Loredana, ty again for letting me play on and fix your account! Here is the google form if you want a chance for me to fix your account: forms.gle/p2X6nQq85AWNdAtFA (this is not a queue, if you want help sooner I recommend joining any number of communities that are filled with people that have the knowledge to give you guidance)
@MrFirecam at that point you spend a majority of your time alone with a lot of time so a game like this could help mentally and socially, it's probably very healthy and at that point there isn't much harm in pulling if you have that ability to enjoy the game you like that keeps you thinking and learning new things as well as to have personal goals and something to enjoy and look forward to, each character also has a different kit and she can have any team she wants to try out
Funny enough, when you use Neuvellette for the first time the game tells you to press specific button (probably even says hold), but the tutorial is so small and dissappears after first usage (or probably even swap), which can be done accidentally by luck, and you can't find it anywhere after. I noticed it, bc i notice every single message that pops up, but some people can play with the tutorial "press button to open the map" in the middle of their screen (early ingame tutorial) and never notice it is there! I met such people.
My exact thoughts. If she figures out how to put up support cast characters, everyone in her friends is set for life lmaoooo. Just recently I found out I have someone with c6r5 Arle and i cannot remember who this is and why we are friends, but I debated messaging this person because my ass got carried all the way thru lmao. This account is just so gorgeous. I love how you can see she played for years, i mean, festering desire is there (tho with r3 curse, which I see quite often, event weapons & refinements were confusing back then lol). Its fascinating tbh
At least now I don’t feel too bad. I’m 40 and have been playing Genshin with my 13 year old daughter since 2021. I have every character in game except Emile 😅. My daughter has almost all characters except Venti, Wriosely, and Emile. I usually have my daughter build my characters because I think I build them good and she looks and is like “Mom, wtf is this build”. Lolol.
thats so incredibly sweet, your daughter has coolest kind of mom! wish i could play games with mine, although that relationship was buried yeaaarss ago, sooo not gonna happen. wishing u both winning every 50/50s on character banners and getting all fun characters ya want
Honestly, the idea of an older lady getting into gaming is just so heartwarming to me idk. Also I think sometimes game devs do run into the "familiarity paradox" (which is what makes SMM(2) levels way more difficult than creators realize). When you've done something over and over again, sometimes you forget what its like to be "new" to something. At the same time, alot of people complain when an FPS gives a tutorial for say...ADSing and firing your weapon, intrinsically, 99% of players know those buttons like the back of their hands. But the 1% who has never touched an FPS, maybe never touched a game before, might need that tutorial!
There's an account of an old lady that plays different jrpg mostly, Food4Dogs her nickname. I watch some of her letsplays sometimes ^^ 30 more years and i'll join those old gamers. But i believe, starting from my generation or maybe one prior, the amount of old people playing games will only increase, to the point where it'll definitely become smth normal, because once a gamer - always a gamer, no matter the age!
I also just used to watch FPS games cuz it's popular here but I don't quite like that and I came to genshin and felt as if this is the future of gaming like how come it's so realistic and then I saw more Gacha games and the difference between FPS and Gacha was clear till then. FPS is just spamming buttons if not too much is going on besides your own skills Gacha Games like Genshin are way more demanding your time on other stuff rather than only limited pulls.
Yes! Reminds me of a great yt series I watched a while back discussing game literacy - how people who have played many computer and video games have built in assumptions and habits that make learning new games easy, while a person who hasn't played a single video game before would struggle a great deal
I'm over 60, have been playing Genshin since a couple of months after launch, and just this year started defeating the weekly bosses and got through level 12 of the abyss. I finally figured out charge attack (Neuvilette was a big help with that actually), but I know I am awful at combat still. But a lot of people who visit my world comment on how I have 100% every area because I'm pretty good at exploring and puzzles (unless they involve jumping). I literally a week or so ago found the "resonance" thing in the team selector and went "ooooooohhhh, THAT's what creators mean when they toss the word "resonance" around". People go through things so fast and rarely explain WHY things are done in a certain order or what terms mean. The terms "skill" and "burst" are not in the character talent descriptions!!!! I cannot tell you how useless it is to be told to "burst" when what is meant is to press "Q" or use the second level combat talent. I have a terrible habit of putting my hands one off on the keyboard so I hit Q all the time instead of W, so bursts were usually triggered in town. So I never used them in combat for a few years! I didn't know Bennett healed until a year ago or so (thank you youtube creators)!! He was one of my mainstays for a full year, but I never used his burst in combat because I'd trained myself to avoid the Q and didn't put it together that a lot of the "kit" for combat was that ability. I'm very grateful for the people who have helped me beat some of the bosses while I learned HOW to do things and helped me get some of the boss achievements. It can feel ridiculous to have level 90 characters, 100% every area, be AR60 and be basically a "noob" when playing.
