When I saw AILD in Adelaide, South Australia many years (2005 I believe) ago.. I spoke to Tim Lambesis after their gig, and he was just strange, really serious and straight faced. Didn't really appreciate my comments of their show, etc and it really didn't seem like he wanted to be there. I went outside and Nick Hipa (guitarist) was out there chilling and me and my cousin got the opportunity speak to him and hang out with him for a while. He was really cool! Friendly, funny, down to earth and we had a blast chatting away to him. Obviously this was all before things went down with Tim's situation in his life.
I agree with TanktheTech, the downfall of As I Lay Dying needs to be studied. I saw them in 2012 and AILD rules live, it's unfortunate that things have ended like this.
@ for AILD it was it was Nick just disappeared, then spirit box needed a bassist, and then Jordan just stopped conversing with the band as a whole from what lawyer says. That was just kind of just a revolving door of musicians this is more comparable to Emmure situation imo
That first Wovenwar album was genuinely some of the best guitar-centric songwriting I've ever heard. Jordan, Nick, and Josh are seriously talented and I REALLY felt their absence on Through Storms Ahead. Phil contributed some solid riffs, but he I don't think he's able to carry the entire band by himself. Many of the songs felt very... incomplete. These guys really shine when they work together and Wovenwar proves that they don't need Tim to write amazing songs.
nothing left... second mass exodus and the fact phil has also quit means it's 100% over if it wasn't already before. aild was one of my all time favorite metalcore bands but i guess tim's actions have cursed this band.
Yeah, this doesn't look like it's gonna be a Creed situation where Scott Stapp was finally able to eventually overcome his personal demons that plagued him and reconcile with Mark Tremonti and the rest of the band.

@@serart41 You’re absolutely right. Tim used to date one of my friends. He’s weirdly introverted but energetic… and oddly emotional for a man. But when he’s in a good mood, he’s just as nice as anyone else. But he has a lot more bad days than good, especially when pressures mount.
Crazy man ive been jamming AILD since 2005. They were definitely my gateway band. Wovenwar was cool, i think itd be amazing if Jordan, Nick, Josh, and Jordan started a new project with a new screamer with a new band name.
As someone who never listened to AILD (not for any reason other than I never got introduced to them), it's no surprise that someone unstable enough to hire a hitman to kill his wife, who recently got out of prison for that attempt, and who is obviously roided up, is a piece of absolute garbage who no one--literally no one--feels safe working with.
One of my favorite metal core bands. It was my introduction to the subgenre. They should had never given Tim a second chance. It's hard breaking what other members have gone through. Tim should had stayed skinny cause it's clear that inside he's a skinny little scared coward. The level of disrespect for their livelihood is inexcusable. Their earlier work was outstanding too, really crap events.
Thanks for acknowledging people to check out what these musicians who have stepped down will do next. These are all great musicians and I feel that they all deserve to play in great bands in a functional and healthy way
I'm a relatively new metalhead (2020 was mainly when i started), but man as i lay dying was one of the early bands that i got into. Their songs always had consistently good riffs, and was part of what got me into listening to music for more than just vocals. I didn't know anything about the band at the time of course, but the fact that so much shit has gone down between them (mainly because of tim smh, he's giving us tims a bad rep) is kinda sad.
Sorry, but Wovenwar was mid af. Was a nice try but they didn't have a shadow of creativity comparing to writing for AILD. I welcomed clean vocals on that project but Shane was really underwhelming with it. That was a weird choice from the start, a primarily guitar player doing a main vocals when he clearly is not lead vocal material. And Jordan took a huge 5 steps back in writing the drum parts. I mean, there is a reason why they were very financially unsuccessful. Their music was simply not top tier. We all should have realized things are going this direction ever since 2018. Original members coming back to AILD because of WW was financially a disaster. Their disucssion and reunited friendship was a lie, but I understand 4 of them, they were just trying to come back to a good living and providing for their families, as fast as possible
Josh Gilbert should've been the main frontman instead of Shane Blay. That way, they could've maybe had songwriting similar to AILD, but with a slightly more restrained and accessible approach to distinguish themselves.
I guess it's more than that. They are all running away like chickens , even Phil who was OK with hitman thing. so it's at least roid raging resulting in some murder threats. At least, so it could be something bigger. Anyway, roid raging is metal AF , it's extreme music for extreme people, Tim is too brutal for all of them 😂 ADM > AILD.
What sad news. AILD was what got me into metalcore when I heard 'Nothing Left' and 'The Sound of Truth.' Now there really is nothing left. (Sorry, had to do it.)
