- The Kawasaki W175 is the most affordable Kawasaki at Rs. 1.35 lakh. Available in two variants, Standard and Street, the brand wants to offer people a chance to step into the world of Japanese engineering, refinement and reliability. Take a moment, slow down, sit back and relax as Varun Painter goes around the city of Pune and tells you a story.

So indepth scripting and amazing cinematography for a bike which manufacturer itself doesn't focus at all.
We love telling stories and here we are!
@@powerdriftofficial the main story here is Kawa taking its brand loyalists for a ride!
Varun's lectures are not emotions, they are just lectures ❤ 😊
Straight to the point VP says
How beautifully you capture pune and its vibe!❤
So nice of you! ❤
A bike which finds itself in no man's island mostly due to just 1 iconic motorcycle - Classic 350. The RE has already set the bar and expectations for 'the retro experience' more than a decade back. The current market demands either of these 2 things from a retro motorcycle - 1. Light, nimble and plenty powerful with features (Something like XSR155) 2. Big, bulky, but can be pretty basic. (Nothing but RE) .Unfortunately the W175 doesn't slot into any of these categories and tries to carve a niche segment which has virtually 0 takers. Add to that the sparse service network.
Correct observation. I hope atleast Bajaj should try a retro bike in 160/200cc segment. They have capability and they can build a good looking and decently powerful retro as they have already a refined N160 engine with good exhaust note.
Not really. The Classic is way more expensive than this.
@@powerdriftofficial Yes the classic is more expensive, but the J series engine’s worth the upgrade from the puny 175. This product should’ve never hit the market
i feel they should have priced it close to 1 lakh@@powerdriftofficial
@@Mercy789: Yes bajaj will be able to do it, but Bajaj Boxer 150 was there way back of the time. According to me, this Kawasaki and Honda Highness are simply a modified version of Bajaj Boxer in the name of Retro.
Can we do a review on KX series. I know they are overpriced. But India lacks a dirt bike segment. Maybe the video will make kawasaki restrategise their dirt bike pricing or bring new manufacturers in this segment. You have a powerful audience and reach.
Good idea Nalin :D
Agreed. I would love to see something like this, though I am not someone who would buy a dirt bike. Just that anything on wheels with an internal combustion engine is my passion ❤
A bike which is good in itself but might get killed by Indian culture of comparing it to "Sharma ji ka ladka".
Took a test ride of it... It is the cheapest Kawasaki bike (in India) and that's exactly what it felt like 'A cheap Kawasaki'. It's a rudimentary commuter instead of being an aspirational purchase. But the problem is that there are a plethora of 'rudimentary commuters' in our market which perform similarly if not better and have a far more reach in terms of service and cost of maintenance.
This bike is destined to fail and i somehow feel Kawasaki already knows this.
@@TheTwinPost yeah Kawasaki probably knows that but i think it is going for those customers who are nostalgic for the rx100 days , so this is the alternative to that bike 😂
@@random_cocaine4667 One of my friend own a RX135 ...I would take that bike over this without a doubt... That's a 2stroke riot of a machine 🔥
It has a tall mountain to climb
This culture exists everywhere in the world, stop stereotyping India.
Hey thanks for your work..
Want to know that w175 or classic 350? Or any els?
We still have our first Kawasaki champion with us, although we don't ride it anymore. However, we still make sure to keep it alive. ❤
4s champion
Loved to see the team behind the lens. 👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers 🙏🏼❤️
It seems like it could be a good starter bike. What do you think Powerdrift? If it is a comparatively simple bike with a good reliable engine, a sturdy chasis and has a good set of tyres, would it make a good choice for someone looking to make their first ever purchase? Does it provide a room for rider to grow alongside it or is it too limited that a riders will outgrow it in matter of a year? Does it have a new Rider's back when the make mistakes on their learning journey? Would love to hear your views.
Can be. But there are so many options around you.
I have this bike .simple and stylish too.
Performance is also good .
No problem 😊
Good to know :)
I love the simple n light design, hope the engine lives upto kawasaki standard
It’s decent till 80kmph
Good review and importantly, you introduced the team which is commendable.
The bike really seems no nonsense and good. Was waiting for it for long time. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Been a lifetime fan of RX, this looks killer! But unfortunately its quite overpriced in the competitive market
Spot on with the analysis
One of the reason i buy xpulse 200T instead of xpulse 200 was tubeless tyre as well.
Nice Kawasaki Bike.
Yes, true! But this one is tubeless too
@@powerdriftofficial yes you recommended buying tubeless variant over spoke variant in this video.
Bro, can u pls help in choosing a good 160cc bike, Apache 4v / Pulsar ns/ Hornet2.0
Please take a test spin and get it down to the last two
Apache❤❤❤ definitely
At last, a PD video that isn't inundated with loud, grating music. The visuals are stunning. 👌
❤️❤️❤️
Good to see the entire team. There are some channels to which you get emotionally attached. PowerDrift is on the top in my list ❤❤
Made our day Mr Saini :)
Seems fair. I just test rode it today. It’s compact indeed but it also is quite stable and timid. 135kgs weight is exactly what I’m looking for in my next bike.