Nice! I understand every word! Everything in Genshin was so incredibly alien to me - an average gamer cannot even imagine how hard this was for me. I farmed reddish for two weeks and cooked 100+ soups hoping for a perfect version. Then I got annoyed and watched a video. This didn't do it for me. Thankfully someone described the process in the comments and that's how I finally understood the stupid mini game that is cooking... I pulled my first gold on the Noëlle banner and it meant nothing to me. I had no idea what a gacha game is. I was stubborn and figured it out. It took quite some time but was eventually successful.
@@schlafesbruder7625I love cooking! You can have up to 2000 of any food in your inventory. It’s not a bad thing to have 2000 suspicious soups. You can have 2000 of each type. Suspicious, normal, and perfect/delicious. 🥰
i believe the character abilities are officially called "elemental skill" and "elemental burst" (although it's easy to miss and i wouldn't blame you). people tend to shorten it to "skill" and "burst", or "E" and "Q" because the abilities are bound to those buttons on PC. "E" and "Q" terminology would not be as helpful to a mobile only player since phones use touchscreen controls. genshin PC should let you rebind buttons, i don't play PC so i'm not entirely sure how it works but you can probably make a more comfortable setup if you want. the default controls are documented online if you want to switch back.
@@BiancoIsleDelfino oh i hope i didn't sound judgemental or anything lol. i agree with the video that genshin tutorials are pretty bad at teaching mechanics and especially combat stuff and a lot of guide makers just assume that everyone knows the basic controls which is not always true. what i meant about keybinds is that you can change which keys activate which abilities, like in your example if Q is inconvenient to activate the burst then you could rebind burst to another key. it should be in the paimon menu under settings>controls>key bindings, and then you'll see a list of controls and which keys they correspond to. clicking on a control should prompt you to press the key that you want to set.
Well, now at least I don't feel like the odd one out! I'm a fifty three year old grandmother myself who had never played a gacha game or indeed anything else but LoZ, and now I have like five genshin accounts, lol! And no, I am most definitely NOT a whale, I don't have that kind of money, but I DO have lots of time, so I just put lots of that in. I'm not a meta player, but I have managed to gain 29 stars in the abyss, and with my physical problems and bad eyesight, I'm pretty happy with that!
I thought I was old at pushing 40, since you see and run into a lot of barely adults playing this game, but I guess I'm still a youngling 0.o. (I'm still convinced 90% of the player base is casual, though)
I think a lot ppl dont realize how many casual players in genshin. I know a few who pick up the game bc they were curious or just like the exploration aspect but doesn't know or care anything about combat or other mechanics, they mostly stop and come back after few months so I really appreciate hoyo giving qol for them like the training guides and such (I know most veterans hate them and treat them useless but they do help a lot)
I mostly find them annoying, when these casuals start to whine that they can't clear some content without making any real attempt to learn the game, its mechanics and search for tutorials. I just don't like this type of laziness tbh. Other people who just play casually and mind their own business are fine, and if they're trying to learn that's even admirable. No offense.
@@atomicgrave4340 none taken, but this particular casual is an Italian nonna. It honestly sometimes opens your eyes to the scale of this game's playerbase. It also explains why Genshin doesn't give a flip about their vocal playerbase.
@@RKNancy well if you have legitimate excuse like this current example then it's fine, and i doubt she really whined, like some people do. I mostly talk about people that don't look for guides bc "i don't like when people tell me what to do and how to play" and at the same time they type in every single post they make "why can't i clear anything? This game is difficult! I use Ganyu, Albedo, Nahida and Venti, that's my favorite team! But i can't clear abyss with it? Build Bennett or Kuki? I don't like them! I only want to play these units, and i want them to 36* abyss, i don't want to hyper invest, lvl 70 should be enough! Make abyss easier!" etc, especially i don't like the type that says "i have real life you know, a proper job, i want this content to be easier!" (meaning that if you play this game properly, build your characters etc you probably have no life, no family and no job). This type of whine... Some even worse.... Ugh... I'm a casual too yk, i have a job and a family, i'm 36 ffs, and i play like twice or thrice a week. But for some reason i find time to farm or explore (i might be slow with quests, but i can afford an hour for exploration and 15 min for dailis etc), so i can't understand these people.
Genshin being as successful as it is is heavily in part due to its appeal on a more casual level. I try keep in mind how the way I enjoy the game (and obviously my knowledge about things in the game) is quite different from how many others may enjoy it. Which is why Im so wishy washy in answering specific questions on my livestreams especially, because any decision you make it Genshin is so context dependent to personal preferences on top of the situational utility of different mechanics in the game too. Theres basically never a universal answer for many questions people ask about what they should be doing in Genshin. Imo, I default to the answer of doing whatever we find fun.
I love this. Its so easy to forget as someone who has been gaming since they were a kid that a game like Genshin reaches people who don't have that same baseline gaming knowledge and experience.
