Did you have to do the change of appearance or signature form? I’m a little confused about whether that is applicable to me or not, since I am renewing after 10 years, but I was technically an adult then
@@oishanisengupta yes, I did fill up the change of appearance form and attached a photo with it, but checked the option saying "my appearance hasn't changed".

b) Received passport in 4 business days.
c) Post police verification for address change done after the passport is dispatched from consulate

In my case , i am applying for Tatkal process for renewal of passport for myself (adult). The address remains the same between old the new passport. If I get passport renewed in tatkal , in say 1 week , can i immediately travel , or should I wait for police verification to complete in indian address.

Hi . Yes I was able to travel without issues. PVR happened only very late and it was not bothered by anyone .

If it’s same document you can staple it , do not staple different documents, use paper clips for that.. eg : you can staple all the pages of passport copy but do not staple yours and your wife’s passport copy use paper clips for that

One in application and one change of appearance and one extra photo (this one they might return along with the new passport if they didn’t use)

We have "Received" your Application however we are unable to proceed with the application due to the following reasons:
Additional documents : Provide a signed consent letter to print the parents' name the same as in the current applicant's passport, no data changes are allowed under TATKAAL service...

My Mailing address (residential address) (this is the address where I wish to receive my passport) and the address (leasing office address as I use this address in state id/DL) mentioned in govt online application form are different. Both are USA address. One of the guidelines mentioned in application confirmation letter says Your return shipping address must match with the proof of address submitted as part of your application. Since, I have made the payment and got the fedex courier label. I can't edit the shipping address. May I know what has to be done in such case? Or I should send address proof for shipping address too in the package?

Hope you are well. Following is my query. In the Common Mistakes section at the bottom of the Tatkal checklist, it is mentioned "If you have more than 1 original Passport , then you need to provide the copies of all the passports". Does this mean that we have to submit the first 5 and last 2 pages from previous, expired passports in addition to that of the current passport? I have 2 expired passports in addition to my soon-to-expire passport. Thanks a lot :)
I think that requirement is for more than 1 valid passport ( in case of diplomatic or dual citizenship) .. but for safer side you can include your previous expired passport copies.. no issues with it

I had a question about the address. I'm in the process of applying for renewing my passport. I'm having trouble with address proof. I have an address proof for a place I just moved into two months back in the USA but I don't have any address proof for an Indian address.
As my dad has a transferable job so my family has already moved out of the last Indian address on my passport, and now I don't have Indian address proof. So should I use the USA address as my printable address and use my dad's family house address where one of my relatives still lives for my other address in the application. But do I still have to provide address proof for the Indian address if it's the other address?
So I'm just confused with which address to use as print address and do they ask for an address proof for other address as well if I put the USA address as printed and Indian as for the other address.

Yes even if your Indian address is mentioned in the other address you have to provide address proof, but you can also provide address proof if its in your fathers name ..

Yes, recently they changed it to 70 days rule . So your application should not be older than 70 days

@SUJA prakash, instead of choosing Houston as vfs address, selected Chicago as VFS address will it be any problem?
You should only select the consulate under which your residing state comes.. if you choose the wrong one then the application will get rejected
Hi Suja, I have started my tatkal process and your videos are extremely helpful. I have filled and Govt passport application form and printed but under previous PP details section, old passport file number it’s showing in small letters, but I typed in Capital letters only as far as I remember, will it be an issue? not sure whether it’s their system issue all other sections shows everything in caps. I tried sending a message to VFS today but when I put ARN number it’s showing like error, red box is it because I haven’t paid VFS fee yet so their system isn’t recognizing? I tried removing the hash and typed the ARN number still it wasn’t going through. Please let me know.
if you haven't paid your fees then i would suggest you to make new application with right details ..
@@SujaPrakash Sorry for late reply. Actually I called VFS after that and they said to submit the application and if any query they will let me know, but there was no issues and I got my passport in 8 days. Thank you so much for your videos, it was very helpful to do the renewal process.

1. For the appearance change it says we cannot apply in Tatkal. So in order to apply under Tatkal should I select option as appearance has not changed in the affidavit and then get it attested?
2. My H1B visa has expired but I have a valid I797 approval notice that's valid till 2023. Can I still apply under Tatkal? Please clarify these 2 queries. Thank you.

