- In Today's Project Zomboid video, I take on the Zero to Hero trait challenge with the Schizophrenia mod installed. Our Protagonist Lonny Love, attempts to survive in Rosewood with his eyes set on exploring more of the world.

I'd honestly turn multi hit on again. People can bitch about it being easier all they want but it's debatable which is more realistic anyway: If you shoved a zombie into another zombie would the second one phase through the first and immediately bite you before you could shove again? No. If you swung an axe at two zombies' heads would it hit both of them? Yes.
hoenstly this is based af, but it just makes it harder i think and adds to the challenge. cause once ur zomboid character reaches a certain point you can mow down zombies with multi weapon hit on and it can make the game too easy imo. doesn’t stop me from always having it on tho lol
I disagree, if you think you'd be able to hit an axe through a zombie's skull, and do any damage to a second one, you're insane. You'd need both a really HEAVY and large axe, and someone with such a strong build, to one tap two zombies at a time
And yes it makes the game insanely easier, the game eventually become about clearing areas to properly loot them without takign too much risk, multi hit makes that task much easier.
Plus, the objective without multi-hit is to also level up a bit Nimble, so you can move fast enough so you can safely hit a congoline of zombie without taking a risk.

@18:26 when your pushed by the hallucination and your wondering why you got injured. I have schizophrenia and things can physically touch you, make u think and feel u been hurt and hurt you. It's one hell of a disease. I always see it in games but this is one of the best interpretations I have seen

@sushijams I've had it for a long time but I didn't know of the problem for like 8 years I thought I was going crazy (already there but ya know lol) then I got put on meds and stuff stopped touching and hurting me. I got off the meds (pharmacy ran low) stuff started back touching me.
Also I don't knoe who if anyone u know in your life who has schizophrenia but I say this in the most realist way possible. Let them know the dangers of smoking weed, it causes alot of trippy shit to happen and if u aint prepared for it or don't know about it, something u just learn the hard way. @sushijams if I had to compare it to something it would be like ghost pains. In the sense of your leg hurts but ur legs been amputated its no longer their but your brain sending signals that it is there and it's hurting
@@jhonnyappleseed4130 I had a friend back on middle school who carried clozapine every day with himself. Both he and myself where "crazy" as some could say while watching us slander each other in the most funny ways possible(I have* ADHD... "got" isn't the right word to descibre it...). Sometimes I miss that moments so much. We never met again after. We combine like wine and cheese back then.
The schizophrenia mod added with Lingering reflexes and whispers also almost made me insane lol. Good mod though.

So my take on the shoving was this: You cannot punch a zombie with out damaging it unless its in the head, by doing so you put your hands at risk from a bite.
Additionally, you shouldn’t be able to kill a zombie without destroying the brain, and I don’t think anybody is strong enough to crush a human skull with punches.
I would love to see more attempts at the zero to hero challenge, this video was a good length to watch while i was doing a workout. It may be your habit of playing seemed to very heavily feature you finding and using all sorts of cars, i personally dont use them all that much until i am ready to venture a bit further.

@@makellelegr no its not.. to be able to swing ur axe through 1 dude u need to be able to cut clean human body and all the bone and damaging the guy beside it without losing any force is impossible.. not to mention blunt weapon that dont have cutting power.. maybe u can hit 1 dude with blunt wep to make the other beside it get push but then again u need to be really strong to that and prob not gonna do that much damage on the 2nd dude.. being able to hit 3 people with the same amount of force is really unrealistic
@@nicolasbram165 you dont need to cut through someone to hit the other person lmao, you can hit alot of people with a baseball bat in real life just cut them and then keep the swing. Also the thing with the same power is true but thats too detailed to be using as an excuse to say multi hit is not realistic.
With the literature mod that gives you books for sneaking and other skills, you can change them into books for other skills, like sneaking to lightfooted, long blunt to all weapons except guns
you should try the Only Cure mod, its pretty cool and i always use it in my playthroughs. when you get bitten you have the option to amputate your hand/forearm/arm. you could have gotten a lot further if you had this mod installed. i honestly think this should be a feature in the vanilla game cuz its such a cool concept
i’ve got it installed for my latest videos, still waiting for a chance to use it, feels strange actually wanting a zombie to bite me so I can cut off my arm 😭

When foraging, you get exp for finding something, you then get more exp for picking it up or discarding it. Never just leave them on the ground, its wasted exp unfortunately. At lower levels with tiny searching area, you need to get every bit of exp you can get.
Edit: Also, walking over with 50% encumbrance slowly levels strength. Thats where your second level of strength came from.

