@@kyaiifor me aswell. I tbh just used Nourish. Hits people with viral, buffs dmg, gives energy, and staggers some. So that's 2 easy status procs for my Hound. I just need to apply 1 more status and then the mod you get from Cetus will cause the cooldowns be reduced by 3 seconds. My Hounds never died while I was playing SP survival due to the buffs.

I use nourish bc I want to have negative efficiency and have viral procs so I can do viral and corrosive dmg plus whatever I use on my weapon to meet the requirements for the new pet mod that decreases their ability cooldowns if you kill someone with 3 different status applied. Makes it very easy to proc the condition so my Hound is spamming stuff. Never dies bc of it.
We never knew he had it in him. He was bullied so mercilessly for being a literal mellow puddle that it drove him to become greedy and caustic to reach his true potential.
Hydroid with corrosive / gas electric + exodia force. I tried this and immidiately noticed how busted it is with plunder giving the stacking corrosive damage. Hit a group with his 1, then 3. And start swinging. Was taking down 140 SP gunners in 2 hits. This would be even more broken with wrathful advance. The other thing I want to try is larva on his 2. Paired with archon continuity + larva burst.

I replaced his 4th with nourish and I'm running a high strength build with 50% efficiency. Nourish gives viral infusion, his 3rd gives big corrosive damage and combine those with a gas torid and it's a hot knife through butter for steel path. 400% damage from gal. Aptitude + 590% from his 3rd with 100%+ crit and status is just chef's kiss.
I've been using the ocucor with hydroid for a while because I love the weapon and it would auto aim on the enemies slapping around in the tentacles. Something I worked on after the rework is subsuming Nourish in place of Tidal Surge since Efficiency was my chosen trash stat and the extra viral is nice. With viral on nourish (even though it maxes at one stack), I use corrosive, radiation, and electric on the ocucor to nearly instantly strip enemies of shields and armor even without having to use abilities. From my tests, using nourish and plunder, hydroid can be used in fast paced missions like exterminate, while Tempest barrage and tentacle swarm can be used in a stationary mission types. The build is a bit active since on steel path shields pop like bubbles and if I miss a nourish reapplication, then energy can be a real issue, but as a Hydroid main, I wanna use him on every mission I can.
Dont sleep on using elemental ward with hydroid. It spreads even more elemental damage as well as supporting a tank build with either the heat or cold versions. Ive mostly liked heat myself, but both are useful.
i've been playing hydroid with ele ward before the changes and it worked fine already, now using cold EW with around 140% strenght you straight up get 90% DR making him so tanky. Also leaving the option for zenurik energy regen open, unlike gloom. Definitely check out what this guy said
@@TheRapeVictim you can subsume whatever ability you want, I've done it with his 4 since I'm not using it for extra drops and it works pretty badly with a melee focused playstyle

I'm finally not the last hydroid main anymore :D, though I think they could've kept the puddle and just made it a passive so if you hold crouch for 3 seconds you become the puddle
For the gloom build, why not replace hydroids 2nd ability with gloom instead of his 4, and use his 4 as a sort of “heal station”, so long as its active and damaging enemies you’re basically immortal
because people will prefer to play him with high mobility as weapon platform because he now can buff his weapons with corrosive and easily armor strip with them while using his 2nd as a free "Rolling Guard". For Pilfering Swarm build would be better to helminth his 2nd as you say

@@cothrone3651What I mean by free "Rolling guard" is that he have free mod slot to put other than Rolling Guard which have cooldown but not with his 2nd. I also think that Tentacle Swarm is not less useful unless you build for Pilfering Swarm compared to Tidal Surge. Tidal surge alone make him invunerable to damage and cleanse himself of all negative status effects with no cooldown. Also with Tidal Impunity, it turns the cost to 15 energy, clear status effect and gives status immunity.
Cause his 4 is fucking trash. And unless you're gonna play conjunction all day, you can't just keep still. 2 might be redundant with gloom, but it has status cleansing, which is way scarier later on.
I personally leaned heavy into the health tanking setup, new equilibrium kind of made it possible, as well as changes to companions. Arcane blessing, heat elemental ward, 4500 hp and 1900 armour? Yea das a pretty good health tank, molt reconstruct or molt aug depending on what you want, I usually run reconstruct as equi is good but if you don’t run his 4 augment energy can be a little scarce at time for constant healing

