Meet Sierra and her traveling companion Snow! Picking a fully converted 2017 Dodge Promaster 2500 as her van of choice, allowed Sierra to transition from her apartment in Seattle to her van full time with ease. The beautiful wood work and amazing storage throughout the van is something to be seen. The giant windows provide so much light and openness in the van. Being new to van life and also a solo female traveler she provides insight into how to stay safe while still adventuring. One of the best parts of the tour is seeing how happy Sierra and Snow are living tiny! Congrats

We are in our sixties and we have met a lady of similar age who travels with her two dogs. Whenever she stops she puts out two chairs and a pair of heavy man hiking boots and a mans jacket at the door. She has never had problems. Good luck with your travels and stay safe. Love from Australia 🇦🇺

Just turned 58 years young. Sold my home in March of this year and I fly to Montana to pick up my van in 4 days. I'll drive it back to Georgia where I'll hang for the winter before taking off permanently in the spring! Super excited!

I guess it will sound weird but I’m glad I wont be the only one with no idea where I’m going ! Selling the house closing in July and I’ll be homeless but for the van I plan to buy and my teardrop trailer I’ll be pulling ( me and my dog Luke :-) )

Ha! First time seeing someone using those cool map knobs. I bought some to use on my cigar-box guitars(of all things) and definitely plan on using them when I build out my van as well.

I love bus and van life but my biggest fear would be the vehicle breaking down and what happens to get it to a shop and what do you do for a place to sleep while it gets worked on. My dream is a tiny home some day.

I have a solar shower but I also have a hot-water-on-demand option that can hook to my propane tank and any source of water. It’s honestly too bulky and time consuming so I use the solar shower for now. 😊
Very cool. I think it's awesome what you're doing. Get out there and live, there's so much hidden beauty in our country, and every state is special in it's own unique way. Maybe since you'll be on the road, and winter is nearing, if you don't have already, i would say get some snow chains, just incase. And maybe at the beginning of the year- take a picture every morning 🌄(sunrise) and every night 🌙(sunset) and after a year, make a calendar 📅 of your travels and sell it online to help fund your adventures 😀. Enjoy your new found passion. I miss traveling, I've scene so many breathtaking sights, you'll never have a boring day. I know lot's of cool places, if you ever need any ideas on camp site's that aren't your typical Sam's Club camp grounds, give me a shout, i can email you a ton of neat places. Cheers.
I love the idea for a calendar. It's something people living anywhere could do (even with ordinary objects). I bet a lot of people don't think of snow chains (not used to being where it's helpful or required).

That was rly smart to make the top part of the counter at a slant for the chair to be able to lean back!!

Great van with an amazing amount of storage. Love the woodwork too. And Snow :) But no toilet? I could live without a shower but not a toilet.
I have a portable Thetford toiled.
U can replace the water pump for a Demand water pump.. U can leave it on and it will run just when u open the faucet
Mine is a demand pump but it primes so you can get some water without having the power on. The switch is there just for power saving.

The van is GORGEOUS. However, I feel I missed something-or maybe the owner doesn’t need a toilet and shower? I can imagine not needing either if I used a van for day trips. But to live in a van full time, I’d want bathroom facilities.
I thought there was a toilet under a cabinet but she didn't mention it.

@@dangell8984 yeah I saw that. For me, a shower or place to shower is important. I have a friend who has needle punched holes in a bucket and timed it. It takes three minutes. That’s how she does it.

I’m not sure where the builder got the wire storage but I’ve seen tons of things like this at regular retailers, or even in Ikea.

Again.. Shower? I saw your cassette toilet. But how are you self reliant if you have to drive somewhere and rely on someone else for a shower? I think this is why I settled in a small RV. It sort of looks like a camper, but it isn't. Bigger and has a bathroom and shower.

Cons.. no shower.. no toilet.. no washer dryer.. meaning you are going to truck stops or gyms using the nasty facilities Nd lau dry mats.

Not everyone has nasty facilities. You shouldn't assume. I don't live in a van and let me tell you the laundromat is cleaner than my neighbor's (both the bathroom and the washing machine). They actually clean. Most people don't clean their washers/dryers/bathrooms very often if ever. It's why I hate using other people's (individuals I know) bathrooms (I've seen how dirty they are).
