Great video! Its not just a youtube video, you literally helped so many people keep their home safe by understanding how these systems work. Not to mention the older people that might want to protect their homes and end up super confused. THANK YOU!
This was GREAT!!! Compared to other TH-cam videos, yours is the best! You explained everything. The pros and the cons of each of the systems so that I can make my own informed decision. I was able to follow along with your explanation, as you repeated some things that helped me to comprehend what I was hearing. You would make a great teacher! Thank you for sharing.
I was at Best Buy about to buy the simply safe system when I decided to watch a quick review in the store that’s when I stumbled on your video review. I went with Ring. Thank you for your videos u saved me money and disappointment.
I was literally about to order a simplisafe because I like their commercial with the guy with the mask. I decided to check a video out on TH-cam before I pressed the order button. Glad I did because 3 minutes into your video I knew Ring was for me. Thanks for the honest review.
I purchased both Ring and Simplisafe. Comparing all the options for home security was the hardest part of the whole process. Installed the Ring first...smooth install, very smooth. Then, based mostly on special pricing and I don't know what else, removed and packed up the Ring and installed the Simplisafe. The install was glitchy due to the fact my router was broadcasting in 5g. I had to change router settings to 2.4mhz because that's all the Simplisafe recognizes. Seemed odd but apparently it works better through walls and floors? News to me but, ok. There were a couple of other times I was on my laptop looking things up and one phone call to customer service. The glitches were early on and then finished up smoothly. After an attempted break-in last week, I slept soundly last night and it was worth the effort. Ring and Simplisafe are probably equal in terms of quality but watch for special pricing for each. I ordered the Ring from Amazon and it was a refurb. Still the Simplisafe with special pricing ended up being the better deal.
The SimpliSafe system WAS affordable, but with monitoring fees being raised to almost $30 a month it is no longer the most affordable. Frankly, I just moved from SimpliSafe to Ring for three major reasons. First, the ease with which SimpliSafe can be jammed with a $40 Chinese handheld radio. Second, SimpliSafe does not have "Smash and Grab" protection; you have to hide the base station which is not always easy. Third, Ring monitoring is less expensive. It cost $20 a month and if you pay for a year in advance at $200 for the year, it works out to only $16.66 a month. Ring uses Z-Wave for the sensors which is much harder to jam because of the nature of Z-WAVE technology. Ring also has "Smash and Grab" protection. When Amazon puts the Ring system on sale, it can be very affordable compared to SimpliSafe. Also they offer refurbished systems and accessories that really make it affordable and the refurb systems and accessories looks and works just like new. We are much happier with the Ring system and saving money.
You literally just saved me money. I was getting ready to buy a simplisafe product when I saw the fee just to get the app control. It makes zero sense to an IT professional like myself to pay extra for something a rival product offers. Thank you so much for this in-depth detailed review!
not sure if SS lets you control with the app now without paying but that was one of the things that sucked, you had to use the keypad so no remote control via the app vs. others which allow this for free.
Second generation Ring door sensors use two coin batteries (CR2032) so the sensor and magnet are smaller and lighter. Less chance of falling off the mounting tape. Ring uses Z-Wave radio (908 MHz) new technology, secure. Simplisafe uses 433 MHz, old technology. I use Ring (1st & 2nd gen) and I have installed Simplisafe. I like the Ring app and the lower cost of their monitoring service.
wished they used command strips would make it easier to move sensors around. the cost of monitoring for Ring has gone up to $20 a month now, but still cheaper than SS for new customers, old customers are grandfathered in for a couple more years but will have to pay the higher price eventually.
@@Steve-og3cr yeah z wave is a little better but can be jammed too. I think the Ring might be more reliable as it's backed by Amazon. Also the keypad is plugged in but can be used without plugging in vs. the keypad of SS need to have batteries replaced every 8 months.
@@Mrs.JessicaHudson I had 2nd gen and was replacing batteries all the time. the current gen also quotes around 6 months to a year, though the extra siren now lasts longer than the old extra siren.
My friend Robbie was at Best Buy about to buy the ring system when Robbie decided to watch a quick review in the store that’s when Robbie stumbled on your video review. Robbie went with simply safe.