Nah it has reached an era that even the elder has some experience with internet and games. Both of my parents are using Duolingo, and my grandfather is on his phone most of his time as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone is playing rpg games. But just thinking about how much things can change in 20 years always makes me sigh.
@@SillyYukoWait really? That’s hilarious lmao Because "Vagabondo" sounds a lot like the Portuguese word "Vagabundo", but that one means "piece of sh*t" instead of "wanderer" lmao, two very similar words with very different meanings but that both somehow still fit the same character lol
My Dad is 60, I managed to convince him to play Genshin around 3.8 so we could have another game we could play together. He is a Eula and Arlecchino main. He adores Arlecchino as she's a Father, I remember helping him farm up primogems as he was really excited for her, his excitement getting her C1 R1 will forever be something I hold very dear to my heart. Although he doesn't play often and I'm helping him understand game, he really enjoys it, and we have such an amazing time playing together whenever he gets the chance. Just shows how any age can enjoy this game. :D
Kaveh being level 88 shows me that being a fangirl knows no age. He is a beautiful man. Mad respect to her for building all of her characters pretty well. It takes a lot of time and effort. I play a lot of coop, and im glad you pointed out that not everything is explained super well in game. During arlecchino weekly boss fight release people were constantly explaining the pyro resistance and mechanics in coop. Some people still dont get it. I know a lot of people want to just get it over with quickly and finish their weekly, but i hope more people keep in mind that there are players who are casual and genuinely need help or a carry. A little patience and kindness can go a long way.
my grandma has an account i help her with, shes never played it but she loved certain characters like cyno, xiao, and eula and its super fun to do puzzles with her
1:43 There was a YTber some time ago who delved into the whole concept of gaming language and how we learn to play them and the results were that even some of the simplest games aren't that intuitive ( the experiment they did involved introducing their non gamer partner to Animal Crossing and it took said partner almost a day of playing until they realized RUNNING was a thing in the game). Turns out that most of us who play games were taught at some point (like when we were kids by our friends), it's just been a long time and that can be a barrier to entry for older or inexperienced players. Games aren't intuitive and it's nice to see that being addressed.
When Sol said the Account holder was 78 years old and didn't understand what a charge attack was. The very first thing I thought of was Raz's video series. Gaming has it's own language entirely and a lot of us understand it. But people who've never touched a game will struggle because they can't understand it. Unless they take the time to figure it out. Or as with many of us who grew up before online gaming it was shown to you. This is something I've never thought of until I saw that series. Here it is again as a spot light.
Soluna, you are such a nice person, 😍 I really appreciate your help so very much! I live in Australia and my ping is horrible. Most of the time when I change characters I must use the numbers on the key-board three times..... my latency is not helping me.
This has happened to me a lot - Fight new enemy - Said enemy has some new mechanic, or there’s something nearby with that new mechanic; but the mechanic isn’t important now, so I ignore it - Encounter that mechanic later, have no idea how to handle it, so no tips, realize that I encountered one earlier and ignored the note, have to search all the tutorials to find it (and remember i don’t know what name to look for)
Or due to time or other issue you stop interacting with a mechanic or puzzle, only to be confused when you come back. I hated a lot of Fontaine and Sumeru puzzles because of that, and also that a lot of puzzles in the overworld are locked behind quests
I needed this video. You are a saint! The patience you have to explain things you know your audience knows already, knowing they might click away, just to help this person out! You fucking rock! Earned my sub!!!
The fact that Genshin isn’t tied to a demographic as it seems warms my heart. Loredana, you slay! Enjoy your best in life! You have warmed our hearts!! Also heartwarming Streamer fixes heartwarming viewer account!
The Neuvillette and Arlecchino team isn't really called "must try", but more like "to try", as in "a team to try in the future". At least that's my understanding as someone for whom Italian is a 4th language, learned entirely on my own. Google Translate often loses nuances, wouldn't be surprised to be right
Its so wholesome seeing older people gaming. My heart melts when my grandma hands me her cellphone to help her and when i look there are some games donwloaded
i fr woke up and smiled at how wholesome the title is. i started screaming when i saw hu tao in characters list TLDR: my throat hurts shortly after waking up
Completely agree about game tutorials being bad - not just Genshin but across most games generally. It's typically show and tell. They show you it and then text dump. Very few do it the proper way - it should be show then give practical examples and scenarios where you learn by doing. I'm not a fan of trials of characters personally or at least the way Hoyo does it. There's very little explanation it's just - here's the character, press buttons and see what they do. You're trying to sell a character - give them a proper introductory tutorial at least. It's also evidenced by the elemental reaction tutorials in Monstadt it's basically element a+element b = reaction. Even reading the in-game text tutorial tells you nothing. There's little nuance or explanation as to key stats and factors into the reaction. Not everyone is a pro-gamer.
Yeah it's weird because HI3 does have tutorials where it guides you through the character's abilities. Not sure why the test runs in Genshin aren't like that.
