Because _Genshin_ is open world, and fairly new, it encourages wandering around and collecting stuff. Eventually you'll find most things are useful somewhere. You can earn primogems and fates for the gacha by playing, paying just accelerates the process. While there are some characters that make the game easier if you have them, none are absolute 'must haves.' You get high damage more through elemental reactions than through a single character's DPS -- although some, like Ganyu and Hu Tao, have higher damage than others. There are also some 4 star characters with amazing utility, like Bennett, Diona, and Noelle. Often support characters are more important than Main DPS types. Heck, all the Archons so far are Support types. None are Mains. Because there's only so much story, though, I find it's most important to find aspects of the game that allow you to have fun playing it. All the same, I do enjoy how the story is being executed. I still have high hopes.
noelle is really good character and before i levelled her up (she's currently my strongest character), i'd use her shield thing and swap to another character that was stronger but now i only do that if she's getting low or i need elemental reactions but i really reccomend doing that because it's saved me so much health!
I haven't played for a long time but tldr guide: to level up fast look for chests, get every checkpoint in the map and talk to the NPCs to get side quests. You can refine weapons If you have it repeated and should level them up using crystals and lower quality weapons, the items you get from chets give your character buffs, focus on one or two characters you like the most. When fighting keep in mind your character's and the enemy's elements. Lastly the tutorials are annoying and it's a lot of reading but if you're lost they are the best, or just look for TH-cam guides. Hope this helped✨🖤 it's a really pretty game with an interesting plot, but it can be really stressful at times xd
