Good honest review. I love my 2010 4.4 TDV8. Cost me a fortune this month with brakes all round, tyres all round and wheels refurbed 😂 people think we’re crazy but they just don’t understand what it’s like until they’ve owned a L322. If your wanting rid of the private plate I’d buy it off you?
Yes, I suspect my brake bill will be significantly higher for this even if I do change them myself! It's definitely the best all-round car I've bought I think 😁 While I wouldn't buy a private plate, there is something refreshingly timeless about having one fitted to an L322, so I will probably just leave it on the car - especially as it ties in to the car's spec! Hey, just got yourself a new subscriber and the reason, your L322. Now I sold mine 3 year ago, reason for selling was my wife found out the MPG of it (I tried to keep it a secret but it got let out of the bag🤷) Mine was returning 27 around town and 36 on a very soft peddle M way run (3.6 V8 D) but who is in a rush? I really do miss my RR, the ride, the comfort, the smell and yes the problems it pulled out of the bag at any time it felt like it. When I sold it, it didn’t have anything wrong with it, but having a firm hand shake with the new owner and words of wisdom, don’t ring me if it goes wrong anytime soon. But that is the exiting bit, just like owning a Fiat, you have one and it’s not going to get you home 😂 To be fair mine never left me stranded and I did drive it through some atrocious weather many times across the A66. Anyway good luck with your channel and I will be looking out for more content on your RR 🏴
Thank you so much for the lovely comment! Glad you have happy memories of your time with your L322. Unfortunately, I have since sold this car and gone back to something a little more sporty. I do, however, definitely miss the ride comfort, seating position and fantastic amount of torque on tap. We do have a couple of other videos of this specific car on the channel, as well as reviews of a newer L405 RR and the L320 RR Sport, so have a look out for those! 😊
Interesting presentation young fella (I am so much older sad to say). Bit miffed about removing the Union Jack, it looked very small anyway. I guess most people in the UK realize it is a British car, but it has worldwide status and a little Flag denoting its heritage is just fine, as MANY foreign countries would dearly love to present it as 'theirs' - but cannot!
Thanks for watching, I replaced the numberplates as they were a bit old and tired and I preferred the cleaner look of the plate with nothing on the left hand side of it 😁

Great video. Just spent 2.4k on service and gearbox filter and fluids and transferbox and fluids and front lower suspension arms and rear bushes. New tyres all round at £800 and wheel refub next week. God I love my L322 xx
Gammonny 🤣 Those things are actually useful if you want (are allowed?) to travel into Europe, means you don't have to get a separate sticker. I don't know if you've still got the car, but it's worth watching Harry's Garage videos on the L322. He swaps the 19-inch wheels for 20-inch, and then fits the all-season tyres from the current series Range Rover. Those can even get you through snow (although possibly not a 120cm snow storm).
You do still need a sticker if it says ‘GB’ on the plate, which these ones did. Also if you go to Spain you need a sticker no matter what now. Isn’t Brexit fun!
Swapping to a bigger rim is worse for off road applications. Reducing the rim size and increasing the size of the tire, offers greater surface area when tyre pressure is lowered off road.
Keep the faith, they're great. Might be worth a look at your brake calipers etc. if you aren't getting much better mpg on a run. Mine's doing 26.2 over the 24k miles I've had it although a lot of that is on quite quick roads.
I forget how much cheaper these are to repair in GB compared to here in the states. Very few shops will touch these cars and the ones that do charge a ton for it. To replace an air spring here in Texas is about $1,500. When I owned a Disco 2, I had to call nearly 20 mechanics before I found one who would touch it and even then he said he can't promise he will repair it but he would look at it.
@@BuckleUpShow Very few in the part I am from. I'm sure the bigger cities have them, like Dallas, but I am a 7 hour drive from there. Texas is huge, mate. I'm a 3 hour drive at 75mph from the nearest city with over 200,000 people.
Who says RR,s are not reliable? That's nothing you have a good car there get the door handle light done if it bothers you that much ,its an easy repair. Things wear out on any car and have to be replaced.
I do plan on disassembling the door card to check the connections and maybe replace the LED. For anyone who says a Range Rover isn't reliable there is always someone who has never had any problems 😂
Engine choices in the L322 are generally stronger than the ones available in the L320 Sport. In that price range at the moment there will be a lot of choice of either - go for whichever you prefer the look of, but make sure it's got really good service history, above all else!