I think a guided trial should be optional. Some people really do need/want to be shown how to play a character rather than told. I'd much rather watch a vid on how to play them later instead and just play the game. They also have trials for rerun characters that some players have/aren't interested in, so it would be nice if there was the option to skip to just using the character and get the rewards or something. That way, everyone's wants are satisfied as far as trials go
@@evewhoo yeah for sure that's the best of both worlds. The trial could first have a skippable guided tutorial followed by what we have in the trial now.
@@Moggetslittlesister I've actually really wondered this too. Even Zenless Zone Zero now has much more focused tutorials on how to use each character's skills. But particularly for Genshin's showcases, the little text box at the beginning does nothing for anyone. Plus, they tend to slap together rather sad team comps for these showcases. I've always thought they'd be a lot better if they used better team comps and actually walked you through the significant bits of their kit.
Yep its kinda the whole thing about assumptions that I was talking about at the beginning. Game developers usually assume some amount of baseline knowledge about games or what-not, which can inadvertently make a game inaccessible to some players. Which can be a good thing if they are trying to target a specific audience of course, but its especially problematic in a game like Genshin that can appeal to many
My mom recently told me, after years of disrrspecting video games and trying to dissuade me from playing them, that she wants to start learning how to play them ❤ I do not know what I should show her first. I was thinking Genshin just because it’s beautiful but probably need to show her something way less complex. Like Super Mario Brothers or something idk 😅 she is 72 yrs old and needs me to show her how to do things on the phone every time she sees me.
I think genshin is fine. She will probably tell you if it's too complicated and it's really nice to explore which she might enjoy. If she decides it's not for her try something slower like animal crossing or stardew valley!
it really depends on what kind of game she wants to play since there are so many different kinds (and what the game is being played on). my suggestion is something like animal crossing or stardew valley, or slime rancher, theyre not fast-paced and lets her get used to holding a controller and pressing buttons. you could even slow it down further with a turn-based game like pokemon which has cute creatures as well. mario brothers games are easy to pick up if she wants to try platformers. there are plenty of story-driven games out there, think about what kind of movies and tv shows resonate with her and go from there. i am totally biased because its my favorite, but if you want to show her something like genshin you can show her the legend of zelda: breath of the wild. its more skill-intensive than the others, but i find it very rewarding. i think the above are the most non-gamer friendly games, but there are also a lot of games that you can play together. snipperclips is adorable, and It Takes Two is very good as well (though i havent personally played it, just watched my friends). maybe sit with her and browse some games and see what stands out to her. watch the trailers, see what art styles appeal to her. maybe all the games i suggested are too cute for her and she wants something dramatic and dark, or a fighting game!
This may be my favorite account fixing video so far in terms of messaging and it’s why I prefer your account fixing videos to others I’ve seen. I hope it doesn’t come across as condescending but I love seeing older people playing games or participating in nerdy hobbies, and showing that sometimes what someone needs is just knowing where to direct their attention or how to utilize what they already have. Very fun
Me (An AR59 Genshin player who died a lot to arleccino) : Oh so that's how you defeat arleccino... No wonder i couldn't clear it on singleplayer, I just had to... read
You just unintentionally taught me that you could create up to fifteen teams, and I thought we were limited to four setups. Oh the many times I've spent reworking my fourth team slot. Thank you for mentioning how some games don't make certain things obvious, because I never really messed with team editing before. You sir, have a new subscriber.
In your defense, it was 4 until the Sumeru update (I think) but I don't think they really mentioned the team increase in the special program much, if at all. The qol updates tend to be announced in the developer notes which often go missed by players unless a YTber they watch covers them.
i like how really the only "fixing" that needed to be done was just some advice to her about how certain game mechanics work! genshin is really bad at communicating things to the player sometimes. i didnt even know what bond of life really was until u explained it in this video here!
this is so wholesome, kudos to Loredana and to you for this one! ❤ love to see elders enjoy genshin too without prejudice, everyone just vibing and having fun, I'd love to do co-op with a senior player
You guys would be surprised how many senior gamers are haha. I used to volunteer at retirement home (although it is a more lavish one) and i was shocked at them playing diablo💀 Edit: I also forgot to mention they love gambling so.. genshin is perfect😭
Thank you so much for your explanation about the difficulties for some players to understand terminology. Despite being a gamer for 20 years or so it took me ages to understand the charge attack - eventually I worked it out for the ice boss in Dragonspine but then I'd forget how to do it and struggle again. It also didn't help that any guides I checked would use PC commands to explain things and I play on the PS4. There are a lot of older gamers! I'm one too.
I feel like a decent addition to the game would be an option to enter like a "Tutorial/Practice" version of the boss fight that walks you through HOW the bosses mechanics work and what you need to do to counter or clear the effects they put on you. Of course, it shouldn't warrant any rewards, but it would give players who either 1.) Aren't well versed in games a chanced to figure out how things work, and 2.) People who don't read OR still don't understand how certain mechanics work a chance to figure things out without feeling like they're stupid for not being able to do something they weren't taught very well from the get go cause Hoyo failed to teach them how certain mechanics work.
