I'm new to your channel, and have been binging on your videos! it was nice to hear the catalysts that trigged this lifestyle. Less is certainly more, and family, friendships and the memories is all we can take with us. God bless you all!
The video was such an inspiration, not just for travelling but the way you appreciate life and know what’s really important. You’ve all touched a lot of lives for the better! Q&A is a great idea! Loved it! The 2 Jeeps and Lando in the intro is amazing 🐕💕 Do you ever worry about Lando when he runs far ahead and what he may encounter? He sure is having the best dog’s life ever!
Thank you for your comment. We’re so glad you enjoyed the Q&A. In some areas we have to be very careful that Lando doesn’t get too far ahead because of mountain lions and other wildlife. He is good at staying close so we can keep an eye on him 👍🏻
Love the new moving logo. Great Q&A. We have told you guys before... We have learned and gained so much from you. We have been planning our full time overlanding journey and we are getting close. Thank you for the inspiration!!!
Crushed to hear that your house was ransacked, horrible, so sorry to hear that happened to such amazing people. I can't tell you how much I admire you and your family for doing this and sharing with the world! I'm so happy I stumbled upon your channel and as an enthusiast I hope to one day meet you on the road. Continue to move safely and keep this amazing channel going.
As for damp tents where you worry about mildew... carry a jug of white vinegar and wipe them down when you can.... even inside. With a decent breeze the vinegar odor disappears quickly but it will kill mildew and you don't want chlorine bleach for several reasons: the environment, it can actually rot some fabrics, and you don't want to breathe it.
Caroline, I really liked your words of wisdom, how true they are. It’s why I like your family’s channel, not just for the content, but your positive perspectives.
Yes, Epic is correct. Glad you guys, as a family figured this out. I worked with a older gentleman that had taken time early in his life to do kinda what you are doing. When his kids finally moved in he started working full time as an electrician. He reversed retirement/work. Unfortunately after about 10 years he got an aggressive brain cancer and passed away. He was blessed that he had lived the way he did. Keep up with the great content. Wishing you peace, health and safe travels.
I always love hearing the answers to these questions. One thing that stands out is how long you have been doing this. It's amazing to see all the adventures you've had and what you have waiting for you in the future. Your videos have been entertaining and educational. I look forward to see what you will be doing in the near future.
You guys are giving your kids a millions memories to cherish which no money can buy IMHO. Thanks for hundres of memories for your fans like us too.. God speed to all your future adventure trips ! ❤️ Love from India. When are you tripping here?. Iam sure my country can give of tonnes of new amazing experiences too..
I just wanted to say because of your family I have been able to cope with the loss of my father this month on November15. Your travels have brought my wife and I so much joy, thank you so much for sharing your family with all of us. Keep safe and have a blessed holiday season.
So sorry for your loss. Sounds like your father was a wonderful man and deeply loved by you all. We are so glad that our videos could bring you some comfort during this difficult time. Hugs from our family to you and yours. 🤗 ❤️
You guys a true inspiration for those who want to breath some life out there in the wilderness and live the life to the fullest. Please continue the superb work and keep us motivated! Love!
Every one of us have the same thing in common and this is TIME is our MOST VALUABLE asset. I soo wish more people understood this. I wish my employer understood this when I asked for vacation. 2 weeks of vacation time nothing compared to the whole year I work.
Our family of 4 just completed our first short trip, so your video was very timely. Also reassuring to know we don’t need “all the equipment” right off the bat as we are slowly equipping our JKU. Great video and so helpful! My 5 and 7 year old love watching your videos with us.
Hi there. Thanks for leaving a comment. We always love hearing from families who are out exploring together. Hope you guys have a lot of fun and build some great memories together as a family. Greetings from our family to yours. Have a wonderful day.
Very nice you can do it with the whole family. I myself do not like tent camping, never did, own a camper van, and even than, still prefer after 1-2 mths to head for home with brick walls, real bed, large screen tv, hot tub, the works. Have fun, and I enjoy your videos and the scenery.
Really appreciate you sharing your views, thank you. BTW, we live on Vancouver Island and must agree with you in regards to its beauty. Happy and safe travels.....
Thank you for sharing with us! I always thought you were an amazing family and you certainly confirmed it with this video. You are not only a family but are also best friends who comprise a top notch team. Your videos are so enjoyable to watch because of the attributes you all possess. I was very fortunate growing up in a military family and traveling with Dad to so many different places and countries. I wanted that experience for myself after graduation and as a military man, my job took me almost around the world and sharing incredible experiences with other families, both American and foreign. Travel is so educational...just need to open your eyes, listen and allow yourself to soak in everything; weed out the negatives if you wish. Make them a lesson learned. The one question I have is that your wonderful "kids" are all super intelligent and do they have career aspirations. My kids are all grown and one of my twin sons is retired. They all left home to become successful in what they aspired to do or become.
Epic Family Travel has shared their remarkable journeys across many countries and continents which allow us to travel along side with you through your channel. Here from Thailand, I can see the dependable trip leader, a solid mother, and the energetic adorable dog. Those happy faces, working side by side in wonderful pure nature sites, especially in the breathtaking scene of snow, truly inspired many others. Hope your caravan of Jeep can come visit my beautiful country, Thailand, soon. Thank you for sharing and God bless you and your family. --
I so enjoy following your family’s journey. My husband and I both have Jeep’s and we have always enjoyed camping as much as possible. We are inspired by you. We are wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas!
great episode with lots of valuable information for fellow overlanders and new overlanders looking for things to consider and plan for. thanks a ton for all you do!
We’ve really enjoyed using Google Fi for our mobile WiFi solution, as it includes free international data roaming. While it caps at 22GB/month before throttling, we simply use multiple SIM cards based on our needs. We can also pause or cancel the service without penalties.
Nice to know about your background and all that, that had made you into travelers... You people are great inspiration, spawning deep yearning for travel in thousands of hearts. Keep traveling, there's good waiting to happen in every road bend ahead... Love and regards
Thank you as always for taking us along. I know you have done some overseas travels, but if you get a chance look up Grizzly and Bears channel as they can give some great tips on shipping and overlanding in Asia. I don’t know if you’ve tried it already, but taking the Alaskan ferry either to or from Bellingham WA is a blast, and I think the kids would really enjoy the camaraderie of camping on the deck. Cheers
Bless your family! Be safe on the road. Have fun! Explore. Btw, we saw you at Grand Canyon Parashant, AZ the other day as well as Overland Bound. Just so nice!
Nice to see that you survived the storms of the west coast of "The Rock" Vancouver Island.. We get some pretty interesting storms on this side of Canada.. (haha).. at least we dont get a lot of stuff you have to shovel ;) but 100+ kph winds and rain that falls sideways can be a bit much at times.. eh..
Peace be upon you legendary family. I enjoy your travels and I subscribed to you on TH-cam and I follow all your videos. I also love traveling and off-road, and I have a 1978 6-cylinder Jeep, and I rebuilt and strengthened it. I am Behrooz from Iran.
I learned a lot from your experiences about the nomadic way of life. Minimalism is good for earth eventhough surroundings rapiddly changing during Covid19. Your positive reations are touching. Cooperating with people is just sophisticated and productive. Therefore Technology is the second thing. GOOD LUCK FOR YOUR JOURNEY.
Great video, very informative and it is great to learn about your family and the decisions you have made. I have really enjoyed your journey and look forward to your new uploads
Great and informative Q & A. Loved how each family member answered and it was in different settings. Next Q & A: not to be too personal or gross, but can you explain how you do baths and bathroom needs while overlanding (both in cold climates like Vancouver Island or Newfoundland and hot ones like Mexican desert). I think I remember a metal fold up toilet seat but do you put it in something for privacy? Also would love to have 2-3 meals on a video, with recipe linked below. I realize Carol doesn't cook by meansurements but would like to see her and Caroline prepare the 4 favorite meals mentioned in this video. Love the new animated logo with Lando. Epic!
Hey there. Glad you enjoyed this video. Sure we can address those topics on another Q&A. That’s a good idea to show cooking the three favourite meals. Will try to also include recipes in the notes. Have a great day.
That last question where you mentioned one of the kids was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes hits home I also was diagnosed with type 1 a few years ago in the same way with the same symptoms. I was wondering how difficult it is for him traveling with the diabetes. I really want to start a long journey traveling around the US but the thought of always needing supplies is always in the back of my mind. Great video guys!
Awesome family you got there sir just watch most of youre vlog esp.when you travel both of you youre kids not around ,ive been very sad coz its hard to be away from you're kids specially holiday season..love how you manage you're family bonding ..keep safe always and God bless you always sir...
Love your videos and story, what an amazing family adventure! Any consideration to include an overland trailer for additional space, kitchen setup and tent? Keep up the great work!
not sure if you're still on the island, but cape scott park is a nice visit. it's a bit of a hike into san joseph bay but it's really worth it on a sunny day. not sure why, but it just struck me as being a really powerful place.

