For those wondering....first priority is a covering jet on to the side of the house...there is a window on that side which could break. While this is happening a main jet is being attached to fight the fire from the front and a second hose reel is also used from the side. By now a hydrant would have been connected by a third crew to main water pressure and fight the rest of the fire with a second main jet....From a large fire in an outbuilding to extinguished in less than thirty minutes....a job well done !!
Well if you put this exact house with this same fire in the USA, the outcome would likely be similar to what you see here. Unfortunately with our building construction, that same fire could definitely have gotten into the house. If you have a good enough department, the adjoining house could definitely be saved though.
Not to take anything away from anybody, but this was an outside fire. Correct? If the fire was inside the building in possession of the first floor and extending up the interior stair, and it's 3:00 AM with occupants overcome with smoke in their bedrooms above and the guys successfully rescued them....then this fire it would be worth a discussion.
Oh look it’s the 22mm hose reel that the yanks like to call a garden hose getting water on almost instantly whilst the 45mm jet is made ready. In ‘murica the whole row of houses would’ve been alight before they even got the first drop of water on.
By commenting in that way, you only serve to demonstrate your complete lack of knowledge. There's no such thing as a 45mm jet & It's a 19mm high pressure hosereel jet. I've met many ignorami at such fires.
@@ashleyhoward8926 no such thing. Ok then Walt. www.london-fire.gov.uk/about-us/services-and-facilities/vehicles-and-equipment/hose/ When the fire brigade report on incidents they refer to their equipment as thus.
What a twatish comment. The whole 'we get water on the fire quicker' is arbitrary when that garden hose makes no difference. It took 3 minutes to put out a fence fire with two hoses. Several folks just milling around with no SCBA's on, awesome!
+Felix Baxter No kidding but that's the line that everyone over there rants and raves about because they can get water on the fire reallllyyy quick. Could have taken an extra minute and setup a bigger line and had the fire out quicker.
No kidding but those high pressure hose reels are just as effective if not more effective in most situations compared to the low pressure delivery hose. Volume of water isn't everything, it's how it's directed onto the fire. Dumping tonnes and tonnes onto a fire is just going to create super heated steam. 45mm and 70mm delivery hose is fantastic if you're dealing with a large external blaze. but the 25mm hose reel is way better for dealing with small to medium sized fires, especially this close to a house where you have to be mindful of water damage. The increased pressure (30 Bar opposed to 5 bar) is also much more effective at reaching the base of the fire and putting it out.
It looks like every type of hose was used for this fire. 0.75" garden hose, 1" booster fire hose, 1 1/2" forestry fire hose and 1 3/4" and 2 1/2" layflat jet fire hoses.
@@michaeltindall1867 Mike, this was before the days of the net, sorry, its what I woke up to at 3am in the morning in a house near us, It sounded like rain but I noticed a orange/yellow glow on the ceiling, it was not rain, If you want the full story I will tell it but it was a fight to get the fire brigade to the right place.
grey I like exposing ignorance and incompetence in a service where people have sworn to protect property. I RARELY get the opportunity to compliment a good performance and love to throw it in the face of our American service that think they are superior to the rest of the world. I Love when a department in England stops the truck and gets FAST water on the burning material not Let it burn while we climb on the roof to vent or set up a dozen ladders or break every window in site or wait until a hydrant was hooked up or wait until every piece of our uniforms was in place for an exterior tank water fire. I know those weren't necessary here but still, American big name departments would have Screwed The pooch on something even This easy Here they used Fast water, protected the soffit, adjusted the cone of the water to suit the situation and got the job done quick.
JB91710 How many outdoor fires on a 2 story building like this can you find mind me that have people climbing to the roof etc? So because they use PPE that's supplied, and we all know if they don't the safety Nazis go mental, they're screwing the pooch? I think you're getting a little excessive here and just don't want to admit that this would be pretty basic even in the US.
grey I have seen Dozens of fires on these videos that show FFers walking right past BM to perform stupid tactics that have nothing to do with stopping the threat or protecting anyone. Dozens and Dozens and they all come from the USA!
So you'll post dozens and dozens of links then of this exact same scenario? Fire on the side of a two story home with no known extension inside and I'll see all the firefighters walk past the fire to go to the roof, setup dozens of ladders etc? I await all those links.
well this is different the fire service putting out a fire whatever next,I thought all they did was wash there lorries, fetes and go to schools.....oh and shopping.
Respond to road collisions, fires, chemicals spills, water rescues, animal rescues, human rescues e.g. stuck in lifts, trapped somewhere.. Involve in the community doing prevention work to PREVENT something from happening. Talk to children about what to do in the event of a fire etc. Do a lot of training so we are prepared for when something does go wrong. Also work all unsocialable hours :D But the shift pattern suits me and its a very rewarding job!
graham yogibear The hose reel is laying down a mode.delta jet on the side of the building to protect it first. Although I agree there didn't seem to be much urgency in doing much else.
I think that they did not deploy the jet until they had a hydrant connection. Conserving the tank water for the hose-reels protecting the house was a sensible decision, since the fire in the garden did not pose any particular threat.
More effective. Saves more water, it's quicker, and it enables somebody to ship the hydrant before the tank is drained. It means you can fight a fire almost instantly, preventing it from escalating. Once the Hydrant is shipped you can whack a line of 70mm on it if it really comes to it but given the circumstances it really wasnt necessary.