Genshin does actually teach us how to charge attack I believe! In the tut with Paimon when we spawn on the beach, we run into a hydro slime and it says 'Click to attack' and then 'Hold click to charge attack' I'm pretty sure! I think most of us just skip that tut though haha.
@@rivenrimealso they only added tutorial search very recently. As someone who only plays on and off it always made me struggle with puzzles having to scroll god knows how long to find how that puzzle works
She has zhongli on every team Which probably means that she doesn't like dodging or is not good at it or maybe she doesn't know how to dodge? So i think it's ok to play with zhongli because she isn't about clearing things faster She just wants to play teams to just comfortably clear things even if it takes a little longer But i think she just takes all the dmg, don't really dodge at all because she thinks she has zhongli shield(which is enough in the majority of cases)but there are times like this Arlecino boss or the local legends who can still if not one shot, two shot you easily especially because your HP will not be full to prevent you from getting one shoted. So that's why healers are important too but a little bit of dodging is more important in these few cases.
Yeah he should of used xinqiu with arlecchino instead of yelan, basicly doubling the hp of arlecchino hp and zhongli sheild and acheiving about 37k hp on the sheild and 40k hp on arlecchino. And I'm assuming you don't do arlecchino perfect 18 second rotations so if you get hit/ you dodge more than 3 attacks you add about 2 seconds to your rotation which makes xinqiu's cooldowns which are good for someone like cyno alot better.
Try to understand that reaction response just isn't the same for older people. Also if some of the controls and game mechanics aren't fully understood it makes sense to just play wants comfortable and working.
I had a hard time with Inazuma because my kids were curious about what I was playing and loved doing the puzzles with me. By the time I got to Inazuma, I hadn't yet left Ritou and my son unlocked the whole of Inazuma to do all the puzzles. I was so overwhelmed. 🤣
Yeah, the charged attack isn't as obvious as the game developers might think. If I remember correctly I was also adventure level 60 when I first learned about it. Hadn't needed the Cryo Cube's items before since I didn't have Eula yet, so when I first went to fight it and it told me to use the charged attack I didn't know what to do and had to do the research. I had used charged attacks before (I know I found the "claymore spin" at some point), I just never knew what it was called.
74 yrs old and Its a Gacha Game. I can just imagine the amount of frustration she'd be having if she didn't spend money and losing 50/50. But i also think she might be just a 5* collector and lore enjoyer. Now with this guide she might as well have a good time in the challenging part of the game😊
One of the lost things about manuals in games is that they were often written in a way that non gamers could come away with an understanding of controls allowing the in game tutorials to be a bit more brief. In general, though, as gaming becomes more and more popular, we have to get into the mindset that people may need more thorough explanations. And this video does it wonderfully
My "I wish the game had told me this" moment was when I accidentally discovered that you can hold the attack button to make Ayato do his skill normal attacks. Before then I was clicking so madly that I thought the mouse might break. I felt like a proper idiot but also don't think this is mentioned anywhere in-game, so maybe I have a mild excuse for my stupidity.
Definitely think there should be like an info box as a reminder when you have all these mechanics in the menu prior to the boss battle. Just the game tells you “hey this is bond of life” “hey this is a charge attack” since they are important mechanics that the player needs to know for these fights.
I think it's great that she's playing at 78. Science has proven that gaming help prevent age related cognitive decline and dementia. Im 48 and no plans to quit gaming ever. Way to go! Also, that's part of why i wish there were some accessibility accommodations like the option of choosing bigger font for captions and text.