Here we go!
1:11 There comes the legendary Aaj Tak beat drop 😂😂
Bwahahahahahahahahaha
The video is better than even the bike...but great visuals
Thank you! ☺️
Fantastic Video. Loved the part where you show your team. I think everyone must do this to give credits to the people behind the scenes.
Absolutely!
Thanks for reviewing my bike
Hope you liked our review! :)
Video editing is ❤❤❤ very nice
0:36 very cute doggo behind.
Hahaha yes! ❤️
I subscribed this channel only because watching these cuts😍wow
Very beautiful and cinematic review.
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice review! How does it compare with the hunter 350?
No comparison at all because its a different class altogether
Excellent unbiased review.
Glad you liked it!
It's looking like modern bajaj boxer
and hope this too becomes past like boxer
The design is very simple
Very good cinematography. Would u like to tell What lenses r used ?
Tele, macro, wide 😅
And tell him all the 3 lenses used were prime. He might get confused between prime lenses and Amazon prime😄@@powerdriftofficial
The W175 has that typical silhouette of the 80s and 90s japanese bikes like the RX.
Correct
Yep , I think they should have tweaked a tail section to look like iconic kb Rtz. Would have build some connection to the past.
Bajaj Boxer 150 was there way back of the time. According to me, this Kawasaki and Honda Highness are simply a modified version of Bajaj Boxer in the name of Retro.
That’s the problem with simple motorcycles. There’s hardly any room for experimentation
@@powerdriftofficial : One other biggest problem with Honda Highness was it's a tall gear ratio, really you need to raid only with second and third gear max in cities.
❤one word: Beautiful
Diamond in the rough
What about heating issues near catalytic converter? And spare parts availability
It reminded me of my dad's Rajdoot with round headlamp ❤
❤️❤️❤️
lovely window frames, where was it shot?
Camp, Pune :D
Reminds me of Bajaj Boxer bike back in early 2000s......
Retro!
I want to work in PD. hail #PD Army
Send us your resume mate!
@powerdriftofficial
Varun you're 6'2" right? Can you please tell us what motorcycles are best for your frame? Only based on how comfortable you find it on long rides.
VP asks if you want to ask about a motorcycle in particular?
@@powerdriftofficial nothing particular. Most Indian bikes seem to be optimised for like 5 feet 8 inches people. Varun could rate some motorcycles purely based on how comfortable he finds it for his own body size.
Ameeron ki Bajaj CT
Damn!
Can't be more accurate
The perfect comment I was looking for 😂
Wahi main soch raha tha kaha dekha hai yeh looks😂😂😂
In your RTR 310 vs Duke 250 video, i commented that the memes thrown in between were reducing the quality of your videos and they were quite an annoyance.
I'm so happy to see that this video has been edited and written beautifully! This video was splendid and i have viewed it multiple times already, just to marvel at the clean and elegant presentation. Kudos!
Thanks for that!
I think this also gives a option to modify as per our taste, provided the engine is up to standards
It’s not the most refined after 80kmph.
@@powerdriftofficial well that's not helpful at all🥲
looks like a varient of the 25000 petrol toy bike sold on instagram with varun on it..
Hahahahah
I love this bike but i think they should provide rear disc brake with little wider tyre. Nice review 👍
That would be cool! Thank you
Kawasaki w175 or Hero xpulse 200t which one u suggest for highways..
Neither. But if it’s really between the two, we believe the 200 will feel better on the highway
We need these kind of motorcycles too! People these days think that motorcycles should only be built for the young populace only. What would the older gen ride? R15? Older gen needs light, comfortable motorcycle with sufficient hp/torque with forward set foot pegs and single seats, there are very few options , mostly the 100cc bikes! Every other bike is sporty, sporty is fine but it's not the comfortable option always
Are the gears short or tall? Can this do 30km/hr in 4th gear?
It can yes.
I'd like to gift this to my father...
That makes two of us
@@navithakhooPlus 1
Please make sure you take a test spin :)
Joke of the day😅
What about engine heating and service cost?
There is no clarity on service cost yet but the heat is definitely not a problem
What took you so long man. Have been waiting for this review.
Apologies on the delay! Hope you liked this review. :)
Did you take it on a highway and was it good to hold 90?
It can but its not pleasant
You're better off with the Hunter350 if you want to hold 90kmph
There are Many negative reviews for this w175 in last year, there are many videos out there to see. hope they solved the problem now.
This is the Street btw. Also, the pricing has been dropped from last year.
Please do a review of the Kawasaki Eliminator as well.
That’s next.
The Way He Review The The Bike is Like....Just Looking ki A Wow kya just Looking Like A.....👍
😅
What do you think about the headlight??
Its very basic. Could have been better
Best in class
Does this bike have heating issues ? How good is air cooled system and exhaust heat protection on this bike? Please let me know.
No heating issues at all. Its barely making 13 horses for a 177cc engine
@@powerdriftofficial thank you.
Not sure why, I felt so happy after seeing this video... ❤
Glad to know that Aravind
Nice to meet the Team 🙂👍🏻
The team likes this comment :D
good one
mileage ?
