I prefer these on course test rather than someone hitting dry ball data to a wall , real on course testing can’t be beat , brilliant video 👍
Interesting!! I’m a p790 player. Don’t think that I would make the change to p770. One thing that you haven’t mentioned is how much your distance falls off the p770 when you don’t get it out of the middle! Smaller heads = less forgiveness!!
Great to see Lewis again, I’d love to combo all three, I do have the older p 770 and manage a 4 iron off the tee, the tungsten really helped in those longer irons.
I demo’d the 770s today out of curiosity. I was totally blown away and I’ll be getting my order in very shortly. Never wanted a TM iron before but these are just something else. The other new irons look great too, but I need the extra help the 770 gives without the size of the 790. TM have got a massive hit on their hands
Did you find hitting the 770s on par with the 790s? I like the idea of a smaller head. I'm about a 13-14 handicap and normally hit my 7 iron (32 degree) about 155-160. I like the idea of gaining some distance but since the 770 is about a degree weaker than my JPX 850 forged, I'm worried about losing distance which I definitely don't want to do.
Chase Kang I didn’t hit the 790s for long but total carry was the same as the 770, with better spin numbers on the 770.
I couldn’t hit the 790 as well as the 770, possibly because I’m gaming a much smaller head in mp-18 sc.
The 770 is 1 deg stronger than mine in the 7 iron but was about 1 club longer carry distance. Very consistent as well, I kept hitting the same carry number (within a couple of yards) over and over again.
@@JonathanMundy0 That boggles my mind that the carry numbers would be so close between the two despite the huge disparity in lofts, but I keep reading similar testimonials. I was hitting the 790 7 iron about 185 carry on several different launch monitors which is crazy (hit a club similar to my own about 160-165). I definitely don't want to moon balls over the green with the 790 either so if the 770 falls somewhere in the middle, I think that's where I'm going to lean. Thanks for the input!
Chase Kang no worries. I carried both at 180. But I could do that consistently with the 770 and with much better spin numbers than the 790. That and the fact that I just couldn’t get on with the 790. Even topped a couple out of nowhere. The fitter couldn’t get me out of that and back in the 770 quick enough after the second top 🤣

Same but for me its between P770/750 combo and 921 Tour/forged combo. Both look incredible.

@@ChinchillaisGod 921 Tour/Forged (maybe HMP 4i) are in play for me, also. I don't think I'll look at a combo set of the TMs, though. Too much difference in construction between the 770 and a one-piece forged CB.
The B Roll master of the golfing world is back at it. NO ONE else can make a club comparison video this visually pleasing and interesting. Tremendous. Love the look of these clubs!
I just ordered the P770’s and cannot wait to get them in. Unfortunately I’ll have to wait until mid November to receive them from TaylorMade. I didn’t realize I was buying my Christmas gift at the time. I hit the P790’s and the P770’s and felt that the P790’s were a bit firmer feeling off the face. The look of the P770’s are fantastic.
I have just got some P770s and they are bloody good. I don't know if I missed it, but where's the course in the video?

Great review Guys, I must admit that the TM P770 is one of the best looking Irons that I have ever seen and if they perform as good as they look TM have a winner on their hands!
Only downside is price (and current availability!!) Bandit, but for some that's not an issue. TM vs Mizuno is gonna be epic next year!
@@Boss302ATC Totally agree Neal, that the two new line ups from TM & Mizuno look to be pretty awesome and listening to the Guys at TXG the lead-times from TM are extending into next year! The RRP certainly looks to be on the high side, but I'm sure that once TM have overcome their supply chain issues that the actual retail prices will start coming down.

I agree. Love the look of the Mb, but probably couldn’t hit them. Don’t like those grooves on the Mc at all.
Just ordered the P770's w/ LZ 6.0. Had the Cobra Tour MIM since mid last year but needed to change shafts to fit my swing timing a bit more, and the Cobra's always felt "heavy". Turns out that with the shaft change to LZ 6.0 the 7i came in at 440g with a SW of D5, and even with the old C-Taper Lites it came in a 430g SW of D6 (Arcos) ...Looks like bad QC at Cobra. Got a great trade in deal and will get the 770's at the end of January, hoping their QC is better.

Great review. I got custom fitted for the P790’s last year after changing from my Titleist AP2’s and it was truly a game changer for me. Looks and feels fantastic but it was the feel and forgiveness that blew me away. I’ve recently tried the P770’s but couldn’t find a big enough difference to change. Great clubs. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Are the 770s lofted weaker than the 790s? If so, you’d never know considering how evenly they match up
they are, I was surprised they didn't talk about that considering they were flying about the same. Wondering if he has weaker lofts than stock on his 790's

The p770s may be the best looking irons I've ever seen. Feel was great, just did the taylormade fitting and opted for the p790s due to the forgiveness.
Same but I still prefer the look of the 790. If the muscle back of the 770 wasn’t so sharply cut out by the toe I think the 770 would look even better and I might have gone with them instead. From address they look very very similar IMO. It’s almost hard to tell which is which and I can usually spot the differences out.
What loft does he have in this 790 ? They are pretty strong loftet, so has he gotten his loft tweaked weaker ? Thats the only thing holding me from playing the 790 is the strong lofts, but not sure how they will play, if you weakend the lofts
That’s what i was wondering because the distances were identical with weaker stock lofts in the 770s

Those 770s looks sexy. I just bought my 790s 4 months ago. Now I have to spend more money even when I trade in my 790s.

What would you compare the blade length and top line of the p770 to ? Is it similar to the T100/ or T200 ?
T100 is same as p7mc top line p770 top line isn’t far off the p790.. 1mm maybe 1.5mm thinner
What golf course is this?
I don't see how you can combo these with the P790 given how different the lofts are.
You simply weaken or strengthen lofts to suit, this is why forged clubs have such flexibility
Do not buy clubs just to show off to your mates ,, and when it comes to hitting them they are all over the place ,, other people don’t see your clubs ,but they do see your shots
Great video but I think you need to read up on the rule of thirds when shooting
Rule of thirds might apply to traditional filmmaking but that’s not something we are looking to achieve 👍

The P790 feels very hard off the face, IMO. P760, by contrast, are the softest irons I’ve ever hit.
It has to be mentioned..Lewis seems to have lost a few pounds around the midriff. I’m sure the McDonalds diet includes the egg white variant 😁
Are his 790 clubs the same loft as the 770
No mate p770 are weaker lofted 9 iron is 1.5 weaker, 7 iron 2.5 weaker
Average Golf Pro cool does that mean the weaker loft goes same distance then as a stronger lofted p790 . Does it look like it flies higher

I won’t change my 790’s. These 770’s look just like a repackaged 790. Nothing ground breaking here. And the Price!!!!!
Save your money and buy some 790’s. Never buy the newest and hottest clubs.