78 and ITALIAN 😄 kudos, there’s a huge stigma towards games in oldest generations here (even among us millennials sometimes) Edit: the team names!! They’re like “who knows” “maybe” “must try this” and such ahahah I love it Edit edit: one team is named “maybe for whale” 🐋
Building Qiqi is also great for accounts like these. (Meaning accounts that dont focus on abyss. Since killing enemies really quickly is not necessary in open world). If laradona has trouble surviving weekly bosses and such, then she can use an on field Qiqi team. Qiqi has some of the highest defensive base stats in the whole entire game (second highest base defense in the whole game (922 I think..something like that) and over 12k base hp if I recall correctly) and Qiqi can heal herself ALOT even if the build u use doesn't focus on healing. Meaning, u can take a whole bunch of damage with Qiqi and dont run a huge risk of dying. (Even with furina drain.) And if u want to be truly immortal u can stack beidou and xing qius damage reduction (that they get through their elemental burst). (Beidou requires a lot of energy especially if u dont use fischl on the team, so people need to keep that in mind.) U don't even need beidou. Xing qius damage reduction is more then enough. If u run a nahida,Xing qiu, (full em build) raiden/kuki shinobu, and Qiqi team, u have okay damage and REALLY great survivability. (With Qiqi being on field) There is also other Qiqi teams u can run that have less survivability but a bit more damage as well. All in all, I know laradona didn't specifically need help with survivability, but this is just something to think about if u just want to survive the abyss just to get the stars or just want to use a team where u don't have to worry about dying. Hell, I'm an ar 60 player who can consistently 36 star spiral abyss (and 6/8 star imaginarium theatre) and I still use on field qiqi/on field healer teams when I fight Arlecchino just because I don't want to worry about dying, lol. (And because I find those teams really fun XD)
@@Merritt_Maverick Good healers provide more utility than strictly healing. She has Xianyun, Bennett, Furina, and Baizhu. Neuvilette is self sufficient and would prefer a shielder. You can delete your reply now 😴
@@Rock-vk9ei , u r right about that. Not everyone has those characters tho. All I was saying is u dont need meta/ really strong teams to clear open world content , and if u don't have some of those options u can use something else. Also, if u do want to play abyss, U can also use Nuevi on one side and some other healer based team on the other side of abyss. (It does not have to be Qiqi. Was just saying qiqi's strength as an on fielder that is not talked about too much. There are better options though if u don't need the utility. One of my fav teams to use is on field kuki, nahida (prototype amber), furina and Yelan. It has a lot of off field talent damage and a lot of reaction damage.) I know u r probably a rage baiter, but I thought I mind as well reply any way XD.
Great suggestion! I habitually use Qiqi exactly for that. If I don't know what's coming I want the indestructible one! Once I know the mechanics I may use more fragile teams for the content.
26:02 I am not sure recommending a hydro team for Narwhal is a good idea for someone who just wants to have a easy time clearing bosses. Even if it is a Neuvilette team, that 70% hydro res isn't going to help her out.
awesome vid! I hope Loredona has a better time with her genshin experience now and many more good years on it. I started genshin a year ago but have come quite far.
Just a tip for other players that might struggle more often than they'd like... Add a blurb to your profile(signature) that says "Please Help" or something. When I'm not finishing up quests or farming, I'm 1000% going through the randomized list of online people to jump in and assist those that ask for it in their signatures. People need help with a multitude of things but most often they are world bosses and I'm sure there are tons of people similar to myself that are more than happy to jump in and assist people.
Gosh, I used to do that back in 1.x versions. Just popped in low AR worlds and asked if they needed help. Hoyo uses a lot of special terms and titles that obscure the meaning of mechanics and kits. Actually it would be a pretty awesome video, and maybe a series of shorts to explain the meanng of all these things. Since the game is so huge, and always expanding, you would never run out of content.
This really got me thinking about how seniors are the perfect tutorial testers: Not necessarily technologically literate, not familiar with gaming conventions and tropes, possibly having impaired vision or hearing, etc. I wonder if anyone in the industry has considered hiring/contracting elderly people for UX quality assessment. although, considering the industry's track record, that might not be the best idea lmao
I feel for her not knowing how to charge attack. Zhongli was my first 5 star when I started playing a year ago. I reached ar 50 with a level 80 zhongli when I realized you had to hold the skill to get the shield up. Under the talent description I didn’t realize you could scroll down T.T FOR SOME REASON I thought his talents had to be 10/10/10 to get the shield
Hehehe I had a bunch of 70+ friends in Age of Conan, they're the kindiest people. Genshin isn't much like MMOs, interaction is optional, zoomers have 0 patience and barely talk. I did made a few frens but not as much as I did helping nabs in MMO starter zones. But I'm very happy to see someone of her age appreciate the game for all it has to offer. My dad is a die hard Western fan and I couldn't even convince him to watch me play a bit of Red Dead 2 because its not dubbed in portuguese, so its always a joy for me when older people break out of their bubble and appreciate the good things we have today.
Use xinqiu zhongli core, xinqiu doubles the hp of any sheild and character. Zhongli has the thickest sheild. I would swap zhongli for kazuha but not swap yelan because xinqiu is really useful for his 53% dmg res an arlecchino already has so much dmg bonu that yelans isn't really useful.(they have an 7% dmg bonus) The only bottle neck is if you do perfect rotations, but dodging a couple times or getting hit or having high ping all increase your rotations by a couple seconds.
I personally prefer her overload team, but for vape I like Candace, Kazu and Zhongli with her. I don't use Bennet out of principle. The people who insist he's the best unit and I couldn't possible 36 star abyss without him early on in my game experience solidified my dislike of him. And guess what? I can totally 36 star the abyss without him.
thank you for this - this is really good for me, as someone who does struggle to clear weekly bosses (even sometimes domains and world bosses, especially with certain characters). i know some simple mechanics, but for example, i really struggle with certain things like getting enough energy on my characters, and actually remembering what things to level up. (i often have a lack of resources too)
It’s also important to remember that you don’t have to fight the weekly bosses (or domains in general) at the highest level. If you’re unable to clear it then lower it to a level you’re comfortable with until you’ve increased your character levels or learnt the bosses mechanics. You’ll get less drops but any drops are more than the none you’d get if you just can’t do it. It’s also a lot easier to learn a bosses mechanics and attack patterns if you’re at a low enough level that they don’t one shot you, so if you really want to do highest level and you’re close, practice at a lower level and just don’t claim any rewards.
