Dvorak on gut strings - first day

I have a dream: to play Dvořák’s concerto on historical instruments!! (although it’s more difficult😅)HIP keeps advancing!!💪🏼Here I am spending my 15 minutes of “trying out something new today” (that’s why I got a ⏳to practice!) with this beautiful, tranquillising candenza… the beginning is like a deep meditation🧘🏻
What do you think??

Sounds beautiful! It will be hard to find a whole orchestra with historical instruments to make your dream true, but I hope it happens - something different!

Did you try Dvorak on your 5 string cello? I was amazed how you can beautifully sing many passages that 4 string cello bring us to high positions, so much so that I almost doubt if he didn't write this concerto for 5 string cello. He was a viola man, so his love was more for the beautiful tenor voice than demanding techniques.

How historically accurate it would be? Wouldn't the cellos neck be in the greater angle that is now a days normal?? And wouldn't the endpin be kind of mainstream by the time dvorak composed this piece? And would the tradition be playing with gut core and metal wired strings?? Otherwise a absolutely lovely idea! And don't get me wrong, I love it! It reminds me of the recording my current teacher Markus Hohti made of the brahms sonatas with pianoforte and wired gut strings but he had a modern cello and an end pin and I think a "normal" bow too, would absolutely recommend them! You can find them on any streaming platform.
