Honestly your a stud man! Really appreciate you doing this video. Water heater just went out a few days ago and because of this I was able to get it replaced pretty quickly.
Thanks for the video. Curious,l, what are the symptoms of bad burners? They seem like a pretty straightforward part that simply let gas through. I can see a thermocouple going bad but not sure about the burner itself. What's a typical lifetime of the burner?
Sometimes the burners can get cracks in the screen the valve will flash an error code indicating the burner needs to be replaced lifespan depends on usage maintenance
@@Victoryhomeservices209 thank you. I went to my garage and hear loud thumping and crackling sounds directly near the burner area. Few min later heater shuts off and the valve body then puts out 7 blinks which indicates valve failure when i try to turn it on. Don't know if burner or valve is what I need to replace. Any thoughts? Thanks
I am here to see the solution of burner replacement? In my case, there is flashing light on the gas valve, 6 flashes = burner issue. I will check it out tomorrow at a rental.
Did you get a response to this or figure it out? I have the same question and am about to replace mine. Hoping to avoid replacing the gas valve unless necessary.
Hi, I was working on a John Wood water heater. I took out the burner assembly but noticed there was no bracket or slot holding down the assembly. Is this normal or it's missing? The whole assembly was held just with 2 screws at the front. Thanks.
Yeah it’s pretty normal. A lot of water heaters. Don’t have a bracket that holds the burner in like the A.O. Smith tank. I was working on it only had two screws. Thanks for watching.
Great video. Glad to see you take the time to check for gas leaks before you leave.

@@jcamellion I would replace the burner and the valve just to be safe, but most likely it’s the valve

I have a question when replacing a bad burner do you always have to replace the gas valve too when replacing the bad burner? Thank you!
