  • The two best selling midsize sedans..the 2020 Honda Accord and the 2020 Toyota Camry in their top trims against each other. Both are fantastic cars in this class and are very similar with what they offer. This Camry XSE V6 has some additional options while this Accord Touring 2.0T has everything that comes standard because Honda doesn't do options..just accessories. Leave your thoughts on each car and which one you would take!
Huge thanks to these two dealerships:

I have a 2005 accord exl manual for 10 yrs. Most I've done was clutch, drive shafts and upper and lower ball joints once each. I have 19" 47lb (w/tire) chrome wheels which is why I've done ball joints. My dad own a 2003 Camry that always has issues. He drives like old man he is. I burn tires often until I had to change clutch. Im on my 3rd gen accord with 17 yrs driving while pops been driving camry forever. We compare quality and efficiency all the time. Both cars are much better than class competitors either way.

Both are excellent cars. If you plan on keeping the car for many years get the Camry. A turbo puts more strain on the engine. Also check if that Honda engine needs the values gaped every so often. If that Honda engine calls for 0-16 oil, use it. Don't be cheap on the oil and changes.

I love Performance(power, strength&speed) and some Sound(good sound system) Now the 2020 Toyota Camry XSE with 301HP with 800 Watts speakers, very good reliable Transmission&Engine, and also the 2020 Toyota Camry XLE/XSE AWD is a win win for the Camry. I’m just gonna say OMG Honda is in big trouble, although they have great engine but they need bring that transmission reputation back. The Camry still remains a no match and you can’t beat that bro.

I like the integrated infotainment screen on the Camry over the accord, but I hate the red leather seats. Some red accents would’ve been great , but not the entire seats. If the engine on the Camry is both GDI and port injection that eliminates the crap that builds up on the intake valves of GDI only engines. I would still install an oil catch can on both cars though. If you’re gonna lease go for the accord, that way you won’t have to worry about losing engine performance when the gunk starts building up on the intake valves because you’ll be returning it to the dealer and it won’t be your problem anymore.

Camry V6 all the way... Loved to have chosen the Accord (driving experience/suspension) but the Turbo did it for me... i.e. the more moving parts, the more chances of something going wrong... I will remain old school until these new Turbo engine prove themselves as reliable as their Naturally Aspirated engines they replaced (which you could easily put with 500K+ miles on them if you take care of them)... likewise for the new CVT engines... I just love how reliable the (Honda/Toyota) automatic transmissions have proven themselves since the early 90s.

Honda Accord hands down. Im the original owner of a 2000 Accord with 391,000 miles and shes still going with no issues. I also have a 2016 Accord, once that one is paid for getting the new Accord for sure. Love the style, equipment and wheels of the new Accord Sport 2.0t.

Team Camry all day, everyday. The styling on the Camry looks bold, but clean. The Blizzard White pearl is beautiful, but I prefer the ones without the black roof option. The Accord looks like an Impala love child to me. It’s not bad, but just doesn’t work overall to me. The Camry interior wins me over with that crazy sexy red interior. The traditional shifter is much more to my liking as well. Honda offers some equipment that the Camry doesn’t, but the big ticket items like the panoramic roof and JBL audio are missing form the Accord. The hard touch plastic door panels in the rear of the Accord are blatantly downmarket. I wonder why Honda can’t beat Toyota on gas mileage? The Accord has nearly 50 less hp, 2 extra gears, and weighs less but on ties the Camry. I also have to add that my 2015!Legacy has ventilated brakes front and rear. Lol

I’m with you! They’ve both done a nice job but yeah those big items on Camry really stand out. Good question about the MPG. Same size wheels too. Who knows lol.
Great to hear about your Legacy haha that’s awesome!! Good ok Subaru safety right ?!

Prime Autotainment you know it. Haha. It also has active torque vectoring which I don’t think was on too many mid-sized sedans at the time. Thinking about upgrading after New Years. Can’t decide between a Crosstrek, Forester, or Outback. 🤔

Prime Autotainment. Love the comparison! No contest I’d take a v6 Camry.
The accord may be sharper but it looks terrible up front and too civic like out back. Plus the v6 in the Camry is more refined. Plus the hud is done better than the accord and it has a 360 cam and a pano roof. Oh and the rear doors become soft in the Camry in top trims unlike the accord

Of course Camry better and since has a v6 engine means more life for the car. It’s beautiful from any angle

This was an excellent review. You touched every category I would think is important and you did it with fine style. I've been a big fan of both vehicles for a long time. I had 3 XLE V-6 Camry's since 2012. I now have a 2019 Honda CR-V Touring, which I really like. As you know, it's much different than the Camry or Accord's you reviewed . I have to admit that I miss the power and that addictive growl of both. My CR-V has the 1.5L Turbo, which is decent for the application. Car & Driver rated it a 7.4 sec 0-60, which is quite good for the segment. It doesn't compare to like 5.5 or 5.6 for the Accord and 5.8 for the Camry. Still loved watching this review as it took me back and experienced both vicariously. Thanks !

Thank you so much Michael! I’m glad to hear that. Very cool..I’m a fan of the CR-V, such a great value and like you said that power plant is surprisingly quick for the segment. I used to drive a V6 back in the day and miss that too...definitely more fun to drive. Did you see Toyota just announced they’ll be adding AWD for 2021 Camry? Pretty sweet. I appreciate the kind words and thanks for watching!

You are more than welcome. I just read an article about the new AWD. It stated that it would be available on the 2020 Camry or at least that is how I understood it. It was clear that it will be offered ONLY on the 4 cyl Camry. I'm not sure if that is going to change in the future, but it is how it will be initially. If you are anxious to verify this I can try to find the source again, but you probably can find it by searching. Thanks again. Found this source.
Was reading about the new Camry TRD , too. That is very intriguing as well. Car & Driver, Motor 1 etc have info.