The video fails to mention that Ring has "smash and grab" protection and SimpliSafe does not. Finally SimpliSafe is easily jammed with a $40 Chinese handheld radio and Ring uses a more secure and not easily thwarted Z-Wave technology which is a much better solution. Just moved from SimpliSafe to Ring because of those two major flaws in SimpliSafe design.
I have Simplisafe and the app does work without paying for features, you can also work the entire system through the app. you might want to recheck your info. You have to pay for the central security monitoring and they do send alerts to police, I have had great response turn around. I only pay 3.99 a month, which is way cheaper than when I had a professional security system through a central monitoring company, which was 25.99 a month.
Idk how you are paying 3.99 but you are correct that the app works without a subscription if you live in the US and that has been the case for a while now.
One thing Simply Safe does is warrantee their equipment. I've had their system for about 5 years now. The motion detector in the Family Room quit working. When I called Simply Safe they were unable to send me a new one since their system has changed. So they sent me a whole new system free of charge that included everything on my original equipment which included 16 window and door sensors and everything except for the camera and the water detection which I didn't get through Simply Safe. You can't asked for a better warranty.
The ring retro fit kit is amazing. It saved me literally hundreds of dollars. Rather than buying contact sensors for every window and door, I just installed the retro fit kit and it worked perfectly!
This was an awesome review. I just brought SimpliSafe before watching this video and I’m glad to know that it now has an App. Thank you for this review.

VERY VERY well done sir! Thank you for taking the time to put this together!
Great review, thanks. Based on this review, I just purchased the Ring system. Lots more options, more established, more economical with monitoring. Also, app control should be free for all systems. Simplisafe is blowing it here. Dumb.
I made the mistake of buying the simple safe and I regret doing so simply because the ring system does have a remote arm/disarm with no fee's attached Simpli Safe does not, I don't want to pay 25-30 dollars to be able to arm/disarm my system and I want to monitor the system myself not someone else. Live and learn I guess.
Great Video!!! Does the ring system allow you to lower the door chime volume??? My old system did not an it was LOUD, so forget about taking a nap when family is home...help!
well ring now has google capability, so ring is definitely one of the best plus monthly cost is just too hard to pass up on. ****Update I ended going with Simplisafe after some long research and happy to say it's been a great product and the application on the phone is a lot smoother to me than ring. Some things I would improve on is having wireless devices that can charge, but I know wired is more secured, just helps in case power goes down. overall love SimpliSafe. I use one Ring camera and pay small 3 bucks a month and that has been awesome too.
@Major Gear yep they sure do if you don't update your settings and VPN. my suggestion over the time of hard core research is Simplisafe is one of the best. It's a private company and super easy to setup. The App on the phone in my opinion is a lot smoother than Ring's app (they have improved over the years). either way I have both products, but my main one in use is SimpliSafe.
It looks like with simplisafe, they will text you before calling which I prefer. The also can check your cameras to confirm a break in before sending the police. Something that other alarm systems don't do. On the downside, you have to replace batteries in the keypad every 8 months. Ring has a feature called critical notification which will work even if do not disturb is on and only notifies you if the alarm is triggered, not for motion events that are recorded. This feature will alert you so you can take appropriate action while all other notifications are silenced. Especially great if you're self monitoring.
Also, what he didn't tell you in the video is that SS will replace your camera for 10yrs with the subscription. Any defect or malfunction they will replace them for free! I'll take SimpliSafe!
