  • This is a detailed tutorial on how to rebuild/replace the fuel injectors on a 2000 Honda CRV. This is an easy project that anyone can do! The only tools used are a ratchet with a #10 socket, and needle nose pliers for removing the hose clamps. All replacement parts used were original Honda parts ordered from hondapartsnow.com and are linked below.

Thank you so much for helping me. I have a 1998 Honda CRV that this just about 250,000 miles and I am trying to get it ready to drive from my home area DC to TX alone, and it's been having some trouble, so I am looking up for all the help I can get repairing it myself. So I do sincerely Thank you.

Thanks for the video....My CRV gen 1's fuel injector on slot 1 is not working...(All slots are working fine)
I bought 1 set (4 pcs/surplus.....difficult to find brand new parts in our area) and install it but still won't work.....
I cleaned the injectors as well, test the resistance....they are working fine...but when I put it on the engine...still won't work
    any suggestions?

Sorry for your troubles, I can see why that is so frustrating. Have you tried to swap out injectors to see if the trouble follows the bad injector? if that doesn't help you can test to see if maybe your wiring is bad etc. I hope you get this figured out. Andre-z

Hi there, nice video. Do you have to disconnect the battery before you start?

Hello Jen, I always disconnect the battery any time I am working on a vehicle... Im just a DIY guy so I feel safe knowing its disconnected. hope that helps you. thank you. Andre

I'm having a crank no start situation and it seems to stem from fuel as removing the resonator and trickling gas into the plenum seems to fire her right up, if I keep trickling she will keep running. My main relay works and I've swapped with a new one with same result. I can hear the fuel pump hum and gas pours from either end of the banjo bolt be it fuel filter or fuel rail side. I removed the fuel rail with everything in tact and when cranking the engine, the fuel injectors just shoot a small straight squirt like a bad squirt gun. I'm curious if it's the fuel pump not giving enough pressure or if it's the injectors, maybe something else.

Let me start by saying I’m not a mechanic just a diy guy. My crv would run perfect when cold and then once it warmed up it would sputter and quit. I changed the fuel pump cleaned the injectors and still happen. It turned out that the valves needed to be adjusted. You may want to check the pressure on the fuel rail too. I bought the test gauge from hf worked good that’s how I knew the new pump didn’t make a difference. I hope this helps. All my best. Az

Would there be anything different for a 2001 crv? I know the engines are extremely simuler so id imagine that the process is close for my car.

I don’t think there’s much difference. One thing forgot from the comments from another comment was the filters. Let us know if you find/do them.

Do you know if this would fix a misfire on my third cylinder?

    • @ap104

Trevor, thank you for your question. cleaning your injectors is a good maintenance item but I am not sure if this will remedy your misfire. The reason I did this service was due to fuel leak. Since I was going to replace the seals it makes sense to do the "cleaning" too. When I took the fuel rail off it was very dirty with carbon build up so this service was needed. I hope you find what your issue is. Let me know if you have any other questions. All my best, Andre-Z

I just recently did this service myself. I ended up busting 2 of the fuel injector o-rings. They where hard to get in there. But I didn't think of using oil on them to help them slide in. Luckily I had 4 extra o-rings. Good video, should have watched it before hand.

Hi Andre, I have a niggling problem with my Gen1 Honda CRV and have been scouring TH-cam for an answer. Is this something you've experienced before?
    Symptoms:
Crank no start after a 20+ minute drive if she's been off for 2min-2hours. (I can turn her over eventually after a few 5 seconds attempts at ignition while pumping the accelerator). Otherwise she starts fine immediately after turning her off or after a long rest.
She also has an issue overheating so I wired the radiator fans to always engage while the A/C is on. She still overheats if it's a hot day (32C / 90F).
    Things I've tried:
    Replaced fuel pump
    Replaced ignition coil
    Replaced spark plugs
Previously, she had a coolant leak so I used an appropriate radiator stop leak solution after being unable to find the source of the leak. Still leaks a little though (no burning oil smell)
I'm praying she can pull through!

Just want to be upfront I’m not a mechanic just a friend trying to help. I did have a similar problem with my v it would run but once it warmed up it would sputter and stall. Turned out to be the valves were out of adjustment. On the b20 engine the mechanic told me the valves tighten. I hope that helps. Not sure on the radiator but you need to make sure to get all the air out of the system after you change coolant. Best, Andre

@@ap104 Thank you for the reply! I saw a few videos demonstrating a Honda CRV valve adjustment. I might have to try it, I'm sure it's been a while since her last one. All the best!

Sasha, I didn't see filters on these. But if there are serviceable I think it would be a good idea to change them... good idea.

Oh, and what symptoms was your CRV having?

    • @ap104
      @ap104  ปีที่แล้ว +1

valves needed adjustment. CRV would die when warmed up. started with a hesitation and then it would sputter and die. on my B20 the valves would need adjustment about every 3 years. hope that answers your question.