I did this for a while as a new player who was struggling because I didn't know I had to build my characters and brute forced my way through ascension quests to advance the story and ended up under leveled and stuck on the road out of Ritou.

There's an old lady who plays Skyrim on TH-cam her name is Shirley Curry she's 88 years old.
FPS is just spamming buttons if not too much is going on besides your own skills
Gacha Games like Genshin are way more demanding your time on other stuff rather than only limited pulls.
Yes! Reminds me of a great yt series I watched a while back discussing game literacy - how people who have played many computer and video games have built in assumptions and habits that make learning new games easy, while a person who hasn't played a single video game before would struggle a great deal
it is to me too
I'm over 60, have been playing Genshin since a couple of months after launch, and just this year started defeating the weekly bosses and got through level 12 of the abyss.
Im a noob at exploring 😂so to me ur not a noob
Thats so cool! I myself am bad at the abyss
I thought I was old at pushing 40, since you see and run into a lot of barely adults playing this game, but I guess I'm still a youngling 0.o. (I'm still convinced 90% of the player base is casual, though)

holy hell she's made it farther than i have, and oh my god that 5-star roster is crazy haha

@@atomicgrave4340 you are so right
Genshin being as successful as it is is heavily in part due to its appeal on a more casual level.

Like Super Mario Brothers or something idk 😅 she is 72 yrs old and needs me to show her how to do things on the phone every time she sees me.
start with dark souls so she's battle hardened
Start with something really basic, like a Match-3. Or maybe a really straightforward JRPG. Unless she's looking to play an action game, of course.
maybe start with stardew valley or something along that alley
Very fun
help im so unintentionally early but this is so freaking cute i CANNOTTTTTT also me when im older fr

She grinds the game
she's an mmo player and is probably used to teammates helping her out.
wht a cracked title for a video
You guys would be surprised how many senior gamers are haha. I used to volunteer at retirement home (although it is a more lavish one) and i was shocked at them playing diablo💀
Edit: I also forgot to mention they love gambling so.. genshin is perfect😭
And I think it would be located in the menu under tutorials after that... But who goes looking in there?! Except to collect my primo. 🤷♀️😅
@@rivenrimealso they only added tutorial search very recently. As someone who only plays on and off it always made me struggle with puzzles having to scroll god knows how long to find how that puzzle works
She has zhongli on every team
Which probably means that she doesn't like dodging or is not good at it or maybe she doesn't know how to dodge?
So i think it's ok to play with zhongli because she isn't about clearing things faster
She just wants to play teams to just comfortably clear things even if it takes a little longer
But i think she just takes all the dmg, don't really dodge at all because she thinks she has zhongli shield(which is enough in the majority of cases)but there are times like this Arlecino boss or the local legends who can still if not one shot, two shot you easily especially because your HP will not be full to prevent you from getting one shoted.
So that's why healers are important too but a little bit of dodging is more important in these few cases.
Healers won't help if you get one shotted
@@krill419 but with healer you will be at full HP at least!
Well she’s ancient obviously she’d have a harder problems with reaction time, getting good at dodging is practically impossible for her.
Also if some of the controls and game mechanics aren't fully understood it makes sense to just play wants comfortable and working.
if genshin is somehow still alive 20 years from now and i have nieces or nephews i will strive to be like this lady
I aspire to be her when I'm her age! Gotta work first though, gotta make purse before retirement to whale
74 yrs old and Its a Gacha Game. I can just imagine the amount of frustration she'd be having if she didn't spend money and losing 50/50. But i also think she might be just a 5* collector and lore enjoyer. Now with this guide she might as well have a good time in the challenging part of the game😊
It depends. Usually the source of frustration is caused from expectation, and with age comes wisdom, so that's that.
Really wholesome video, she really had a good notion overall IMO, just a slight nudge here and there and she's pretty much set from the looks of it
One of the lost things about manuals in games is that they were often written in a way that non gamers could come away with an understanding of controls allowing the in game tutorials to be a bit more brief.
In general, though, as gaming becomes more and more popular, we have to get into the mindset that people may need more thorough explanations. And this video does it wonderfully
Legendary Genshin player
My "I wish the game had told me this" moment was when I accidentally discovered that you can hold the attack button to make Ayato do his skill normal attacks. Before then I was clicking so madly that I thought the mouse might break. I felt like a proper idiot but also don't think this is mentioned anywhere in-game, so maybe I have a mild excuse for my stupidity.