I have SimpliSafe and I’ve had it for years with professional monitoring and it’s great. I did have a ring video doorbell but I literally just smashed it with a hammer last night because ring has zero customer support. SimpliSafe has awesome customer support. Support after the sale is everything. I’ve now purchased a SimpliSafe doorbell camera to replace my ring doorbell camera that I just smashed with a hammer last night because I’m so frustrated with ring. You can only get ring their sales people on the phone they have zero customer support after the sale
You're just mad you got the crappie system. Plus anger management bro, you smashed your ring system purely because they have "zero after sale support" which is unlikely to be needed as Ring is so simple to use. Also you could have refunded the ring doorbell but no you smash it and mention the fact you smashed it twice. Like chill bro, we know your a Simplisafe employee haha
This is a great review. I think I’m gonna go with Ring. I have a follow up question - where I live it’s important not to look like you have wealth, and not to look like you’re doing anything to secure that wealth. Also personal property theft up to a certain dollar amount is legal now, and the police here have been almost fully disbanded. In other words, we are on our own and so it’s not a deterrent for thieves when they see any signs of a security camera or an alarm around someone’s home. In fact, according to local online groups and some police officers I’ve spoken to, it’s seen as a sign of wealth that you have something they want to break into your home for. In other words, my question is - Which system is the least conspicuous? I don’t want anyone in my neighborhood to know I’m monitoring my home. It’s not a deterrent where I live, just the opposite. Thank you again for the awesome review!
My understanding is the actual alarm reports are called in to the call centers who then call the police . These are done via your cell phone, as is the case for ADT as well, so if you have poor cell reception, then is there a hard wired internet connection that does not rely on your cell phone?
Having a key fob is a security hazard if someone gets a hold of your keys and know where u live. They could simply walk in and turn off the alarm. Convenient for you but not good from a security standpoint
Seriously? You could use the same premise with your garage door opener, house key, car, etc. If someone is so committed to get into your house that they have to follow you, steal your keys, and then know where you live…you need more than a security system cause that person’s getting in your house whether you have ADT, Simply Safe, Ring, etc.
OK. So presumably you don't use any keys in your life? The same logic would apply there. It must be really inconvenient for you not being able to have a key to your car or house. I feel for you
I wish I'd have seen this video before I bought Simplisafe. We're plretty happy with Simplisafe. But for value and flexibility. However. I don' tplan to have Amazon Alexa in my home. Each company has its pros and cons.
Thank you for the crystal clear review and explanation on the two products. This is excellent! One question about the Ring system: does it support setting up a schedule so that it will automatically arm every night at 10PM, and automatically disarm 7AM in the morning for example?
Any chance to purchase a non-Amazon product I will take. Going with Simplisafe. Great product and looks better. Get the monitoring and save on home owners insurance.
Great video thanks a lot! One thing I'd like to request: The next time you make a video and the majority of the equipment is white, can you record with a dark background? It's all kinda blending together otherwise.
Simply safe works with wifi as the primary connection and cell service as the secondary connection. So if the power goes out, the base station uses cell service.
Feel like ring better value in all ways. Simplisafe does have fire/carbon monitors, but they are sold separate and costly. I believe carbon sensor is $49 and fire is $29 I don't know why I purchased Simplisafe, guess the over priced app use and key fob was the only good selling point for me lol.
Thanks to this review and several others by security.org. I went with Ring home security system. To me its the best value for the money. Ring is the cheapest system to buy, Its very simple to set up. Even for a non computer savvy person like me, and what I like about Ring better than its closest competitors such as Simplisafe and Cove is that Ring is the only one that doesn't charge you extra OR make you buy into the more expensive monitoring plans than they advertise to lure customers in just to get access to your doorbell footage. And with Ring you can expand and add as many extra cameras as you like and nothing changes with price. This is just not true with any other security system. Also with ring You have the option to self monitor if you want but the only reason I was even considering self monitoring was the high cost of many of these companies monitoring plans. Ring's $10 a month plan is a bargain compared to every other company out there and its no contract. So I went with it. I hate contracts that lock you into spending with a company. If a product is good and worth it then you don't need to force your customers into contracts to keep their business . Ok so ring doesn't have a fancy keypad that looks like a computer screen but who cares All that is for is to show everyone you have a security system. They don't have key fobs either but considering that everyone has a cell phone and the system is controlled through your phone, you don't really need an extra key fob to add to your key ring. I almost went with Simplisafe because a neighbor has it and he showed it to me and I was sold on every aspect of Simplisafe except one. Simplisafe offers a $15 a month monitored plan but what they try to hide from people is that in order to get full access to your security system you have to pay $25 a month So that axed Simplisafe and I found out Cove dose the same thing. SO for me, Now that I have the Ring system installed and I did it myself I am happy with it. I did opt for the $10 a month fully monitored plan and they give you a 7 day practice period before the system goes live and I tripped it by accident a few times and was immediately called by Ring to see if everything was OK. Also compared to my friends security system from ADT that he has a 5 year contract with and pays $65 a month for monitoring, it works pretty much the same way the ADT system works. Ring's system also has the chimes that go off even when the system is unarmed so when you are home and a door or window is opened the system sounds through the whole house just like all the big expensive companies offer. So for me, for the money in initial cost, and the optional monthly monitoring, Ring is the best system out there and no one else can touch them.