Good video. Honestly, as someone who's been maining Hydroid for years, it really does put a smile on my face to see him this good. As far as I've seen a lot of his builds tend to go down similar routes, since there's very specific things he needs but I personally really like Pillage on him. 1. Because well, Pillage and Plunder as names just fits the theme really well and I'm a sucker for that type of deal. 2. The extra overshields, the status cleanse, and the general armor strip fits into his kit like it's right at home without being too fancy. It helps stay alive in Steel Path and it's just overall a convenient ability to have. I just replace the Tidal Wave and it feels good. I would definitely like to see more about his new Augment though, I'm not sure how that works based on the description.
Looks like a great rework. I dont really want armor strip to become the only way to play the game at a higher level, that would be extremely boring. but I myself dont havent thought of a solution so I cant really complain
i hadn't even considered a melee build for the corrosive procs. gonna put wrathful advance on him with the Hirudo and go apeshit, actually can't wait since i bought the Baruuk deluxe out of a passion for the frame it's for, but i've been struggling to find a way to make sparring weapons good
Aye, I'm the same with sparring weapons, I just don't have the patience to find a way of making them work. Just opened a prisma obex riv yesterday, so I might try a wee bit harder now 😂
Nourish is what I use on him, not just for procs but energy (I don't have Energize so I got to get creative with my energy gains). As far as survivability goes though, he has decent CC and a couple blue shards on him for Regen so Steel Path was still viable.
I'd defo use it if it activated secondary deadhead and other things that require headshot kills (pistoleer/precision) for some reason I always thought the alt fire spear guaranteed headshot hits, but it doesn't seem to@@jasonm2477
try Troid incarnon + hydroid's plunder If you have riven mod for the Troid, good for you, if you don't well few replacement might change a bit but as again you can slap down some stats and make sure troid gas grenade for you want turn it to be poison to be viral then leave heat stand alone and make sure the stats last enough long, have hydroid use plunder and it is utter SP enemies's bane because if you build it right making the status effect last longer, you can make the status of "heat" over stack above 1k with in 1-3 min if you didn't use plunder but with plunder, everything is easy murderable now.
Combine the sickening pulse build with a sentinel of choice, or perhaps a sahasa kubrow with duplex bond set up for slash procs and the bond to spread them. A single slash proc would make all those armor stripped viral primed enemies pop one after one. And then all the energy and health orbs would rain from the sky. And he could get you more energy too if he has to dig it up.
Really have to say: Rip Puddle. It offered a different manner of gameplay and I wish Pablo had been more public about his thoughts in terms of it before he scrapped it.

He's actually now a good weapon platform since he can easily armor strip and when helminth Nourish, he can have corrosive and viral on his weapons without the needing the mods which open mod slots for his weapons. !giveaway corrosive procs
Tempest barrage as an AoE - covering the whole map would be a bit too op imo and I main Hydroid since ever and love every actual buff he gets. But since tempest barrage is propably the only ability that destroys nullifier bubbles it's just fair if you have to somewhat aim with it at least 🤷🏼♂️
First Grendel and now Hydroid? I hope other frames like Caliban, Nyx, Atlas, Valkyr, and ESPECIALLY Inaros gets some sort of good rework or buff. Though I personally enjoy Atlas but I think he can be way better and Caliban can actually be pretty decent but it takes too much work
Ohh boy. Cant wait to level cap. I read his kit on paper, and was kinda unimpressed ngl. In practice. It feels really good to use. Use a corrosive+heat epitaph primer to armor strip and proc 7 status effects for CO, pull out a raw viral primary that has multiplicative gunco scaling , like the Felarx, Aeolak, or the Buzlok (favorite AR in the game), and rip the target to shreds…armor strip being part of the priming process is pretty awesome for convenience and adds 1 extra status for dealing our damage, but doesn’t push Hydroid to a top tier for level cap, certainly MUCH better than he was tho. Prolly around B tier for level cap (specifically referring to disruption as cascade is significantly less DPS dependent.
I tried marked for death on dagath and oh my god is it strong with electric or viral slash procs. Using quanta vandal or a slash viral tenet flux rifle for status. Keep her 3 active. Cast her 2. Hit an enemy a couple times. Press 1 and everything dies instantly.
I like how the developers are very accurate of hydroid being the king of the Ocean fun fact do you know the reason why he does corrosive damage now is because we polluted the earth Ocean water?

Got Umbra set, 4 red shards for 200 duration, 288 strength and just 130% range. It is insanely good with Cocucor and Nautilus, I just love Hydroid now

Hydroid made ocucor super nasty with his massive corrosive buff and nourish, completely melts sp enemies like they were made of paper

First Grendel and now Hydroid? I hope other frames like Caliban, Nyx, Atlas, Valkyr, and ESPECIALLY Inaros gets some sort of good rework or buff. Though I personally enjoy Atlas but I think he can be way better and Caliban can actually be pretty decent but it takes too much work

Ohh boy. Cant wait to level cap. I read his kit on paper, and was kinda unimpressed ngl. In practice. It feels really good to use. Use a corrosive+heat epitaph primer to armor strip and proc 7 status effects for CO, pull out a raw viral primary that has multiplicative gunco scaling , like the Felarx, Aeolak, or the Buzlok (favorite AR in the game), and rip the target to shreds…armor strip being part of the priming process is pretty awesome for convenience and adds 1 extra status for dealing our damage, but doesn’t push Hydroid to a top tier for level cap, certainly MUCH better than he was tho. Prolly around B tier for level cap (specifically referring to disruption as cascade is significantly less DPS dependent.
I tried marked for death on dagath and oh my god is it strong with electric or viral slash procs. Using quanta vandal or a slash viral tenet flux rifle for status. Keep her 3 active. Cast her 2. Hit an enemy a couple times. Press 1 and everything dies instantly.

Lmao gloom is the go to helminth, I just ended up replacing his second instead of hes fourth for a more balance build, I wish they would rework armor.

I like how the developers are very accurate of hydroid being the king of the Ocean fun fact do you know the reason why he does corrosive damage now is because we polluted the earth Ocean water?
In the dev stream they seem to describe it as brineyness that causes the corrosion affinity

@@noahedenborg4221 to be honest its been fun to aoe armor strip with it and it does prime them with the corrosive buff so you can recast plunder and get the armor and stuff again if needed thats it just kinda fun
