    So you need the power source to toggle the fuel injectors to open? I would think just soaking or spraying the carb cleaner directly into the ports would work, but guess not. I'm gonna try to rebuild the fuel injectors in another month or so with the seals and o rings you posted in your other video but it's still gonna cost me about 90 to order those parts so need to wait a couple pay periods. Thank you for posting, Mr. MacGyver!

    Blake sorry you’re having trouble. I am not sure why the new one didn’t work. I’m sure you double checked the connection. Beyond that make sure you put the pump in the right position so there’s no interference with the float. Hope this helps.

    Any reason that may fuel gauge would stop working after installing a new pump? The old one worked (changed due to extended crank and 10psi below spec after pressure test)

    Greetings, I am not sure if this could be the culprit, when my CRV had a problem with staying on I did this repair thinking the pump was failing but it turned out that the valves were out of adjustment. Somehow they got tight??? So for all this work and cost!!! It was a valve adjustment for mine. Again mine would run good then once it heated up it would sputter and die. Once it cooled down it would run fine. I know this doesn’t answer your question but it may lead you to a solution . All my best, Andre

    I'm having a crank no start situation and it seems to stem from fuel as removing the resonator and trickling gas into the plenum seems to fire her right up, if I keep trickling she will keep running. My main relay works and I've swapped with a new one with same result. I can hear the fuel pump hum and gas pours from either end of the banjo bolt be it fuel filter or fuel rail side. I removed the fuel rail with everything in tact and when cranking the engine, the fuel injectors just shoot a small straight squirt like a bad squirt gun. I'm curious if it's the fuel pump not giving enough pressure or if it's the injectors, maybe something else.

      Let me start by saying I’m not a mechanic just a diy guy. My crv would run perfect when cold and then once it warmed up it would sputter and quit. I changed the fuel pump cleaned the injectors and still happen. It turned out that the valves needed to be adjusted. You may want to check the pressure on the fuel rail too. I bought the test gauge from hf worked good that’s how I knew the new pump didn’t make a difference. I hope this helps. All my best. Az

    Hi Andre, I have a niggling problem with my Gen1 Honda CRV and have been scouring TH-cam for an answer. Is this something you've experienced before? Symptoms: Crank no start after a 20+ minute drive if she's been off for 2min-2hours. (I can turn her over eventually after a few 5 seconds attempts at ignition while pumping the accelerator). Otherwise she starts fine immediately after turning her off or after a long rest. She also has an issue overheating so I wired the radiator fans to always engage while the A/C is on. She still overheats if it's a hot day (32C / 90F). Things I've tried: Replaced fuel pump Replaced ignition coil Replaced spark plugs Previously, she had a coolant leak so I used an appropriate radiator stop leak solution after being unable to find the source of the leak. Still leaks a little though (no burning oil smell) I'm praying she can pull through!

      Just want to be upfront I’m not a mechanic just a friend trying to help. I did have a similar problem with my v it would run but once it warmed up it would sputter and stall. Turned out to be the valves were out of adjustment. On the b20 engine the mechanic told me the valves tighten. I hope that helps. Not sure on the radiator but you need to make sure to get all the air out of the system after you change coolant. Best, Andre

    • @ap104
      @ap104 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late reply... I hope you were able to get your CRV going strong. The cause for this can be so many different things... I would start with the checking the codes. If you don't have a code-reader, you can pay a Mechanic to diagnose it. Fuel pumps and injectors are very expensive so it would be worth going down this path. Please share your results with our group. Have a wonderful day. Andre-z

    What’s the mileage on this Crv? Just curious on average what age these fuel pumps go out. I recently ran some gummout fuel system cleaner in my 2000 Crv. Two days later I’m now having trouble starting on warm starts. After turning over a while it fires up and sputters a bit, then clears up. Fuel pump maybe ?? I’m pretty sure the Gummout ruined my fuel pump. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks for the detailed video. Great resource!

    • @ap104
      @ap104 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, thank you for your question. I would recommend that you test before you replace your pump.... get a fuel pressure tester, I got mine at harbor freight. I had a similar thing happen to my CRV when it warmed up and it turned out that the valves were tight... common problem with these B20 engines. It helps to pay for a diagnosis if you want to do the work yourself, you can pay a mechanic to tell you what's wrong and then you can get after it. paying for the diagnosis does save money, these pumps are expensive. I hope this helps you. Please write us back so we can all benefit from what you do. Best, Andre-Z

      Trevor, thank you for your question. cleaning your injectors is a good maintenance item but I am not sure if this will remedy your misfire. The reason I did this service was due to fuel leak. Since I was going to replace the seals it makes sense to do the "cleaning" too. When I took the fuel rail off it was very dirty with carbon build up so this service was needed. I hope you find what your issue is. Let me know if you have any other questions. All my best, Andre-Z