My guess is that Tim "relapsed" in his tendency to take control of the band, and potentially started engaging in his violent temper. His wife made clear he hasn't put his hands on her, but A. she could be covering for him, or B. he's not putting hands on her, just throwing them at his band mates, and now that he has no more punching bags, she might be in for it. Since Tim used to be a guitarist in another band, maybe he should just make AILD a solo project where he plays all the instruments and then just hires someone to play the parts he wrote in EZ Drummer or whatever, that way he can make his awesome music, and nobody has to deal with him and his narcissism. Everybody wins.
@@hobobaggins4725 Give me you clothes (YOUR CLOTHES) Your boots (YOUR BOOTS) AND MOTOR CYCLE I love Austrian Death Machine, but still, if Tim can't play nice with others, he needs to play by himself. Phil has Saosin and thats going well. Please cover more about them because theyre onto big things and Saosin was a huge part of the 2000s and still a big influence today
That awkward moment to be Tim right now lol Like what can you say about all this? If you dodge the blame, people won't trust you, and if you apologize, people still may not trust you
Definitely feels like they are hoping fans will realize and understand without having to openly say to them that this is a very serious situation involving a dangerous person that for either legal reasons or genuine safety concerns they simply won’t say any more about publicly, and that alone says more than enough
Who would have guessed Tim would be impossible to work with.... Good luck to the lads who walked, you gotta do what's best and not get caught up in his nonsense.
Josh Gilbert should've been the official frontman for that band instead of Shane Blay. I personally think he has a better voice, he already proved himself in AILD, and he's more than capable of pulling double duty on vocals and bass.
I'm all for Wovenwar... Though I have to say, of the two times I saw them live when they were around, Shane's vocals were TERRIBLE live, absolutely horrendous. On record he sounded great, but they just didn't come across the same live. Two different venues, not sure if they had their own sound guy or not. The band sounded fine both times, but the vocals were painful.
@@tektauron Very true. I farted into the mic a few times in the studio. This later became what would be known as "Through The Fire and Flames" by Dragonforce. Herman Li didn't even need to touch a guitar for that entire song.
The obvious thing is that they are distancing themselves from. Which is the front man. But it's been a situation since Tim got out. I got a ton of love for their music and hope that they find solace and continue to create their life's work
I get Tim is probably the problem, but I also have problems with and this is no attack on anyone.. but you write an album together get everything together and it’s getting ready to release and then everyone quits??? Were your morals compromised before during or after you get the release date or before you’re like yeah let’s put this out? If someone is putting your safety in harms way just say it don’t put out these vague statements.. we need to hear Tim’s side as well.. probably won’t matter to most on here anyway but just my opinion that documentary sit down they did when they reunited was more like a intervention instead of a hashing out things.. and why do it on camera?
Because the dude tried to hire someone to kill his wife. And people have problems with that. I don’t know what else needs to be said when you have 7 people quit on you. That’s not even including the tour manager. Tim’s clearly the problem. Edit: repeated myself
@@thedude0411 Seems fairly obvious. It's also speculated he's been back on steroids. If true, no doubt that is playing a role in making things feel unsafe and unhealthy. This is directed to the original commenter. You complain about them putting out vague statements and finish off by condemning them for airing their grievances on camera. Which is it that you want?
The comment said ‘pushed to breaking point’ so that means it’s been building over time and got to the point that it was no longer doable. That answers that part. Not an out of nowhere thing. Secondly, there are a lot of legal possibilities as to why they are being vague which would make sense as to why they haven’t gone into details from defamation attempts to possible open legal battles behind the scenes. Plus dude tried to kill his wife and mother of his kids so safety isn’t out of the question
Idk about Wovenwar, I think its a case of absence makes the heart grow fonder. The first album was pretty good but nothing special after that for me. As for Unearth I'd love Ken to go back but I'm unsure about Nick. He's a phenomenal drummer but it's cool they currently have Mike Justain back.
Thanks for the kind words to those of us who had to step away. 🙏 appreciate it! I’ll expand more about why we all left… Tim really had changed since getting out of prison. He constantly gave all of us wedgies and tried to kiss us. It was devastating. 😔
Technically, the band was dead after his arrest. Then the original lineup decided to get back together because I suppose they probably thought Tim had earned a second chance to show he had changed, then when they all left except for Phil it was pretty obvious that he hadn't. Now that the 3 new members that were recruited, plus the only other original member besides Tim have also left, there's only one person that can be blamed.
Nah cuz I would think if a situation like THAT ever happened again that the members stepping down would be shouting it from the freakin rooftops to make sure the public was aware of it. At least I hope they would...