great video and all the info ... thanks for this. I currently have Blink and want to upgrade. QUESTION: Can I use Ring on different phones (At same time), for example my phone and my wife's phone?
Thank you for your youtube post. Very helpful in choosing between Simple Safe and ring. I am leaning toward ring based on your video. Do you know if ring offers tech support? We now have Brinks and I have had to speak with tech support nearly every day. Nothing but difficult with Brinks.
You can use the app to set up the sensors in the Simplisafe system too. You get a free month of monitoring so you can use the app and then just cancel if you don't want it later.
Thank you for this in-depth review. My biggest issue is that I live in a rural area with limit internet. So not having everything connect to WiFi is appealing. It’s been really hard finding reviewers who mention that.
Wifi and rural mean nothing. Wifi is a local networking concept. Maybe you mean connected over your internet service provider (ISP)? Pretty much all systems connect via internet with a mobile GSM failover. Very few modern systems with give you connection to a telephone since phone service almost always runs on the same network backbone as your internet (cable and fiber via VoIP). Even Verizon has abandoned POTS lines.
great review, thank you. I bought the simplisafe but I will be returning because I need an outdoor camera. Simplisafe doesn't have that. plus ring has cheaper monitoring.
Thank you for your time and very thorough explanations. You have helped us understand with very little tech speak so we can make an informed decision of what to install. Excellent job.
So I wonder... I am going to live in my van and am looking for a security system for that. Because I will not have a wifi will the Ring system not work for me then?
Looking into systems for my school bus conversion now too. I have a mobile hotspot we use for wifi but it is a data plan through verizon. It is $90 a month for 30gb. I just saw Arlo has a camera called the arlo go that has its own LTE network but it requires a SIM card just like the mobile hotspot does. Kinda looks like those are the only options for vehicle conversions right now!
Simplisafe is a better looking system compared to Ring, I don't like Ring printed on all the components and I don't trust Ring cameras . Simplisafe have new cameras coming in 2021.
@@oamsfl73 Ring cameras have been hacked it’s been in the news. What I like about the Simplisafe camera is that it has a automatic privacy shutter that automatically shuts when your at home, you can change all the settings in the app. I’ve only had the system for 1 week and so far liking it I’ve been putting it through lots of tests, I have 60 days to return it if I wish.
@@bletchley1965 You could just turn the cameras off or turn them when your home. However, I don't want my cameras hacked regardless whether home or not.
You don't need the remote with Ring because you can just use your phone app. It is redundant to have an app on your phone and the remote. The biggest bait and switch and lie Simplisafe puts out there is you aren't locked into monitoring contract, but you are essentially locked into perpetual monitoring service if you want app function. Ring works with Google assistant/home, albeit limited. One error you make is at 15:35: you said Simplisafe will work without wifi, but seemed to indicate Ring won't, or somehow Ring sensors need wifi to connect to the base station. Both systems' sensors connect to the base station on a separate frequency than wifi--that is, the sensors don't communicate to the base station over wifi. Both are cellular backup systems for professional monitoring (I hate the term professional monitoring, because it is just a call center and nothing professional about it), so both will work locally if cellular goes down. Ring will still work between keypad and base station without wifi, you just lose the app function, which is the same if you have Simplisafe interactive and you lose wife, thus app function. A significant advantage you and most people overlook is the 2nd Gen (2G) Ring system operates on z-wave plus wireless mesh, vice a closed 433.92MHz for Simplisafe. 2G Ring also employs S2 security protocol. Simplisafe wireless network is not a mesh system, either. Simplisafe entry sensors be bypassed with a $2 433MHz remote control (another reason you shouldn't broadcast your exact alarm system with those signs and stickers, use a different company). So, you can add other z-wave security devices onto the 2G Ring system, whereas you are bound by Simplisafe devices. This means that you have more options for door locks, etc. Ring does note that only Ring certified z-wave will integrate as part of the security system monitoring, even though you can connect other z-wave devices to it. The First Alert z-wave plus smoke/co2 2G alarm (vice the Ring listener) and a bunch of door locks will integrate in the Ring security and monitoring. The added benefit of using z-wave devices with 2G Ring also allows some automation like turning on z-wave sensor connected lights to motion trips, turn on/off lights that are connected to z-wave switches or outlets, etc.