Exactly what I was going to say. A good stop indeed!
First priority is to clear the home of all people and animals
Thirty? Do you mean 3?
You guys are the greatest. Keep up the Great Work and please Stay Safe & Protect Your Brother's & Sisters! Thankyou for your Service!
🙏love you firefighters. The should get paid a lot more
Come to Canada. They make great money.
Tomorrow, Im going shopping for the best fire extinguisher money can buy. Outstanding Kent Fire & Rescue!
Good working job and quick response time by the look of it! Great offensive firefighting saved the house...good job.
Great job guys good hustle in getting the fire under control, well done stay safe.
Gotta love the Dennis
Love the sound of the pump. Just listen how hard she is working 💪
Compare this to a usa fire department. The whole house, and much of next door would have been lost.
@Gabriel Godina it’s true. US housing is mostly wooden construction which means faster fire spread.

Good thing fire spread wasn't on.

Right at the very start behind the appliance?
I didn't spot him before
Another job well done from kfrs!
Could had been worse. It could had been an entirely wooden house.
@Erich Weiler I seen how Brick houses are built, they don't need a support wall to support it. Well at least where I live
brilliant footage!
I could listen to that engine forever and a day...
Woof i hope there was not much damage inside and the house is safe to living there again :)
British fire fighters the best!

Thank god for the heroes that are the fire service

Send me the link

good stop there. House nearly went. You could see the window had started to burn.
what was it that caused the fire
Karen Occardi I believe it was something in the shed but not sure what
VW & Ford Car Maintenance Servicing Tips a car or petrol stored for a mower. I think
Which crew is this ?
Not a house fire, its a garden fire, if it was a house fire, the actual house itself would be on fire
I’m no expert right but what if u put the hose on spray and spray it up so it falls like rain (:
It would probably evaporate before reaching the flames
Turn to steam. That’s why you aim at the base of a fire if you can.
HOLY SHIT
He I would say that
Our god is all consuming fire
that was right next to my school
Again, that's how it's done America. No games just get the job done.
What games are there for a simple exterior fire? You just enjoy trash talking everyone at any chance.

the shed garage
Good firepeople.

He is cooling the exterior before it starts to burn due to radiant heat

+thames Ranger Nice to see that people say the same things over there that they do in North America.
They came to my door unexpectedly and fitted a smoke alarm free of charge - I respect all of our emergency services

TAKES LONG ENOUGH TO GET MORE THN 1 JET ON, Y THE HOSE REELS ??

alot of guys standing around and nobody taking command of the scene
There is clearly someone in command.