Claimed is 45kmpl
What about the heating issues.
Nothing to complain about
Excellent Review !
Glad you liked it!
Anyone noticed the resemblance to Yamaha RX100?
It doesssssss!
I could be wrong but isn't this what the average middle class Indian wants?
We wanna move on from the 100-125 cc bikes that our dad drives and also looking for something retro/trendy. Apart from that going up the engine capacity means compromising on mileage so better to settle around the 180-200cc market.Mix that with Japanese reliability and I think it's the perfect blend. They just need to market this right. I've definitely got my eyes on this one!
Nevermind I'm 6'4 this is a dealbreaker 😭
Hahaha. You sort of answered this yourself
@@jatin2866I m 6 and I got it..I m insecure..not
at least they should provide disc on rear
+1
Hi Varun, why you don't recommend spoke wheel. They are classic styling and is also present in W800
VP says punctures are a pain in the behind
I like this kind of design. If yamaha doesn't launch rx100 or sr400 then I will go for thisbone as I want a straight like retro design.
The good -
175cc, 13bhp, 13.2Nm of torque.
The bad -
Useable top speed is just 80kmph, buzzy post that. Not acceptable.
1.35 lakhs (ex-showroom), which means its going to be uncomfortably close to the 1.5 lakh mark on road in Bangalore.
Overall build quality, lack of a reliable service network.
I am exactly 6ft tall, currently ride a 2020 Bajaj CT110 and just love it to bits. When I saw that side shot of Varun on the bike, that was the final nail in the coffin. It looks much smaller than my bike. As much as I crave for simple, no nonsense, no connectivity bikes, I ain't buying this one.
Thanks for summarising this :)
Please review Xpulse Pro edition and also suggest height requirement for the same.
Stay tuned for that video in our Unroute series.
There was no mention about the brakes, right?
VP says the brakes lacked feel and didn't have enough stopping power.
Liked for introducing the team ❤
Cheers!
When can we expect full review of Hero xtream 125R sir?
Very very soon bud!
chrome and spoked rims complement it's design.
Looks retro :D
Looks great, but I personally think it looks better with the stripes on the tank.
Gotcha
Can you guys do a review of cb300r after the price cut
Honda does not have a media unit
Can you review Keeway SR250 bike?
If we get a media unit, sure!
i think the time for cafe racers is over before it even began... people either go for a simple machine(like this one) or a tech-laden Adventure tourer
Yeah. This is simple, really simple.
What is the fuel economy like?
Claimed is 45kmpl
Still looks better than that doodhwala toy named FZ-X
The FZ-X lacks basic appeal we agree
Will the colourist drop a tutorial...oh my God this is speechless...
Ok i just reached end and saw you have credited them 🙌🔥nice
Yesssssssss
How much mileage per lt
There is a claimed number.
Will it be convenient for rural India ???
What about service and parts ????
Advanced version of CT100, slpender, platinum etc
Its actually a lot better than the motorcycles that you mentioned here
If only the price was simplistic.
Yeah. Still a problem
This bike will be serviced at Kawasaki service centres at the same hourly rate super bikes command.
Looks like Bajaj Kawasaki Caliber 110 cc
Oh hoooo
Leave the bike .. the camera work and editing rocks..
Cheers Arun
Pls review/compare the two newly launched CKD/CBUs by Kawasaki and Honda. Kawasaki Eliminator and Honda NX500; they are different bikes but launched at similar price point and may also have similar ownership issues being Imports.
The Eliminator review is being prepped :D
On the other hand, Honda does not have a media unit for the NX
Is it E20 enabled?
Female pillion rider left side foot rest missing
Where would you get accessories like leg guard, tail rack etc
Kawasaki has a bunch of accessories for the W!
@@powerdriftofficial Thanks
Is it E20 updated
@@powerdriftofficialwhere are they available
Pls describe more
I hate it when reviewers do not mention the mileage.
Apologies Nikhil!
Has a bajaj boxer design with nice colors. This motorcycle could grow on you.
But its the riding experience that matters
@@powerdriftofficial agreed.
Not a practical bike as commuter or single one. It is for those people who already own a 650cc/1000cc Kawasaki big bike and wanted a small one for errand.
Reasons?
1. Very very limited customer touch points of Kawasaki.
2. Expensive service and parts.
3. The bike itself has less features and power compare to the other bikes available at the price.
4. Definitely when you buy a 150cc+ bike you want it to ride regularly on the highway long rides, but this one will not be possible, due to many reasons.
5. The single engine which may be discarded by the company in future which is obvious, but when?
If you buy a bike today, then go for the engine which is available in multiple different bikes and cars for long future use like 10/15 years.
Take the example of RE (J series/650cc series) or Kawasaki itself with 650cc/1000cc.
Very well summarised. :D
It looks a lot like a Bajaj CT100 the Round headlight model.. I think kawasaki shud have put more efforts in a smaller bike
Yes, exactly
Two Wheels and an engine, and a headlight, and a break system and a petrol tank......
And a seat and suspension and mirrors. We can go on and on
*Brake
It's nice but no showroom in my city
The network is a bit of a problem yes