According to Amazon they have gone up on the monitoring fees. Pro Monitoring is now $200 per year, and that is the only level that has the Cellular backup in the event that you network connection is down. Very disappointed to see the new rate structure. I was about to buy the system before I saw the new rates.
Can the motion detectors on either system be turned off easily for when we leave the house and our dogs stay? And then if the dogs go with us turn them on?
both systems use motion sensors that are "pet friendly"; however, there are caveats to it. You need to adjust the sensitivity and/or look at your height placement. It is a little bit trial and error.
I just modified my SimpliSafe door lock to actuate the water valve for my vacation house. So I get a low temperature alarm, I can remotely turn off the door.
The information about having to pay for the app and setting up devices is incorrect. I just used it yesterday without having to pay anything as well as setting up a few devices.
both systems can technically be used without wifi, although you need wifi to setup Ring. Without wifi, the system is basically a closed network between base station and sensors. The cellular feature of both is only for if you pay for monitoring service.
I am using SimpliSafe and I am able to use the app free of charge, not sure why you are not able to do so??? But I will add a basic paid subscription since I really want to record video footage.
You have not mentioned that the Ring (not the alarm) can be installed and only 33.00 a year is a good option. We live in the sticks, but guess it don’t matter where you live, but just saying I guess.
You didn’t mention anything about Technical or customer support after the sale. Simply safe hands down. I had a legacy simply safe system that I started having problems with after four years and they replaced it for free with the updated system. Ring has absolutely zero and I mean zero customer and technical support. There is no value proposition. If you can’t get support after the sale and you have to replace your hardware, there’s no value. SimpliSafe hands-down because you can get easy support after the sale. They have never let me down whenever I’ve had a hardware issue and believe me, you will have issues no matter which system you bye
Yes! That is what I have been trying to tell people! I just spoke to SS customer service rep and she told me that with the subscription it includes 10 years of warranty on the cameras so they will replace any malfunctioning camera for up to 10 years! to me that's worth a subscription!

If I were going to make a drinking game based on this video... every time you said "Profesional monitoring" or "App functionality". Damn my man. I wanted Profesional monitoring right from the get go, and 25 dollars is a small amount of money so Simplisafe fit the bill. I think your review was fine, but it seemed you were pretty biased toward the system you have had for a longer time. To be fair, I think you should of tested them side by side over the same period. At least that would of been more "scientific" so to speak.
The one thing i like about simple safe is at least they have a keyfob to disarm but their keyfob is so stupid designed. I dont want to have to get my phone out every time I want to deactivate my alarma. The thing I dont like about ring or simple safe is that they both dont have multiple zones say am up stairs still want my alarm active down stairs.
I have a two story house too. I did not install any window sensors or motion upstairs so I am able to have my alarm on and still move around and have open windows upstairs. I use my phone app to turn off the motion sensors before coming downstairs. If you have a system with no phone app a second control panel installed upstairs works just as well.

I saw somewhere where I had to pay $27.99 a month for 24/7 Simplisafe protection. Is this true?
Can you provide more information as to how I can get Simplisafe and only pay 3.99, I can not find anything on that?
I also have SimpliSafe system but we pay $27 or so a month for the monitoring service
Idk how you are paying 3.99 but you are correct that the app works without a subscription if you live in the US and that has been the case for a while now.
