Right on. It is certainly a bit of a pain but it has its moments. I have learned a lot from the people who comment and the videos I watch to make sure I know how to do all of the crap I try haha

@@flaberdoopin Yep same. Your videos are going to cost me lot of money. I have wish list already but first is hardwiring my radar detector + phone combo and Dashcam. I plan on doing a DIY camera battery pack vs paying the crazy $ that camera manuf asking. First annoyance I ran into already is Ranger has short stem mirror so my blendmount doesn't fit, had to order special one for ranger.

Yeah, you may be able to call them. For me the rears were the more important to avoid flinging rocks at the cars behind me

holy crap, that is insane! If a nut wasn't torqued correctly, wouldn't the fix be to torque it down properly? that seems pretty easy, not sure how there isn't a fix right now. throw some locktite on it and torque it down instead of letting people destroy their trucks on a highway when their front end falls apart! @@flaberdoopin I know crazy right, some posts on ranger6g say the part (nut and bolt) combo is only good for a 1-time use, also another post says don't touch your truck if it is one of the affected ones have the Ford dealership do the recall fix when it is available and keep the paperwork after the work is done. Obviously, you want to go that route for legal, and warranty reasons. ✌

I think you are referring to the Oil Temp and Oil Pressure gauges that are on the dash. there is no gauge for oil life or level other than the setting to check oil life %. Hopefully that answers your question. From my understanding there is a low oil level light that will come on if you are burning or leaking oil but you will also see a significant drop in oil pressure and that is why i keep that gauge visible while driving.

Yeah, I have heard from quite a few people that the cam phasers are an issue. Some mention that it’s just a 3.5 issue and then there are some RR owners that are having problems. I don’t remember hearing anything about cam phasers when I had my Explorer ST with the same motor. But like you said, it’ll be a warranty thing if it happens before 5 years and 60k miles.

Yeah glad it is under warranty. Ford roadside took care of the tow. I am guessing I have to have them do the tune again unless the computer stays in tact and it’s just the engine that is changed.

I have heard from other people that have the OEM mud flaps that the hardware isn’t as stout. And from the looks they aren’t as low which could actually be a good thing but I prefer these that stick out about an inch and hang down a bit more for a bit more protection and the material feels plenty strong with great mounting hardware

from what i understand, an authorized ford performance retailer can not ship the tune to california. I have been told that the dealerships will not install the tune in California but my question with that is what about all of the military members that have their vehicles registered in other states that do not have to do SMOG tests and other California regulated things. If i were to get stationed in San Diego and i keep my truck registered in VA and something breaks, it seems to me that ford and ford performance would still have to cover any repairs to my truck under the warranty for the tune. I have called ford performance a few times and they are pretty helpful. you may be able to give them a call and see what they say.

I have and it sounds really good. The reason I went with the 8” over the 10” was for tighter more responsive bass and it delivers

I didn't make a video on it but i can totally do one the next time i take it off of the truck. This is the Yakima outpost rack with the Tonneau cover T-slot footpack. I also have the Yakima LockNLoad on top of it to mount my shower and hammock stand.

That is correct. I run 93 with the tune and don’t plan to go lower than that unless only 91 is available but with tune 91 is minimum

The phone mount / charger is a mophie vent mount. It has mixed reviews overall but I love mine. Once I got the angle I wanted I actually threw some locktite threadlocker on the ball and socket to keep it from slipping when I was bouncing around off-road. Only bummer is that it blocks the air in the vent from being pointed at me but it is what it is

@@Brob90 it is the ford branded (basically just a ford sticker stuck not it) version of the Retrax ONE XR but i got a deal on one from the previous model year ranger and had to modify the mounting hardware to make it fit. But for $200 bucks i couldn’t turn it down. Simple answer to your questions is that it’s a Retrax ONE XR. Cheers

@@stuartmunto4755 I was thinking the same thing… it has cameras front and back and also on the side view mirrors looking down… makes sense to be able to record what is happening in case of an accident.

@@NARoutdoors it was constantly turning on from misheard voice commands that cant be turned off and out on the trail with all the bouncing around it would turn on as well. The quality of the video was outstanding and the low light was great as well but i just didn’t like how hot it got and didn’t want it turning on all the time

FYI.. I took the voltage controller and tucked it with fuses out of the way. It's on 12 and not planning on going 11.6 so no biggie. If I DO want to change it I can just go into the fuse area and do it.

@@mariarob that’s smart… i have it set to 11.6 but will probably switch it over to 12 as well.

The only three light options that i have seen so far are sets of 6 led bulbs in each spot… i think that doesn’t look all that great so i went with the 4 that are uniformly lite… to each their own… i cant help it if your opinion is completely wrong. @@Sten-n2v Okay. I’m not above learning and improving myself. What is naive in your opinion, constructive feedback is just that, and i am willing to learn. As for the dash cam, why would it need to be in the center below the mirror where it would block a little bit of the drivers line of site, it has a 170 degree field of view so it’ll catch anything i need from right there instead of being 3 inches lower and 5 inches left.

right on... you can get them on amazon but make sure you get the really small ones, apparently there are like 4 different sizes of fuses... i kept trying the wrong one at first haha. then i went back and found the right one in the kit
