Marino is God awful! Loser cost us as many games as he won. Clayton and Duper made him and not the other way around. After his first few years his stats were pedestrian. Look at all those pick 6s over the years. Hey, one of them resulted in a career ending injury to HOFer Dwight Stevenson. The reason they never quite had a running game was marinos ineptitude to stay with a called runs ,because he insisted on audiblizing to a pass plays. I’m a Bills fan and disagree. The Miami Dolphins hadn’t had a 1K RB in five or six straight years before Dan Marino even arrived. Don Shula was past his prime by the late 1980s. The Dolphins would keep coaches around in places way too long. Tom Olivadotti the DC was an average coach, man. Tom was there for close to a decade. Now take away the late 1980s - early 1990s Bills and Dan Marino is in a few more Super Bowls, even without a running game. If Dan had a RB like Thurman Thomas do you think Dan’s going to audible to a pass? Jim Kelly had some pedestrian stats. In the Bills last Super Bowl run, Jim Kelly had 18 TDs and 18 INTs. And no Clayton agd Duper didn’t make Dan Marino. Imagine Dan playing with three HOF offensive players at one time in Andre Reed, James Lofton and Thurman Thomas. As this video shows, Jim Kelly could be replaced on the Bills. Take Dan Marino off the Miami Dolphins and they’d of been 4-6 win team every year. It’s easy to blame it all on 13, but reality is he never had what Jim Kelly had or what John Elway had later on in John’s career. If the Bills had Dan Marino as their QB during their Super Bowl run, they’d own a Super Bowl championship. All the best.