My first thought also: Bring back Wovenwar and we are golden. Back in the day I missed the Screams a bit but everything else was amazing with that band. Now that I’ve gotten older I’ve fully come to appreciate the absence of screams but I still think that’s the reason why they never fully took off hence why I mentioned it.
I STILL listen to wovenwar! I can’t believe you actually brought them up, I would LOVE to see them come back!! They dropped 2 absolute banger records 8-10 years ago!!

I would love if Ken and Nick ended back in Unearth. That band is at it's best with them.
That mullet leaves me in awe, I am literally rendered speechless…
Im jealous of it.
I agree with TanktheTech, the downfall of As I Lay Dying needs to be studied. I saw them in 2012 and AILD rules live, it's unfortunate that things have ended like this.
Thanks!
Not gonna lie it honestly reminds me of when everyone quit Emmure all at once. Like what is going on
Except it didn't happen to emmure twice lol
I own both the wovenwar album and have them both signed by everyone!!! I freaking loved them!!! Tempest was such an amazing song!
The best. 🤘
Clicked on this video so fast. Phil bring back Poison Headache.
same...."spill the tea"
I've hung out with every single one of these dudes, including the OG lineup, and I can tell all of you that they are the kindest, most stand-up dudes you will ever meet. My heart breaks for them, but I guarantee you they will land on their feet, they are all MONSTER players!
Of course you did 🙄
@@BeatsAndMeats Tim destroyed the bands image and reputation so whatever you saw of Tim was a front and inauthentic, the rest of the band members suffered cus of him and his thoughtless actions
@@Cossus666 They’re a San Diego band. I live in San Diego in Crown Point. Jordan Mancini and Phil own Brick By Brick, a metal venue two miles from my house. They go to local shows at the Observatory all the time. They also go to Barefoot Bar and Grill on the other side of the bay all the time. I’ve run into Nick Hipa at least a dozen times at random shows around town.
@@serart41 You’re absolutely right. Tim used to date one of my friends. He’s weirdly introverted but energetic… and oddly emotional for a man. But when he’s in a good mood, he’s just as nice as anyone else. But he has a lot more bad days than good, especially when pressures mount.
@@BeatsAndMeats
Sure you did.
Also what happens to the new album they just wrote?I was looking forward to that
Really sad ending to what was once a trailblazing band for a genre that shaped a generation of musicians.
As I lay Dying is now the Tim Lambesis show I can't believe this happening to one of the best hard rock bands in the world
Lol *“what made 3 humans with interests in preserving their careers decide to disassociate with a convicted murder conspirator”*
It's almost like the guy who tried to hire a hitman to off the mother of his children is unstable..like who would have thought?
Saw them in 2007 , Tim’s energy was like the hulk in pure rage. I’m talking red in the face and veins popping out of his head.
@@ColorsIn-jk6lvtren
“Pride comes before a fall.” It started to unravel when they turned their backs on the Lord. And yes, Wovenwar returning would be amazing!!
Thanks for acknowledging people to check out what these musicians who have stepped down will do next. These are all great musicians and I feel that they all deserve to play in great bands in a functional and healthy way
Does anyone know what Jordan Mancino is doing now? I know he hasn’t been in the band for a few years now.
Calling it now, Tim is roid raging on the band, ppl around him, or his wife....or all three.
I guess it's more than that. They are all running away like chickens , even Phil who was OK with hitman thing. so it's at least roid raging resulting in some murder threats. At least, so it could be something bigger.
Anyway, roid raging is metal AF , it's extreme music for extreme people, Tim is too brutal for all of them 😂
ADM > AILD.
Considering even the tour manager quit, I'd say Tim is obviously unhinged. Not really shocking, but still.
@@Džejms_Bong I'm wondering if it has to do with kids. That's the only thing I can think of that could cause everyone to drop him instantly like that.
This really sucks because in 2005 I learned falling upon deaf ears as my first full song on bass.
👏
What sad news. AILD was what got me into metalcore when I heard 'Nothing Left' and 'The Sound of Truth.' Now there really is nothing left. (Sorry, had to do it.)
Had me going there with the thumbnail. But there is no interview with Phil.
Thanks for saving me 10 minutes
Doing a nearly 10 minutes video just to read a single statement on twitter and repeating everything said on the previous video about this is crazy :')
Wtf....just when they were getting great again
Will the album still drop in November?