I’d disagree about the whole punching thing in the beginning. I think that if you were smart you would not punch a zombie that is infected in the head. If you punch it in the teeth or punch it in a part of its broken skull and it breaks the skin on ur hands than that’s essentially like getting bit. Pushing to the floor and stomping the brain with a shoe on ur foot is way way way smarter.
That's a fair point, but I wouldn't want to shove a zombie either. To reach its chest, you'd have to get past its outstretched hands.

There is. I'm not sure what actually comes on at midnight
turns off multihit but cars are full durability and gas and theres more cars spawned at the police station than all of rosewood in my runs.

This was my first challenge this week. I think that multi hit isn't fit for my experience. I tried it once and never used it ever after. It didn't felt realistic enough. Like staggering 2 zombies with a single blow was really silly for me to watch. Some* mods I didn't used also. Only the weapon & armor ones from the supposed era where zomboid is set. I tried that SWAT one aswell. It is really op there is no doubt. All of it is my personal preference since everyone can play as they want.
I finally tried schizophrenia trait and man it's brutal. I decided to spawn in as a burn victim with a broken leg on top of schizophrenia. Character had an episode and took away my control and waited for a few hours until they were a few seconds away from death
Dam! that sounds like one of the worst starts you could have lol
that mod almost made me insane. Zomboid can feel really empty and quiet some times. Lingering reflexes & whispers combined with this mod is just trauma inducing material.
Can you not smash the windows tha. Hotwire the cars?
I think that you can find some car keys by foraging near some cars
I know you can find some on the floor nearby, i’ll see if foraging increases the chances of finding some

I was under the impression (for about 300 hours now) that cramming in a bunch of exercise at once only brings diminishing returns while maintaining regularity was what actually helped increase strength and fitness (kinda like in real life). Have I been wrong and wasting my time all these years? Lmao

You should start with illiterate and get the "learn to read" mod. Also, the only cure mod seems fair.
Imo raised fists doesn't make sense I feel like it pretty hard to kill someone with bare fists, nvm someone that is already dead. and with zero stats or skills that's gotta have broken your hand after the 3rd or fourth skull caved in. Personally id much rather push a zombie over and curb stomp them.

Dont forget you can smash windows (including car windows) with your weapon (or in a pinch even using your hand/elbow)

I'd agree that Mac's are bad for gaming but they can run a lot of less graphically intensive games pretty well. My parents had a family one and I got into Roblox with that computer.

Reason for not breaking vehicle windows early game?
Think I'm always reluctant to damage windows in case I can find a key. I also can't really do much with them, whilst I don't have the skill to Hotwire them
@@sushijams just in case you dont know, keys can spawn in the globebox (the people of kentucky really like locking their cars with the keys inside apparently)

Kinda takes away some of the challenge when you have busted armor mods that you add to the game...
This is not really zero to hero, besides the no stats there should not be any treats as well, except Schizophrenia, unfit, weak and underwight. That's the real challenge.
Take the True random spawn mod to spawn anywhere on the map, spawn with no clothes, no treats, no stats, that is trully zero to hero as I see it.
What does schizophrenia does in this game?
you hear voices, see zombies that aren't there which lead to you dropping your weapon, freaking out, falling over and injuring yourself, You can hear gun fire and helicopters that aren't there and you laugh to yourself a lot

... There shouldn't be any zombie on your starting house. Hundreds of playthroughs and none encountered in starting location. Which makes me think that you put yourself in there but i will give you that much headstart nonetheless

for me multihit take away the challenge from the game.. the game became very easy with multihit even with 16x pops.. if u play for the challenge then play with multihit off.. there no point making challenge run if u using multihit imo..

It's always the time settings that making cooking and properly taking care of your character not worthwhile, so one always ends up snorting a whole can of powdered eggs, or 500g of dried lentils for a meal, while either constantly clicking through the menus, or just not giving a damn about those 2+ deep red moodles.
Honestly, I cannot recommend trying out 2 hours per day in the time settings, instead of the default 1
