    One of my favorite Randall Cunningham plays of all-time in this game with that 95 yard TD pass. How he knew Bruce Smith was about to sack him is beyond me.

    24 Points in the 1st Qtr by Buffalo on that Great Philly Defense. It's a shame a missed fg robbed the Bills of the Lombardi that year. They were the best team in football in 1990-Period-Go Bills!!!!!

    Birth of the K Gun. great to see this game preserved. I wish so many hadn't recorded on the 6 hour VHS setting, because it messes up the quality. Still, better than not having it at all.

      @@jamiejohnson4524 I agree. Cunningham had this uncanny ability to always land on his feet when he would get hit. His balance and athleticism were unmatched by any player of his time, and I think that there's never been a quarterback with Randall's particular skillset.

    Saw that Cunningham-to-Barnett play live on TV. And just watched it again now, and like others have already said, that has to be the best individual play I've ever seen. Mind boggling to go from near safety/TD in one endzone to a TD in the other endzone in just a few seconds.

    I remember watching this game live. As a Giants fan, admittedly, I was pulling heavily for the Bills. When they raced out to that big lead, I was ecstatic. Then the Eagles came roaring back in a big way. Still think that Cunningham 95-yard touchdown play to Barnett is probably the single greatest play in NFL history. It was certainly the greatest single play that I ever saw. Yeah, I might have hated the Eagles, because they kept beating the G-Men. But that team was incredible. Cunningham made the offense unpredictable and potentially explosive, and the defense was one of the best of it's time, and that's saying something! Surely, the best defense in the Super Bowl era never to have made it to the Super Bowl. Still sometimes wonder how that happened. But this was one of the best and most memorable games that I ever saw. Great game!

      I think the saints defense was right there with them in that Era to have never made a superbowl. Vikings too. So many great defenses in the nfc at that time. Montana would have won more superbowls if not for all those great defenses.

      The Bills were breaking season attendance records at the time. Hard to believe that three games were blacked out that season. This game, Colts and Cardinals. They were 8-0 at home, 10-0 if you count playoffs.

    The frustrating thing about the Eagles defense was Waters, Hopkins and Frizzell, always tried to go for the “BIG HIT”. They didn’t wrap up when tacking which was why their 2ndary was so vulnerable. If the QB could buy some time, the passing lanes were wide open. The Eagles front 4 was devastating when they got to the QB, but they couldn’t do it all the time, especially in a spread formation. The tacklers in the Eagles secondary was Smith, Allen and Hoage, so the QB would just go to the weak side. That’s why the Eagles were a mediocre team back then.

    I love interconference games. I was only 15 when this game was played and I was stupidly watching whatever game was on NBC at the time and saw the highlights on their halftime show.
    21 years later, I went to Buffalo to see PHL @ BUF. This time, Mike Vick was the QB for Philly and Ryan Fitzpatrick was the Buffalo QB. It played out in a very similar way…Buffalo built up a big lead, Philly came almost all the way back in the 2nd half…But then Buffalo ran out the entire clock, because Philly jumped offsides on defense on 4th & Inches and Buffalo got the cheap 1st down and then could take a knee 3 times and that was that.

    • @jamiejohnson4524
      @jamiejohnson4524  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In this game, it was Seth Joyner’s ill advised lateral attempt that allowed Buffalo to run out the clock. Had Joyner simply gone down, the Eagles would have had the ball at the 50 with momentum on their side. With Randall at QB, there’s a good chance the Eagles could have tied the game.
