I've been riding mine since 2018 here in Saigon. No technical issues after 25000 km. It's a beautiful bike and well built, doesn't consume much gasoline. It's suitable for riding around the city and most comfortable in the 40-60 km/h range. Once you ride faster than 70 km/h the engine revs pretty high (which is why I'm upgrading to a RE 650 Interceptor soon). Nonetheless, it's a good entry-level bike for city traffic and certainly looks great. Just add leather saddlebags for rain gear and a toolkit.

Try to check with barako specs, it it the same engine but bored higher.
Thanks for reviewing this model. I really appreciate the useful tidbits of information you cover in your reviews. I'm drawn to these UJM types lately and had the chance to take a close look at the W250 (after viewing your vid on Kawis). I like the 250's styling cues and specially the featherbed-type frame which seems to take after the vintage Manx/Norton models of the 60s. I just can't find a good reason to plunk down P300k when it's only 72cc, 4hp and 5Nm more than this W175 which sells for P123k? I asked the salespeople what makes the 250 much more expensive and their answer? "It's made in Japan." Seriously? At first glance, I noticed right away the fasteners on the top yoke and they're all standard hex bolts instead of allens. Then the rear brake pedal looked like plain old steel painted black. I expected the wheel rims to be aluminum but they're steel, too. Maybe I'm nitpicking here but I expect to find better components for THAT price. All I want is a light roadster to get around the metro without roasting my thighs from the engine heat and see the countryside without worrying if it has enough power to get over the steep hill. Maybe the W175 is the more practical answer.

@@Janggo1911 Frankly, the finish of the W250 did not meet my expectation of "Japanese made" maybe because of the flaky black finish on most parts. I also thought it would have the classic bevel drive found on the W400/650/800 series. Chrome just makes things look more refined. Maybe I'm biased because the finish on the Yam SR400 is just leagues above what I saw on the W250. I'm old and starting to feel the strain on my right knee from kickstarting the SR over and over. Which is why I'm looking for an alternative ride just in case I wake up one morning and can't muster the energy to kick the damn thing. I just love to ride even if I'm only going in circles.

Why can't you just ad a bigger tire? You don't need a rear disc on a bike this light. Your front brake does 90% of the work

@@Janggo1911 People who buy smaller displacment bikes aren't looking to go on the hightway, they usuall take on the role of a scooter. It's somenthing to run errands around town on or as a daily work commuter (becuase it's lightweight and fuel efficient). Look at how well the grom has sold here. W175 needs to come here, such a good looking bike.

I really want to own this bike. But for me it's too expensive for a simple 175cc bike. It's not worth it. I think this bike is worth for only 90k not 123k.