Due to the age of these now I'm finding it hard to get a good d3, d4 or l322 here in Canada. A lot of tat as you might say. The later 5.0 and scv6 petrol have timing chain tensioner issues etc.. + extended oil change intervals not conducive to long engine life. 4.4 v8 the best but the newest is 14yrs old now.

@BuckleUpShow yeah I've looked at those type of pick ups including the ford ranger. But they all seem to be underpowered. Our trailer is 9 meters long and we have 2 cars on the back. So I worry about a smaller engine pulling that weight constantly. I'd be much happier with a bigger power output like RR v8 diesel because its not under any stress at all even at full capacity. You also find better economy because your not braying the life out if it.

If you can stretch, go for an L405. There were some marginal upgrades to the interior and the infotainment is better. Running costs should also be slightly lower as the later model is more efficient. Used prices of 405s have also come down in the last 12 months making them more attainable.

The original purchase price of the car when new will have been somewhere north of £75k. With the optional extras this particular car had, we'd guess somewhere in the region of £80k new.
There is also a full review of this car on the channel - th-cam.com/video/IjUGOw-ZMsw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JKaNKee1j11Pa9z6
@@BuckleUpShowjust watched that one as well. Another cool vid. Regarding purchase price I was referring to the used purchase price that was paid for this beauty. I can’t decide between L322 and L405. Love my music so want the ability to Bluetooth audio stream.
If you can stretch, go for an L405. There were some marginal upgrades to the interior and the infotainment is better. Running costs should also be slightly lower as the later model is more efficient. Used prices of 405s have also come down in the last 12 months making them more attainable.
Nice Rangie. FWIW the badging is not original or correct from factory, Spacing is off and look a bit smooshed. Doesn't look bad, just not proper.
Thank you! Which badging are you referring to, good sir?
@@BuckleUpShow Bonnet. Boot looks to be good.
It may just be the perspective of some of the shots in the video - we've checked the badging in person and all looks okay 😁
@@BuckleUpShow all good matey. I just watched your video with your mate and his D3. His bonnet badging is waaaaaaaaaay off too.
Land Rover. But all good no worries.
The plates are for driving abroad 🤦♂️
Plates with GB on them are now out of date, so you would still need a UK sticker alongside the jingoistic plates. I much preferred when they had a lovely halo of EU stars on them
So our nations flag is “a bit gammony” is it?…by that measure, isn’t the whole car one big haunch of gammon?
Slapping it on the back of a car is gammony behaviour
This and a Murcielago are my dream cars
Good choices but you’ll probably need a gazillion pounds to run them both
Check battery condition. It’s should last way longer than a week. The 4.4 tdv8 needs an AGM 019.
It was an incredibly cold week which probably didn't help - I suspect that the battery is due a replacement though 🙄
@@BuckleUpShow There is a great DIY guide on the Wiki page of the Full Fat forum. It’s not straightforward on the 4.4 tdv8. ECU has to be moved aside and then the BMS reset via a plug in once new one fitted
Excellent to know, thanks Rob! 😁😁
@@BuckleUpShow Happy to help. Had mine a few years now so have absorbed a lot of information that I’m happy to pass on. Happy to chat more
I came for the Range Rover. Was mesmerized by the pants 🙌. Brilliant
😅😅😅
There old knackers now loved mine at the time
They're absolutely wonderful cars ☺️
Stop complaining you sound like a old house wife! You know what you bought and the expenses it comes along with!
We're helping other people make informed decisions
Good video mate I am looking for one.
Go for it! Worth spending a bit of time searching for the right one, and go for condition and service history over mileage.
Love the top 😮
My jumper? Good news, you can find one on the buckle up store
Hi, I'm not from the UK, but why wouldn't you want the GB flag on? Some polical issue over there maybe?
It's just very small-world and Brexit-y, two things I do not want to be perceived as.
Managed 37.5mpg in my 4.4tdv8
I am impressed - was it just a steady drive on a motorway/A-Road at about 50mph?
Omg that cost you nothing! Imagine how much you’d have lost in depreciation value if you’d bought a new car of the same value. Not that you’d have found a new car for the price you paid!😂Nice legs btw.
It's certainly better value buying the car at the bottom of it's depreciation curve!
@@BuckleUpShow yes you timed it perfectly on that front. More or less when I sold mine!🤦♂️
Negative feedback from a proud gammon.
What exactly are you proud of?
It is too expensive if you need to pay more what is in the fuel tank.
Pay more than what is in the fuel tank for what?
Why make a point of our flag being gammony?
