Nice video and cool photography ;) Goodjob by WMFS there! :-) I like both fire appliances, all though it is a sign of sad times when the small unit is replacing full sized units.
Yep...great addition for FF safety....no BA ...carcinogenics everywhere in car fire...back in 90s this was the technique....now 3 in a van....OIC , pump man and lone FF ...however this is result...no BA....no helmet on OIC ...just get in there... injury and health issues coming down the line but right now this saves a few £ as the gov don’t give a toss at FF s dieing at 65 with cancer.
Difficult too see how sending 3 blokes in a van to put a car fire out, and then send a pump ladder with another 5 on it, is going to save money. Didn't this used to be a straightforward pump shout?
Totally agree. When the WMFS introduced these piss-poor, fake fire engine pick-up trucks, gleefully the powers-that-be told of how capable they were. From grass fires to car fires, they are supposed to be well up for to job. In reality, they’re pathetic.
+Karen Occardi Toyota Hilux. Its a Small Fires Unit, Quite new. Due to budget cuts in the UK appliances are having to be sold off/used less... Therefore they use these to cut the costs of responses. Unfortunately some of these are actually replacing fire appliances meaning there is less in service.
Wouldn't be surprised if the firefighters without helmets were reprimanded by their superiors. British firefighters are supposed to wear them en-route and on-scene, thanks to the health & safety gestapo.

WHATS DIFF. BETWEEN FIREMEN AND FIREFIGHTERS ??
There are a lot of female firefighters now so the modern term covers both men and women
Generally women don’t appreciate being called men.
joke fire fighter protecting his hand with helmet took a long time to put fire out

+graham yogibear All of the steps necessary to ensure a safe conclusion to the incident.
I respect our firefighters but were two crews really necessary. The car was a write off anyway and there was no danger to life

That ain't no bleeding H&S Gestapo, it 's simply common sense.
Why the hell do you need to wear a helmet en-route?
@@bondziu .... do you wear a helmet when you're travelling by road then?
