Nice. I wound up powdercoating everything, since it's not a factory resto. One question, have you tried Cerakote yet? I used it on my S6 build and was super impressed, and it's WAY thinner than powder.... seems to hold up awesome.

Cool, I haven't tried cerakote yet, but I've heard good things about it.
Did you DIY cerakote or had a shop do it?

@@GarageTimeAutoResto DIY, but at work. Pretty much spray it like any other automotive paint in a HVLP gun, then bake it in an oven at a lower temp for a bit, then you turn the oven up to 500ish for a while to finish the cure. I did my exhaust manifold and it still looks new. Kind of amazing, and it was only $60 or so for a decent sized jug of it.

Hey Tom, How bout muriatic acid ? great for cleaning oil pans and tanks .

For the oil filler? Good idea. Not sure if the oily residue will interfere.
The ultrasonic cleaner just arrived so I'll experiment with a bunch of stuff until it's clean.

Ok, cool. I just picked up a ‘68 912 roller. You’ve just became my new best friend. 😆. I have lot of your videos to catch up on. Such a wealth of knowledge!

70 is probably newton meters, that’s around 50 lb ft.

Those tins sure are a bunch of fit-tally bits... My guess is 45-50 ft lbs is more than enough and 70 is excessive.

Yeah, what's up with the workshop manual? Must be wrong. I hope I didn't damage anything.

It's a 912 until one day it's not. And then it REALLY goes!
