Just finished fitting a HD kit to my 105 series 1hz. Going to give it its first run tomorrow. When i had questions about the kit and exhaust you guys were very helpful. Thanks again.
@@hd_hayden Hi Hayden, first impressions after first run. Very happy. Notable increase in power through all gears. Thats with your ct26 turbo kit, a 3" system with a hotdog, and 1/8 of turn on the inj pump. Once i fit a boost / egt gauge, i may turn the fuel up a fraction more. All in all, very happy with it. Thanks.
Two questions: No 1. What is the maximum turbo boost produced for engine longevity? Q2. What is your opinion of a Garret ball bearing turbo? Cheers 105/1hz owner
So that 1hz is making roughly the same power and torque as a stock vdj79? 138hp/103kw and 350nm is roughly what I have seen on other videos with stock 79s.
hello I need help please I want to put a turbo on my 1hz but I have read that the pistons crack, others say that the turbo will work. As a specialist, what do you recommend I do? And what basic steps should I take? thank you
Just dont "P-plate" tune it mate, have it tuned after installing everything by someone reputable or better yet HD auto themselves. Ran 1hz turbo for 14 year never had an issue, doesn't get hot, doesn't use oil. Do it once, do it right. 👍
Cheers for the vid mate. Im interested in what you said about the late model 105s having more options for tuning... Wondering what these were and what years its in?? looking at buying a 105... Cheers!
Hey bro what's your professional opinion on getting internals + an intercooler? Say ARP studs and billet pistons with bigger injectors and an intercooler. Do you think she'll hold or that's a recipe for disaster??? Kind regards, Joey
What is the EGTs settling at on a long hill towing (i.e. delivering those tuned power 120 with a horsebox on a warm day) ? It is no use making power if you cannot use it !!!! Show me the video of the power being used . . . .
I have a freshly built 1hz with fte rods, ceramic coated pistons, 12mm boost compensated pump, hi flow ct26, 3inch exhaust. I still need to put a front mount on it. What do you think a safe target power would be?
Hey mate There’s too many unknowns here. What brand ct26? There’s so many brands that are “highflow” that I wouldn’t recommend anyone go near what so ever Who built the time and how also plays a massive factor in it as 90% of 12mm pumps for a 1HZ are not build by performance shops and just some standard diesel shop having a crack at increasing the fueling on a stock pump. There’s more to just throwing more fuel at these things that needs to be done to keep them alive
@hd_hayden cheers for the detailed reply mate! Engine was built by Oscar mechanic in Perth. He seems really good but his not my mechanic. Big on only using Toyota genuine parts when rebuilding an engine. Seems like %90 of what he does is hz, hd t and hd ftes ect. He would have sourced the pump and turbo. I understand that those are unknowns but assuming a quality pump and ct26. What is the SAFE limit to an inter cooled 1hz with ceramic pistons in your opinion. Ie assuming supporting mods are good what can the engine safely handle. I have searched hi and low but it's hard to actually find an expert having a detailed discussion on the ins and outs of a turbo hz.
Legend! I need to replace my JB CT26 turbo before it does what they’re known to do and I’m liking the sound of these Arashi’s. When does peak boost come on? Also do you guys sell these turbos separately? Cheers Hayden
Hi Ash, what is the exact spec /nameof this turbo upgrade kit. Does it include intercooler? I want to do this on my 1HZ motor in my 100 series cruiser.
For some reason, I read "1HZ" as "1JZ" and thought you swapped a competent I6 into these turds 😅 (turd as in, slow, not as in the truck sucks, I love Land Cruisers and wish we got more of them in the States, we never get anything good 😖)
Thea's engines are a dog gutless for the engine liitre Need better injection spray pattern lift injection pressure except the rotary pump won't handle it😮
@@hd_hayden Turbocharging indirect injection (IDI) diesel engines can present several challenges and potential issues. Here are some reasons why it is generally not recommended: Heat Management: IDI diesel engines have a pre-combustion chamber where the fuel is initially ignited before it spreads to the main combustion chamber. This design inherently produces more heat compared to direct injection (DI) engines. Adding a turbocharger increases the intake air pressure and density, which can raise combustion temperatures even further, potentially leading to overheating and increased thermal stress on engine components. Compression Ratio: IDI engines typically have higher compression ratios than DI engines. While high compression is beneficial for efficiency and torque, it can make the engine more susceptible to knocking and pre-ignition when turbocharged, especially under high boost pressures. Fuel Efficiency: Turbocharging can improve power output, but IDI engines are generally less fuel-efficient compared to DI engines. The added complexity and fuel consumption from turbocharging might not result in significant overall efficiency gains. Engine Stress: The internal components of an IDI engine, such as the pistons, connecting rods, and crankshaft, might not be designed to handle the additional stress and pressure from a turbocharger. This can lead to reduced engine longevity and potential mechanical failures.

No intercooler needed? nice results 🎉
Intercooler is needed just not used. Fail
You do need a charge air cooler just didn't fit one
The extra power would probably blow the bigend bearings

Interesting. Is this Arashi turbo support water cooling?
Yes it does
Do you have a link where I can get one of these kits?

Do u do a kit for 98 coaster my 1hz is a slug because i am nearly pulling 5T as it's a motorhome

Can these run on just oil or does the water cooling need to be hooked up too?
Just oil is fine!
