Lovely speech ! You've done so well, it was great to hear that you've made it through the hard times and have found the things that make you happy and feel safe about. Your Mum is just the right one to be there with you all the way through the long process of getting a diagnosis and supporting your choices. My little grandson who is 3 and I look after 5 days a week, is going through the diagnostic process now. His grandfather, an uncle and a cousin are also on the spectrum and are doing well. Grandad and uncle were never diagnosed but found technical things easy for them so did find work and raised families. There are so many things in place here in Nova Scotia, Canada for children in the spectrum but there is a long waiting list to be included . I have actually worked with children in the spectrum since 1974 so I do what I can to help him in his development. He was very frustrated and often had meltdowns because he couldn't talk but in the last little while he started daycare two days a week and now he is talking so much more and making his needs and wants known so he's better able to cope. Your family must be so proud of you for working so hard to find your happiness and I congratulate you! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙋🏼🇨🇦