What a thorough review on both systems. Of all the reviews, you are the best!!! I'm leaving you a Thank you for your time.
Just bought a new home, and this is exactly what I was looking for. Subscribed, and thank you!
Congrats on your new house!
Nicely done. That was extremely informative.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
The ring retro fit kit is amazing. It saved me literally hundreds of dollars. Rather than buying contact sensors for every window and door, I just installed the retro fit kit and it worked perfectly!
Cool. Was the installation easy to do by yourself?

This was an awesome review. I just brought SimpliSafe before watching this video and I’m glad to know that it now has an App. Thank you for this review.
VERY VERY well done sir! Thank you for taking the time to put this together!
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent review! Thanks so much for taking the time. This was so helpful in giving me the info I needed to make a decision between the two.
Fakespot reviews gives Ring only 3 stars compared to Simplisafe 5 stars
@@oak415 so you're saying that SS is over rated?
Great Video!!! Does the ring system allow you to lower the door chime volume??? My old system did not an it was LOUD, so forget about taking a nap when family is home...help!
Gave me the info to choose not only the system I need but the options I need to keep me safe. THANKS
well ring now has google capability, so ring is definitely one of the best plus monthly cost is just too hard to pass up on.
Great review! Wanted some reassurance. I am so happy you reminded me about Alarm Smoke & CO Listener, added to cart ~
Great review. This was the comparison that I’ve been looking for.
Thanks for watching! Happy to help.
Which one did you go with and why❓
I appreciate you so much! ❤😅😂🎉
Thank you for the video! How is the video recording quality of the Ring cameras vs the Simplisafe cameras?
I have SimpliSafe and I’ve had it for years with professional monitoring and it’s great. I did have a ring video doorbell but I literally just smashed it with a hammer last night because ring has zero customer support. SimpliSafe has awesome customer support. Support after the sale is everything. I’ve now purchased a SimpliSafe doorbell camera to replace my ring doorbell camera that I just smashed with a hammer last night because I’m so frustrated with ring. You can only get ring their sales people on the phone they have zero customer support after the sale
I have SimpliSafe and I totally love it! Customer care is excellent!
Can I like this video twice? Excellent job, thanks for the info.
Thank u so much for such an informative video!
I hope rings pays you because baybeeee this was a really GOOD review. A majority of the comments are leaning to ring because of this!
Very well explained.Thank you.
VERY well presented and quite detailed. SO Happy you did this, as I just bought a house, and you definitely sold me on the Ring system. thank you
This is a great review.

But what is the button on the top of the SimpliSafe keypad that’s red
Very thorough comparison. Awesome!
Excellent video! I have a question. You mentioned cell connection. If I have poor cell reception at my home will that be a problem with either system?
My understanding is the actual alarm reports are called in to the call centers who then call the police . These are done via your cell phone, as is the case for ADT as well, so if you have poor cell reception, then is there a hard wired internet connection that does not rely on your cell phone?
Thank you for Security Sistem🛡
Having a key fob is a security hazard if someone gets a hold of your keys and know where u live. They could simply walk in and turn off the alarm. Convenient for you but not good from a security standpoint
If you have that bad luck play lotto
This actually happened to me and once in they disabled the cameras by taking a dump and then threw the poo at the cameras.
Seriously? You could use the same premise with your garage door opener, house key, car, etc. If someone is so committed to get into your house that they have to follow you, steal your keys, and then know where you live…you need more than a security system cause that person’s getting in your house whether you have ADT, Simply Safe, Ring, etc.
You can disable the key fob from your system. So no one can use it to disarm the system if lost.
OK. So presumably you don't use any keys in your life? The same logic would apply there. It must be really inconvenient for you not being able to have a key to your car or house. I feel for you
Great review. I didn’t know there was no outdoor camera Thank you.
thank you!
Thank You!
I wish I'd have seen this video before I bought Simplisafe. We're plretty happy with Simplisafe. But for value and flexibility. However. I don' tplan to have Amazon Alexa in my home. Each company has its pros and cons.
