suggestions I'm willing to listen. I'm frustrated that they won't budge & now my grass is really growing. Thanks for the great tips!

      I've had good luck with PB Blaster penetrating oil. I got a seat post that was stuck in a bike frame loose. It took 3 days of trying. I'd hit it with Blaster, wack the seat with a rubber mallet a few times. I did this a couple of times a day. It eventually came loose. If you are on good terms with your auto repair shop, you might ask them to try to loosen it with an impact wrench. A good mechanic knows all the tricks... they may be able to get it loose for you.

    They worse and cheaply made blades. Just picked up a new blade set with the same OEM # and it was a bit longer than my old blades causing it to eat the inside of my deck. Honda has gone downhill completely

      Definitely not Honda OEM. Buy from an authorized Honda power equipment shop for the real deal.
