I enjoyed playing around with the Boar Prime Incarnon due to the beams. Even when in its normal form, the amount of status 1 shot can put out sets any other shot to kill. Another one I found funny to use was the Pox, throw it at an enemy and armour was gone over time.
Another good weapons would be the incarnon torid. 100+ crit and status with no fancy modding. Subsume nourish onto Hydroid's 2nd, mod gas on the torid with just one heat mod, activate 2 and 3. Absolute annihilation.
My Miter Riven that I’ve had for years has a ton of damage and crit damage. It’s to the point that Hydroid’s 3 and Passive don’t make a noticeable difference as everything dies in the same amount of shots.
It's great that he's so good with secondaries that normally struggle with armor! My favorite is actually the Torid Incarnon, a primary, but there's cool things about being so good with secondaries. You can totally just grab an Ocucor etc. and have something when incarnons are a pain to charge, or kinda do the inverse and have it as a backup for a Bramma that may run into ammo issues when scaling up or when enemy density drops etc. His 1 can strip and even apply viral a ton if your weapon doesn't btw., you can also swap to said Bramma whenever you have excess energy to do so, he can be very dynamic. For the Torid, you can go the gas route with Nourish, but here's a lazier alternative that still completely melts anything I've been up against (My riven is dmg/multi/-projectile): Even with Nourish, you can mod it viral/hm so it just kills even if you're neglecting your buffs. Why HM when he gets his corrosive? Especially when all that+elemental doesn't affect it? The DoT. It kills off enemies who survive chains and more consistently clears crowds without having to hit all of them individually. Nice thing here is I don't have to swap builds when swapping to Breach Surge etc. or just doing some lazy base-steel path and stuff. (I go hard with gas and banes for long missions, worth my time) Also, sometimes a toxin build is nice, I think you'd wanna go for the crit + status perk for that. His 1 is a 1handed cast btw., I usually spam it alongside holding down Torid's beam for crazy dmg and mob-clear consistency. The viral/corrosive stacking just gets ridiculously fast, and my 1 lingers in the area I just moved on from, CRAZY kps. With Nourish + Equilibrium + P. Flow and maybe some extras like synth deconstruct you can spam with a mere 45% efficiency if you keep up the kills, absolutely bonkers survivability on my Hydroid build too. Team up with a Roar Wisp and witness hundreds of millions of dmg from just abilities, it's amazing. Team up with energy supports, and you run Breach Surge instead. His proficiency with secondaries and the fact his 1 lingers in an area also make him an excellent user of Tenet Ferrox, btw., he's basically just good with all weapons that are any good if your build suits it and the weapon suits what you're trying to do.
Personally I've been using my incarnon Burston Prime and his Nami Skyla Prime with a nice riven and it's great. On the circuit he's a monster with all those corrosive and armor decrees as well, had a great time with him there
Boar is the best because if you use his 4th it auto locks onto enemies in incarnon. Amprex is probably pretty good for that too. A lot of weapons are kind of annoying to shoot when they’re in his 4th. Or they don’t chain the same way (torid etc)
I'm a beam fanatic. I can't wait to get my Hydroid and play around with all these choices! (especially with the Ocucor, as its auto-aim is just insane and cozy)
I dunno amprex with viral and hunter munitions is still fun without Hydroid. I think any beam weapon is particularly nasty with him. I've found that the explosive throwing weapons that launched with styanax is pretty fun on Hydroid Edit: Try hydroid with sickening pulse too

it's silly and ridiculous how stronk our weps and gear has become there needs to be a rebalancing or a lvl +1000 mode, otherwise it's all a joke and kinda sad really