Great review!!! All of my questions are finally answered.
This is great details review... thanks
Thanks for watching and the comment.
Thank you for the crystal clear review and explanation on the two products. This is excellent! One question about the Ring system: does it support setting up a schedule so that it will automatically arm every night at 10PM, and automatically disarm 7AM in the morning for example?
Yes ring can do this.
Great review. With the Ring monitored service are you committed to any particular contract length?
Any chance to purchase a non-Amazon product I will take. Going with Simplisafe. Great product and looks better. Get the monitoring and save on home owners insurance.
Yeah but you get app control and monitoring for only $10 which is way cheaper and you save more on insurance while keeping monthly cost lower.
😂😂👏🏿
Great review. Very informative without a bunch of unnecessary fluff. This answered pretty much all my questions. Thank you. 👍
Great video thanks a lot! One thing I'd like to request: The next time you make a video and the majority of the equipment is white, can you record with a dark background? It's all kinda blending together otherwise.
Thank you for the video. Very informative
Wow, neat to see these so thoroughly laid out. 💗
Glad you like them!
dude thanks for the video! really needed help finding that works well for my fam and this really helped
Simply safe works with wifi as the primary connection and cell service as the secondary connection. So if the power goes out, the base station uses cell service.
So does the Ring system.
Will I be able to turn off the siren remotely? on Ring and Simplisafe System?
Exactly what I needed to decide. Thanks so much. I'll go with Ring!
Thanks, this video was very helpful in making my decision.
Ring does have a partnership with first alert and you can get those for much cheaper and will be monitored if you buy the subscription plan.
great video and all the info ... thanks for this. I currently have Blink and want to upgrade.
QUESTION:
Can I use Ring on different phones (At same time), for example my phone and my wife's phone?
Very informative! Thank you for the effort.
Thank you for your youtube post. Very helpful in choosing between Simple Safe and ring. I am leaning toward ring based on your video. Do you know if ring offers tech support? We now have Brinks and I have had to speak with tech support nearly every day. Nothing but difficult with Brinks.
Don’t switch to ADT if you want tech support! They are little to no help and want you to pay (a lot) to have someone come out to your house.
Key Fob is nice but Buttons can be easily bumped accidentally and setting off unintentional alarm's.
What Alexa device can you buy that helps with glass breaking for the ring device? Any specific one?
You can use the app to set up the sensors in the Simplisafe system too. You get a free month of monitoring so you can use the app and then just cancel if you don't want it later.
SO HELPFUL! Thank you!!!
I’m wanting the system for a beach house in Central America. I doubt the monitoring system even works there.
Excellent video! Thanks a bunch!
Really detailed and great review! 👍Thanks for taking the time to give viewers opportunity to make informative decision.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching and the comment.
@@JustSomeGuy009i know the difference. This didn’t need to be explained, but thanks i guess
great review, thank you. I bought the simplisafe but I will be returning because I need an outdoor camera. Simplisafe doesn't have that. plus ring has cheaper monitoring.
It has a sleeve you put on your outdoor cameras to protect from water wind and snow

Great review! thank you!
does the cameras still work for simplysafe without wifi?
no
So I wonder...
Dude thank you so much!
Simplisafe is a better looking system compared to Ring, I don't like Ring printed on all the components and I don't trust Ring cameras .
Simplisafe have new cameras coming in 2021.
What don't you like about the ring cameras?
@@oamsfl73 Ring cameras have been hacked it’s been in the news. What I like about the Simplisafe camera is that it has a automatic privacy shutter that automatically shuts when your at home, you can change all the settings in the app. I’ve only had the system for 1 week and so far liking it I’ve been putting it through lots of tests, I have 60 days to return it if I wish.
@@bletchley1965 Please keep us updated!
Can you run simplisafe solely on the cellular no wifi at all?
both systems can technically be used without wifi, although you need wifi to setup Ring.
👍thanks
Thank you. I'm about to pack up my Simplisafe package and send it back. It's actually a bitch to get set up, and it's more expensive over a year.

App functionality is huge for a ton of ppl
@@miguelcornejo3421 I never said that it wasn't...
