Not at all! You could, but I think that's only needed if you run a tent on the cap in my opinion. I did talk to the SmartCap distributor about it and they said "if it was reccomended, they would supply them with the cap". We are running only 270° awning and a few things like Traction Boards and rotopax on the cap, so it's not much weight. Previously had the RCI rack and tent and that setup weighed more, plus had me ON it with all my hunting gear and 60lb bag in it. We think bed stiffners will just cause stress some other place, so unless you are really running major weight, let it flex, don't waste the money.

​@@sushi_cars no problem, its like 4 bolts, but I think your ecu is bad they brake easy when the cars have been standing, your had a broken roof so think moister got in to your ecu and it located behind the passenger seat plastic

We always used to run KO's too, but this made so much more sense and was waaaay cheaper. Do you remember what you paid per tire? Have you been doing rotations?

@ 223.52 each and I have not done a rotation yet. I have had them about 2 months . Looking to Doing the rotation every oil change

To be honest, no. The end caps support no weight and are in a place where people step on them, meaning on 3 occasions, people slipped and fell getting in my truck. Other than that, it's fine, but the edges are cheap and cut/injection marks make them look low quality on close inspection. I would not buy them again. Thanks for the comment and support!

Sorry for the slow response! The ETC readers are used in a few states i think, New York State, Massachusetts, Delaware, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, and Illinois. You need to check the device is compatible but the main reason for having one, for westerners, is when you turn the car on, or insert a card, a little Japanese voice speaks and it's very novel. That's only accurate to certain markets. There's 190 plus countries on earth. So it's going to matter what country you're talking about

Sorry for the dickish reply, that was Mr. Yamada who we keep in a cage on only let out once a month for some vitamin D. The VIN system in North America has changed over the years in length, and Japan has a VIN code, but commonly they don't use the term VIN, they call it the Chassis Number, however it serves the same purpose and is adopted based on a different ISO code, and as such, uses a different length and different identifiers. Some VINs do have 17 characters, but not in Japan, unless that car has been made in another country and primarily for a different market, or it will likely have a "short vin" with less characters. Hope it helps

Only lost 1L/100km so less than 1 MPG. We went for C load, not E. Too many people think they need E load tires for off-roading, unless you are on a lot of broken rocks, crawling, C load is usually fine.