11:08 that eula has more er than 90% of the kazuhas i see :D
Found out that my teacher who's about 56 plays genshin and it shocked me but talking to him about it is pretty fun
I wish live like this when I retire
Hi Loredana Im so glad you're enjoying the game and hope you enjoy growing and getting better at the game!!
🥰
This is actually such a wholesome video, I love it! ❤
Way to go!
Also, that's part of why i wish there were some accessibility accommodations like the option of choosing bigger font for captions and text.
and people calling me old when I play this game. I'm 28😭 but I love that this game reaches people no matter what age they are
78 and ITALIAN 😄 kudos, there’s a huge stigma towards games in oldest generations here (even among us millennials sometimes)
Edit: the team names!! They’re like “who knows” “maybe” “must try this” and such ahahah I love it
Edit edit: one team is named “maybe for whale” 🐋
She has Zhongli

@@Rock-vk9ei , a healer helps more in arle fight and if u r farming the husk domain, or fighting corrosion enemies healers are better to have.
@@Merritt_Maverick Good healers provide more utility than strictly healing.
She has Xianyun, Bennett, Furina, and Baizhu. Neuvilette is self sufficient and would prefer a shielder.

Once I know the mechanics I may use more fragile teams for the content.
only 7 min in but this is my favorite video from u ever soluna ;0; very sweet
🥰🥰🥰
26:02 I am not sure recommending a hydro team for Narwhal is a good idea for someone who just wants to have a easy time clearing bosses. Even if it is a Neuvilette team, that 70% hydro res isn't going to help her out.
awesome vid! I hope Loredona has a better time with her genshin experience now and many more good years on it. I started genshin a year ago but have come quite far.

She might've not have known how to level Yae up, i mean it took me a month after i got her till i found out how to get the sakura thingies
Pretty sure I was a tour guide for at least 2 people, 2 different times in dragonspine lolol (with that awful darn questline). Wish i wasn’t so spooked now to join random co-ops to help and hang out
@@simplymisty_ same! Played Genshin since launch and I loooove seeing people going through content for the first time 🥰
@@zanziven yeah!! now i don't really get to even see low ARs 😭tried yesterday to join some people who said in bio they need help and had no luck with joining 😅 guess now theres way more tutorials and stuff so eventually people can get a hang of it on their own
Please do an update on this account later on if possible, it is genuinely intriguing.
Hoyo uses a lot of special terms and titles that obscure the meaning of mechanics and kits.
Actually it would be a pretty awesome video, and maybe a series of shorts to explain the meanng of all these things.
Since the game is so huge, and always expanding, you would never run out of content.
I actually might do this.
She's cleared more of the games quests and other nuisances than me ToT
This video is so chill, and I don't interact with the genshin community for very obvious reasons. But I will on this channel. Keep it up!
She's tech literate and has been playing mmos for a long time. Probably her first action-rpg/gacha game tho.
aw man, this is lovely!! so happy to see how many different people play this game!
wishing all the best to loredana!
Should be noted that the Scara boss "Nirvana Engine" is immune to physical, hydro and electro attacks.
Woahh I wasnt ready for how helpful the video is- thought it´ll be mainly entertaining and now I´m trying to fight bosses instead of only watching XD
And I thought I was an elder Genshin player at 42, bless the older gamers out there.
Same, 40 here, and I plan on gaming full time when I retire lol.
i almost screeched when this vanished from my feed when i switched apps but i found it by searching, curiosity has won me over
I feel for her not knowing how to charge attack.
English is not my first language too, let's see how many of us are there!
P.S. the video is just brilliant!
you called?
this is probabllly the coolest account review you have ever done
this video made me finally understand bond of life i think
Loredana, if you're reading this, you are an absolute gem and are now my new favorite person!! 🥰
Bet you’re going to call Rocky “nasty man” from now on…
As an Italian this is so cool to see. The names for the teams are so cute ahahha. Also the fact that she named Wanderer "Vagabondo" is hilarious:')
7:13 Zhongli is way better because he's easier to use xD
Kazuha Yelan Bennett for an Arlecchino team is very difficult to use. Arlecchino will die xD
If you have skill issue she will
not skilled enough
@@kamicokrolockbro has a grudge towards bennett 😭
thank you for this - this is really good for me, as someone who does struggle to clear weekly bosses (even sometimes domains and world bosses, especially with certain characters). i know some simple mechanics, but for example, i really struggle with certain things like getting enough energy on my characters, and actually remembering what things to level up. (i often have a lack of resources too)
This acc having the "parent" characters in their party is literally so senior-like 😂
(My grandma loved Raiden sm)
Thank you for this video! It was great fun to see how people of all ages are enjoying the game.
I did this for a while as a new player who was struggling because I didn't know I had to build my characters and brute forced my way through ascension quests to advance the story and ended up under leveled and stuck on the road out of Ritou.
i liked how sweet you was while reviewing her account!
