I love this song. The recorded version is beautiful of course, but if you REALLY wanna feel it, you need to listen to him sing it live at the Farm Aid concert. Just an older Jamie and his acoustic guitar. POWERFUL!
My brother passed away last night and we will be playing this song at his funeral. I have seen Jamie sing it at farm-aid but not this version until now. There were shades of George Jones in his voice.
Wishing you all the love and strength Lorrie. We’re in the same situation with my stepmother currently. She won’t live to see her 77th birthday, nor the 35th year of marriage with my father, not even this September. 😢
I had an NDE in 2018 and it's like walking through a door and I could see down on myself n also seen my grandfather that past 19 years before and he walked up to me but he didn't have two legs and always blind in his right eye my entire life but he looked amazing. I also spoke to God which originally sounded like thunder rolling but he said " My son it's not your time you need to go back for you have many great things yet to do. I'm not afraid of dying at all. I know where I'm going and it's such an amazing feeling of being engulfed by the warmest loving feeling like I've never felt in my earthly body. Thank you, Jesus
I chose this song for my big brother's funeral. Mom had neve heard it before, but agreed we had to play it. He passed away this past March. This song brings tears to my eyes, and comfort to my heart. RIP Tim I love and miss you big brother!
The last song that my girlfriend and I shared! We were best friends and in love for 48 years! She passed this time last year from copd! We spoke for the last time 2hrs before she passed! She was ready to go home to be with the Lord! Bless to you and yours!

Played this at my baby brothers wake. He died suddenly. It was on his picture video from when he was little.
"That Lonesome Song", "Cost Of Livin High" and "Redneck Side Of me".....!!!!
Wow! That was a heavy song but really well done. Enjoyed it as well as your comments! Great request!
I didn't think there could be a song more painful than listening to Johnny Cash singing hurt but this one gives it a run for its money ...
Wow.This is beautiful ❤️ jus like ur there w him
Thanks Lady Gator, another one here. Love this live. ❤

Jamey wrote many songs for others before becoming an artist himself...

check out James Blunt (Monster). If you want a tear in your eye
Not a country fan, and far from religious, but this kept me listening now my stepmother is in the last days of her life. 😢
Get that Les Paul standard out. He backed up Blackberry Smokes tour Last year. Legendary
This song is my favorite by Jamey Johnson. His most famous song is "In Living Color".
My funeral song will be What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong
