Thanks for the video. Picked on up. Have you found a cargo net to fit it yet? I've had no luck. Painting mine with truck bed liner spray to see if I can ward off some of the light rusting you are seeing. Again, thanks for the video.
Love mine on my Rav Limited.. l didn't use those tiny screws and rubber washers on the rack sides since rack isn't going to come apart after installation ... Wife bought me a small long metal Fender guitar 🎸 show plate that I installed over the HMaster decal ... Had someone asked where I purchased the Fender roof rack , and is there a Gibson rack available ??? Too Funny 😅. Nevertheless, the rack is absolutely fine for it price point 😊 .. Wife and I use it for our camp chairs , hammocks, tool box, etc.. that all lay in the rack nicely.. 😊😊😊 😉
Great video, I did an 8 month review of ours but we live in the PNW and park in the garage when we are home so no rust or fading for us thankfully! Thanks for uploading.
Thank you for saving me several hundred dollars. Your first video, then this one -- SOLD. I can get a gross of cans of Rustoleum for the price difference, LOL.
I have a bed cap on my truck but no roof rack on it. Could this bolt directly to the roof without having a rack if you left the bottom of those brackets off and used bolts to secure it? Weird question, but I can't tell too well from the videos if it'd have enough clearance to mount like that lol
Yes you could do it that way and it looks like it would work fairly well. You would still have about an inch of clearance between the bottom of the rack and your topper...
whole thing is already rusted..... theres something you can buy that you brush on and neutralizes the rust and i believe is a paint in one. i forget what its called but you should be able to get it from home depot.
Yeah, Rustoleum has a new spray paint and brush on rubberized paint that converts rust and seals the metal from rusting further. Walmart sells it in the automotive section. People are raving about in reviews I've seen so it might be some good stuff for this application.

Just picked this up yesterday at my local HF. It AZ, not expectin' that rust but was an informative watch. Thank ya.
Thanks! You should be fine in AZ as you don't have the humidity we have in FL

Good to know. Thinking of getting one. May spray it with a Rhino lining prior to install. Help prevent rust issues

do you keep your car in the garage at night and do you live in close to the ocean ? that could accelerate the rusting process
I do live close to the ocean...

Yeah that is the only problem with it...

Thanks for the video but I'm going to pass on this Harbor Freight item.
Its not bad but thee are definitely better choices...
Just spray it with Rustoleum Rubberized Rust converter and sealant when you get it and reapply every couple of years and it should last a long time.
