I concur and would like to add that the little taco is just as capable in its own right. As Paul used to wheel that hell out of it before the FJ was built.
I love the fact that "Graders" is entertaining the camera whilst eating pringles AND love the pure entertainment while there is NO foul language just pure Fab Rats quality!
Super cool seeing another demo of multi-part pulling with the Yankum setup. Alan and the crew there have really put some quality gear out. Fantastic work fellas.
An impressive recovery. That’s a lot of mass to drag up that hill. Also, equally impressive, the trailer that took the dive, still hauled the damaged truck home.
I have to admit this was one of your best videos yet. The amount of skill demonstrated by Paul and the gang was tremendous. Totally enjoyed watching them figure it out and succeed. Keep up the good work. This is exactly why I’m a loyal FAN!
The new awning looks like it did a good job 🙂 nice drone footage 🙂 The FJ is a monster ... the Tacoma is no slouch too...🙂 The truck owner has a GREAT attitude... flatbed, bumper grill, hood... a ranch truck etc...🙂 awesome use of applied science/engineering and wonderful machines to complete the recovery... what a recovery... Team Fab Rats for the WIN!
I know this was just run of the mill job for you, but for an old man from the city this was absolutely amazing. You all never cease to impress me with everything you do. Hats off to all and please keep it up.
Dang Paul , that FJ is deceivingly rowdy. Hearing that LS scream at the top of the hill is quite the gold star on your decision making abilities. Keep doing what you do.....
I like when Paul tells these guys to work. So many times I’m watching the guys watch Paul work . He’s earned the boss role cuz of his excellent work ethic.
Great team effort. Gotta say those guys were pretty lucky not getting injured. Love Paul's vision and leadership in what must have been a long tedious process.
Good Morning Paul and Crew! Hope You all are doing well! I find myself constantly and consistently Awaiting the next video to drop, I smash that like button before the video even starts because I've never seen one yet that wasn't rad. I love Paul's laid back attitude, and positivity and way he keeps a level head no matter the situation. I love seeing how good of a father, teacher and mentor is to his kids and has always encouraged them to use his tools and build their own stuff like the Derby Mowers, the Go carts and Dirt bikes and now their cars and trucks as they're old enough to drive. my dad was a great teacher to me with 2strokes and Old trucks but I was always scared shitless to use his tools when he wasn't there, not even sure why,he wasn't a mean dad or anything I think it was just me feeling like I was trying to be responsible and respectful, but I honestly wish I had wrenched on more as a little kid by myself, that's one of the best ways to learn hands on, trial and error, see what works and what doesn't, how something comes apart (and more importantly back together 😂) your kids are gonna all be super capable and self sufficient which is what every parent could hope to instill in the youth they are the future
Your little guy is getting big it's nice to see him hanging with Dad on these adventures very cool to have such a dad who is so cool to be with for him
A couple of minutes with the replacement Hunter swinging the camera and I realize what a great and steady job OG Hunter does. No vomit cam from the OG. Thx dude!
You'll find that the pulley rings like you're using here with no bearings act as a friction device under heavy load, and will lower your pulling efficiency a bunch! They work ok under normal conditions but instead of doubling you might only get 1.4 times the winch rating. I've done a similar winch-out like above before, but used a tree above the road with a pulley uphill in-line with the slope below the road, tow line through it to each car and just drove the winchin car downhill so the car that needed hauling went up like a lift! no need to rely on the winch power, just a long and strong tow line to the two vehicles. Can't imagine how much tougher it would have been in the cold and snow like this, though! hardly any traction. Great job mate
I been a tree climber ropeing and rigging for 28 years now and that ring is junk causing more friction than it's worth you could hear it on the video. Needs a good old-fashioned snatch block.💪
@@sawmillingGarry yep I do a lot of height safety work and all I could see there was a friction device, not a pulley! Snatch blocks with good bearings all the way! will make your nylon winch ropes and winch motors last longer, too
That was impressive, everyone did great. The Fab Rats crew got everything up on the road, the FJ is a beast, Harbor Freight 12,000 lb. winches rock, snow is fun to play in (as long as you look at it that way), that truck is salvageable and it'll live and drive another day, no one got hurt in the accident or in the making of this movie. Perfect, really.
That was one crazy recovery, I didn't know how you were going to do that without the wrecker. That was a lot of rigging. The FJ went down the ravine, pulled the truck and trailer into position and almost made it out, all in snow. And a bit of wrenching ahead on the Toyota now. A good day's work, always good to see these recoveries. Thanks for posting this one.
I cant believe you're doing this with such light vehicles. Ever think about building mounts to frame with long spikes to drive into the ground for anchor?? Like outriggers. Dandahermit
That was a crazy recovery. You guys made it look easy without your best vehicle. The wrecker and Ratback would have been perfect for this job. I hope you guys have warmed up after that one.
Quick question for the Fabulous Rats! - how long did that pull take? From when you got on site to when you started rolling the convoy? Hell of a nice job, looked like to me!
When Sean said how cold it was at 8 in the morning, I decided I should stop complaining when it’s 18 degrees here at 8 in the morning! And he wasn’t up on the mountain yet! 🥶 Gradon looked sooo unexcited when you started out but when you got to the spot he was in full on recovery (and camera) guy mode! Great job everybody, glad you got them out and everyone was ok! 💕👏💕👌💕👍💕
Yesterday morning we had sun and a heat wave in iowa. It was 16 degrees i was out plowing in a long sleve tshirt. Amazing how warm that sun is when you havnt seen it in a week and its been -20 lol
@@nwngunner absolutely! I used to live in Wyoming and when it was around 30 degrees, that’s when you left the down coats off! I am fully used to East temps now though. 😉
Greetings from Torrance, Ca! I couldn't help but think, that's not the first time I have seen Toyota's rescuing a Chevy. Good equipment makes the job easier. Thanks again to the crew! It must have been freezing!
Absolutely kicked ass with that recovery. Most people would’ve said, nah we need a big rig wrecker to get that out. That pure ingenuity and determination. I love it. Great job.
This was impressive, and great work everyone, including Michelle, and grandma Lolly! Them 2 don't get enough credit! Dont call me a wierdo, but y'all feel like dear friends! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Cool to see Grader helping out. He sure growing up fast. Paul definitely built a mean rig when he built the FJ. Seems mike him and Rory are the only ones that build good stuff. Good work guys. Love the real life no acting content.

Did Hunter fly the drone for the overhead footage? It was a great video worthy of an EMMY. Nice job Men.
Paul if you're going to replace Hunter please make sure the new guy carries a pocket knife before you hire him
No drama , no acting just figuring it out and doing it . Awesome
Him and Rory about the only one’s left. That don’t make it a huge drama show.
What’s wrong with drama? 😅
when its not fake or over exaggerated its fine, when its false like most channels its easy to tell and annoying@@donras564
agree, not interested in morr acting & drama

Heck of a recovery... that FJJ is a BEAST to pull all that weight in the deep snow.... totally impressed .... way to go guys
I am impressed with the Taco. Pulling that dead weight around was pretty impressive. Tight turn, very little room--and around she came!!
Just wait till it's got super duties and a LS
on the turn around you could hear something binding/popping and not happy probably when they lost the front drive line.
@@iffykidmn8170yep U joint wasn't happy, and eventually gave up the ghost

Great interview skills, Hunter. You asked all the questions that I was curious about.
More of that please. I always want to know what they were thinking.
