I would cut to length. I think Haul Master just provides these to adapt to various thicknesses. My question is, does it make noise going down the road at 70?
Drove it loaded from Texas to Disney at speeds up to 75 MPH without incident or noise.
1. Your Knobs are upside down. 2. The covers will fit flush into the knobs over the U bolt ends when they are installed right side up.
Tried that originally. Maybe I did something wrong, but that arrangement caused an unlevel surface area so that's why I inverted them.