And then call it „Austrian death machine“. I think he is ready…
@@hobobaggins4725 Give me you clothes (YOUR CLOTHES) Your boots (YOUR BOOTS) AND MOTOR CYCLE
I love Austrian Death Machine, but still, if Tim can't play nice with others, he needs to play by himself. If he doesn't like that, womp womp, maybe don't push people away and act like a jerk? He wants to act like a giant baby, he can go into time out like one.
Phil has Saosin and thats going well. Please cover more about them because theyre onto big things and Saosin was a huge part of the 2000s and still a big influence today
Phil carried the weight of this burden long enough and listened as Tim fabricates until the truth fades away
I saw wovenwar years ago and had the opportunity to meet Nick and Josh, Shane was also amazing. I'd love to see them come back
That awkward moment to be Tim right now lol
Like what can you say about all this? If you dodge the blame, people won't trust you, and if you apologize, people still may not trust you
I think the band just ends to end at this point. It tried to be resurrected three times and it didn't work.
They should all get together and form a band with Howard Jones
Now Tim can finally change the bands name in 'Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld'
"TIMMMAYYY!"

Man I wanna see Lambesis singing this with playbacked instrumentals 😂😂😂
- Hey Timmy, are you ready to record the album?
This is why I don't fuck with the music "industry"
You can make more money and get the same drama managing a mediocre restaurant 💀
Definitely feels like they are hoping fans will realize and understand without having to openly say to them that this is a very serious situation involving a dangerous person that for either legal reasons or genuine safety concerns they simply won’t say any more about publicly, and that alone says more than enough
Wovenwar let’s go!! That’d be awesome! 🤘😎
Thank you bro for providing metal news! Great job.
Who would have guessed Tim would be impossible to work with.... Good luck to the lads who walked, you gotta do what's best and not get caught up in his nonsense.
Where was Gondor when Tim Lambesis? 😢
So what happened? All i hear is vague statements. A nothing sandwich. We want details. 🗣🗣🗣🗣
Only thing I can think of is Tim is using again and has made death threats or went into a psychos from roids and coke mixed. Like old behaviors.
Wovenwar was good musically. I just couldn’t get past the vocals. Not that they were bad, it just wasn’t what I personally had hoped for.
Josh Gilbert should've been the official frontman for that band instead of Shane Blay. I personally think he has a better voice, he already proved himself in AILD, and he's more than capable of pulling double duty on vocals and bass.
Vocalist is an attempted killer with convict time. He brought that out with him.
What’s going to happen to the new album?
I'm all for Wovenwar... Though I have to say, of the two times I saw them live when they were around, Shane's vocals were TERRIBLE live, absolutely horrendous. On record he sounded great, but they just didn't come across the same live. Two different venues, not sure if they had their own sound guy or not. The band sounded fine both times, but the vocals were painful.
EVERYONE sounds good in the studio
@@tektauron Very true. I farted into the mic a few times in the studio. This later became what would be known as "Through The Fire and Flames" by Dragonforce. Herman Li didn't even need to touch a guitar for that entire song.
They sounded great live to me. Every vocalist has their bad days.
The obvious thing is that they are distancing themselves from. Which is the front man. But it's been a situation since Tim got out. I got a ton of love for their music and hope that they find solace and continue to create their life's work
Tim Pool and Tim Lambesis should form a band together, since everyone in their respective organizations quit lol
So who is as I lay dying? If it's not the grup member?
@@thedude0411 but they knew that he tried to from the beginning 🤷🏻♂️
Idk about Wovenwar, I think its a case of absence makes the heart grow fonder. The first album was pretty good but nothing special after that for me. As for Unearth I'd love Ken to go back but I'm unsure about Nick. He's a phenomenal drummer but it's cool they currently have Mike Justain back.
Who farted?

Thanks for the kind words to those of us who had to step away. 🙏 appreciate it! I’ll expand more about why we all left… Tim really had changed since getting out of prison. He constantly gave all of us wedgies and tried to kiss us. It was devastating. 😔
so is it now called "As Tim Is Lay Dying" ?
I was wondering why the concert in Oslo was cancelled...
So let me get this straight, Tim forced his way back in. Then forced everyone else out?? 😂🤣
Hope its not a Lost Prophets situation....

I hope their album still gets released. Every single they've released have been bangers!!!!
This is honestly the saddest ending for this band.
We have all loved these guys for almost 20 years
I STILL listen to wovenwar! I can’t believe you actually brought them up, I would LOVE to see them come back!! They dropped 2 absolute banger records 8-10 years ago!!
I wanna know when YOU are coming back to music.
Not to mention their tour manager quit as well and the European tour was canceled before all the members leaving
