I have one question to ask about E90 bmw 320i N43 engine. Is this car really worth it or it has problems with engine because N52’s owners claim this car is not good. Feedback would be appreciated thank you

Some owners will always claim the engine issues it will have which is because of lack of servicing and not keeping up with the maintenance but if properly looked after, they are excellent. Also we have a 2009 BMW 5 Series 3.0 525D in stock.

    N43 bulletproof?
These engines are beautiful but they are very complicated because of how they are designed to work. It's very hard to find one with proper maintenance done and sorting out the previous owner's bad maintenance habits is very expensive.
There are things that are guaranteed to fail on this car at a certain mileage and it will cost.
Gaskets...you'll have oil leaks. They can be fixed.
Timing chain kit should be replaced for peace of mind. All 4 cylinder E9X series had issues with timing chains and or plastic guides.
Valve stem seals dry up and become rigid because this engine runs hotter than others and start to burn oil and they should be replaced along with hydraulic lifters which clog up over time and start to make noise at high rpm. NOX sensor will go first if you are burning oil. NOX Cat will go next if you only drive around town or slow speeds.
Vanos solenoids, Camshaft position sensors, oil pressure valve can gather impurities and clog up over time and they need to be replaced as well.
High pressure fuel pump, vacuum pump and waterpump will fail on this engine as the miles add up.
Oil should be changed more often on the N43 because of the higher operating temperature.
Last but not least, almost all engines of the E9x generation BMW will need new injectors(index 11), coils and spark plugs at some point due to misfires, and you have to replace all of them with new OEM parts or else the engine will not run at proper factory spec.
You can get these cheap now, but it will cost more than the value of the car to restore them to full glory.
As a bonus, everyone and their granny will insist the N43 is the worst engine ever made but the 6cylinder versions have pretty much the same problems, the only exception being the timing chain probably.
So when you do 4 sparks 4 coils and 4 injectors on a N43, they do 6/6/6.
What can be great about this engine?
When everything is sorted the engine will be able to transition between its 3 operating modes stratified, mixed and homogeneous. It will give you power and a fun drive when you want it, and amazing fuel economy when you need it.
The N43 is very misunderstood. It's good but It's not bulletproof.
    How do I know?
I own one. I love it, but for me it's a hobby and I knew what I signed up for before I got mine. Make sure you do too before reaching for the wallet.
    Stay safe!