To annoy gammons like you 😘
@@BuckleUpShow gammons like me, that buy new Range Rovers. So silly little boys like you can buy old ones, think it’s time you went for another jab. Keep up with the narrative.
If it wasn’t embarrassing enough that you’re so easily offended by a silly little boy making a silly little comment, you’re also a proud anti-vaxxer 🤣
Silly little boys like us get lent new cars for free too, so we don’t even have to buy them. What lucky silly little boys we are!
@@BuckleUpShow yes, which just goes to show that you’re just a brainwashed halfwit. I watch L322 videos on here, as I still believe that they were the last true Range Rover made. We still run a couple, even though we have a new one. The following these cars have in great, all by like minded people. You just made yourself look a right tit, by saying that in the video.
Oh dear, you’re doubling down 😬
I thought you were just saying that silly little boys bought these and that was somehow an attempt at an insult?
You heard it here first folks - all L322 owners want to shag the flag and are scared of needles 😂
No tow bar?God help you 🤣🤣🤣
I do have a tow bar, it is detachable.
I loved the review, but the presentation style makes you sound so fed up with it. There were too many pauses during the presentation. Trying to be a Top Gear presenter when you really don't need to be. For the age of the car it's beautiful, I'd remove the side steps, they don't look tidy. Thank you though for a real world review 😊
Thanks for the feedback, but never heard of Top Gear, so not sure what I’m doing wrong!
Dated, tacky, and now Chavy
Range Rover 😆
It's not a Range Rover Sport - now that would be uncouth.
out of date money pit
We can agree on the money pit bit!
@@BuckleUpShownicely replied.
Can you not sell the private plates? Some “person” would probably give you £500 for those
Thats a reasonable plate imo, he,s mad.
While I wouldn't buy a private plate for myself, I will be leaving this one on the car as it does tie in to the car's spec and looks quite timeless. Even though I don't particularly like private plates, I will confess that an L322 looks good with one on!
I didn't say the plate wasn't reasonable, it's just I wouldn't buy one myself 😊
Get rid of those awful tatty side steps mate , will make a huge difference. I love my L320 2010 RRS SC and it does have a private plate lol 😏👍🏼. I will never be without a Rangie , such great cars. Look after them properly and they will be fine. The best advice I can give people who ask me what’s it like run I always say if you think you can run a Rangie on a shoestring go look for a Toyota Camry.
Short King problems, side steps are a necessity
$288 pounds! your kidding me! your having a laugh.......I'm in Australia and the same job is over $1000 AUD a side plus labour So your looking at 650+ GBP a side......are your parts and labour just cheap in the UK? A nut and bolt for a Range Rover in Australia is $50!...........I personally have spent over $22000 AUD on my L320 in the past 6 years.....Rejoice my friend at the truly staggeringly low cost of repairs where you live. Come live here in the great southern land and feel the pain and cost of Range Rover ownership, you shall cry often and have to take out a second mortgage on your house. And that's not just early models even the later models are the same. 2017 L494 out of warranty costs a fortune to repair..........Don't worry, be UK happy and remember your driving the best model RR ever built. The MK3 L322.....Cheers from the land down under, where woman glow and men plunder, can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder!
We may have bad weather and bad food but at least we get cheap land rover parts 😅
I replaced both front shocks and air bags for £330.
Used cars on good-looking but way way too expensive to run it should be painless every video is very very upsetting
If you're looking for a car that's pennies to run we recommend a used Toyota Yaris
Why has this chap sprayed on his pants?
Fashion, darling x
Do you want to sell it yet? 👀 😅
It may have sold some months ago 👀
six months Toyota ownership,,,,,,,,,,only fuel costs.
Wow, means you can save up to buy a soul to put in the car I guess?
Must have been lucky then. Endless trouble with our hiluxs and the landcruisers rust like a tesco bbq. Most overrated vehicles on the road. Give me an L322 any day
What a silly comment about gammony or something. You should be proud to be British young man. Let me guess you voted for corbyn? Unsubscribed now
Bit of a snowflake move tbh, running away when someone says something you don't like
@@BuckleUpShow
Not really when you make a derogatory racial slur comment about a union jack which many British are proud of.
Congratulations that was nearly a coherent sentence.
@@BuckleUpShow ha ha you’re brutal. But also correct 😂
I agree. It wouldn't be acceptable to use derogatory racial slurs for anyone else.
For me, it destroyed the tone of what was otherwise a great review.
Some people suit range rovers. Some people don’t. You…..
