Theres an easier power source in the rear view mirror. On the drivers side, theres a plug with 5 wires, top one is white, 3rd one is black. This is positive (white) and ground (black). If you use a mirror tap for a radar detector, you can easily run both a detector and camera as they both draw very little power.
some dude on ranger6g did that and it messed something up and now has some errors on the gauge cluster and ford is refusing to repair under warranty cuz he tapped into the electrical
@@flaberdoopin yea it is! could be coincidence but something about his collision assistance or something, its on one of the threes about mirror tap or mirror power
I don't know why new cars just don't come with dash cams included - all cars now have a giant camera cluster at the front (just throw in a normal recording camera in that) and a rear reversing camera that could just always be recording. Put an option in the software to enable or disable dash cam recording, and have an SD card slot in the glove box for video files to be recorded onto. It's getting so much harder to mount a dash cam in new cars where it isn't in the driver's field of view due to the massive bulk behind the rear view mirrors Also - crazy that the US model doesn't have the USB port up by the rear view mirror - it even has the indent in the shrouding for the USB port...
@@stuartmunto4755 I was thinking the same thing… it has cameras front and back and also on the side view mirrors looking down… makes sense to be able to record what is happening in case of an accident.
right on... you can get them on amazon but make sure you get the really small ones, apparently there are like 4 different sizes of fuses... i kept trying the wrong one at first haha. then i went back and found the right one in the kit

The phone mount / charger is a mophie vent mount. It has mixed reviews overall but I love mine. Hey, what do you think of that 2025 marsh gray color coming? Looks like a lighter shade of shelter green on the ford website. And I guess no metallic.
That’s a pretty cool color. I’m not sure I would go with the marsh gray if I was getting a new truck but I do think it looks good

That is correct. I run 93 with the tune and don’t plan to go lower than that unless only 91 is available but with tune 91 is minimum

Why not use the digital rear view mirror you previously installed as a dash cam? (currently trying to decide on a digital RVM for my Ranger)
