I had one of these back in 2006, it came with an old G13b engine which I didnt like because it felt crude. They later upgraded it with K12 4cyl NA engine which was much more refined. This Swift is considered first gen Swift in India (if you ignore the old ones sold in north america). It was solid for its time and was able to take abuse. The latest 4th gen is a new 3 cyl 1200 cc, softened up and feels more airy inside. Despite being a 3 cyl the engine feels super refined. The Sports versions sold in EU and Japan came with turbo.
I imported an 8th Gen into Australia. The 7th gen was sold here, made in India. It wasn't a Kei car here though, bigger engine. Still see a few around.
I really want to own a Swift back then but don't have enough money, so I get MR Wagon and still drive it daily, its been 12years now. Maybe someday I'm gonna buy a secondhand Swift for weekend driving.

Yes it does actually! This one is FWD but they did sell this generation in awd too!