Mandatory : PROOF OF ADDRESS in (Color-copy, Notarized (with Stamp and Notary signature)
Proof of address must match with the present address as per application: (any ONE of the below documents)
- State Issued ID OR
- Driving license OR
- Utility Bill - Water (should be recent, no more than 3 months old) OR
- Utility Bill - Gas (should be recent, no more than 3 months old) OR
- Utility Bill - Electricity (should be recent, no more than 3 months old) OR
- Valid Lease Agreement OR
- Valid Lease Agreement (Either main page of lease which has the address, or the signature page need to be notarized)
checklist has "Applicants must write their Indian address / last known Indian address in the Passport Application Form. This could be in either the ‘To be printed on Passport’ or ‘Other Address Details’ columns or the same Indian address can be mentioned in both the columns. "

Hi Suja, I’ve downloaded courier label on Jan 3rd, but couldn’t post the documents then. I have now downloaded the courier label again today for posting the documents, but the label by default is showing Jan 3rd as the shipping date, can this label shipping date be altered at fedex office? Or is there a better work around for updating the label? Thank you for your help.
You can use the same label , don’t worry about the date mentioned in it ..
Hi Suja - I submitted online application form for passport renewal and also paid the fee, now i realized there a small correction in the application form, will customer care correct the mistake or i need to start a new application and pay the fee again ?
Also, Will I get full refund for my previous application, In my payment there's tatkal fee, courier fee, passport fee, icwf fee, vfs service fee.
Incomplete application: If the application is not completed within 20 calendar days, then VFS will return your application unprocessed. In this scenario, the Consular and ICWF fee will be refunded post deduction of applicable postal charges (if applicable). Photocopy documents received after 20 days will be shredded and originals if any received will be returned to the Embassy of India or Consulate General of India. Applicants should contact the Embassy of India or Consulate General of India directly to receive their original documents, once VFS returns the original documents to the Embassy of India or Consulate General of India. In this scenario, only the Consular and ICWF fee will be refunded post deduction of applicable postal charges (if applies).
Hi Suja, I was applying for passport renewal and father's name in my current passport has a small part abbreviated - the last word in his last name has just the initial written. When I looked in his passport, that part seems to expanded in full. Do I provide my father's name in accordance to my passport or in accordance to his passport ?
If your changing your fathers name accordingly to his passport then please provide proof of that .. you can send a copy of this passport along with birth certificate

1. Below the list of Category of applicants are not eligible to apply under Tatkal Passport Scheme: Change of Appearance (Minors can apply) .
But we are providing Affidavit for change of Appearance and Signature. Will they accept our application if we apply under Tatkal process and provide Affidavit of Change of appearance and signature?
2. Can I produce Notarized affidavit of my BANK STATEMENT with address as a PROFF OF ADDRESS in USA ?

@@blasttrash I too have the same question. I want to apply for passport renewal in tatkal. do i need to select "Appearance" in the online form and provide "change of appearance" affidavit?, Please help! Thanks!
@@sudsanch8287Yeah I provided "change of appearance" form and was able to get it in tatkal. Only thing is those pdfs that they give are not easily editable in adobe etc, so I had to use some online editor. Also do note that in the checklist they mention that "they dont accept hand written forms" so make sure to update all those forms using a PC and then print them and just use pen for signing.

2, I want to add the US address to my passport. do i need to provide an Indian address proof as well?
@@sudsanch82871. I didnt have any change of parent name etc so I didnt have any self attested copies.
2. Yes I only sent address proof for my US address. And in my passport, they printed US address.
Hi Suja. Greetings to you. I applied for passport renewal in tatkal and i received email saying”police verification request has been sent”. This is to verify my Indian address.My question here is, is it normal to have police verification in Tatkal or did i miss to add any supportive document ?
It’s normal process only

You need to submit valid status proof so if your current status is expired then you can’t

You have to have approval if your previous i797 or visa is expired

Hello Suja. Hope you are well. I have a question regarding providing the proof for the printable address and also the second (non-printable) address . I am not sure if this has been asked already here. Apologies in case I have overlooked it.
1. I am going to print my Indian address on the passport. I understand I have to submit a notarized copy of the proof. Can I use my aadhaar card as the proof? The list of acceptable documents mentioned under the “Proof of Address” section states State issued ID among other things. Is aadhaar card an acceptable state issued ID since it’s basically issued from the central govt.
Aadhaar card is the only thing I have with me in the US. If this is not acceptable, what else can I do to provide this proof? If it helps, my Indian address has not changed from what is printed in the latest passport. So I am also not sure if I need to provide a proof at all. In case I do, please let me know what options are viable.
2. My second address is an US address, which is not the one that will be printed. Do I need to provide a notarized address proof for it as well?

1) you don’t have to notarize Indian address proof only US address proof had to be notarized
2) self attest Indian address proof copy

To confirm, point no. 7 of the mandatory document section of the checklist refers to the US address we are currently residing at. This is applicable even when we print the Indian address on the passport. Thanks once again :)

Hi Suja, Thanks for the detailed video. In my old passport I have my village address and now my family moved to Hyderabad. I'm giving Hyderabad address as printable address but I do not have any address proof on my name in Hyderabad. Can I give my parents/brother Hyderabad address for address proof?