hello, i found your channel through "A story till now" and "casey250". looking forward to binge watching your vids. great content. my wife and i, being avid jeepers, are getting into more of the overlanding "scene". looking to learn a lot from yalls channel. cheers and happy travels.
Food is a huge expense! When at home, I shopped 4 stores for sales! Got to be good friends with a butcher at a store! Monday AM, my 1st stop. He was marking down everything from Cornish Hens to full loins of Rib Eyes. I got my meat and froze that day, as instructed! We always had the best food, because of a big freezer! On the road, you are at the mercy of where you’re at!
Who knew? Apparently, you should have planned end of November and first week of December in southern Alberta. Warm and dry here. The tents and all your gear would certainly dry out with the wind and very low humidity. Highs have been above freezing for at least a week, and are predicted to stay there for at least the foreseeable future. When winter does decide to arrive, run away....
Carol is an outstanding outdoor and campfire cook....recipes should form part of the adventure series
Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions and appreciate you sharing your adventure with us.
Caroline is mature beyond her age and is a great content developer and writer/spokesperson...Kudos to you ...great work...keep it up
Thank you 🙏🏻
I'm new to your channel, and have been binging on your videos! it was nice to hear the catalysts that trigged this lifestyle. Less is certainly more, and family, friendships and the memories is all we can take with us. God bless you all!
I’ve never watched a Q and A video from start to finish but this one was so interesting! Banger of a video!
Awesome! Thank you for watching we are so glad you enjoyed the video.
Couldn't agree more.
Just go!!! we are enjoying the adventure with you guys!!!!
The video was such an inspiration, not just for travelling but the way you appreciate life and know what’s really important. You’ve all touched a lot of lives for the better! Q&A is a great idea! Loved it!

Caroline’s answer to the $ on the road question was spot on! Very mature and wise in my opinion.
Love the new moving logo. Great Q&A. We have told you guys before... We have learned and gained so much from you. We have been planning our full time overlanding journey and we are getting close. Thank you for the inspiration!!!
Hey Tsar Trail. Hope you guys can make the full time move in 2021. Have you picked out a trailer?
Crushed to hear that your house was ransacked, horrible, so sorry to hear that happened to such amazing people. Epic family, I think your life has prepared the kids for any life goal they choose!!

Sad that he passed but happy he was able to use his time with his loved ones well. Have a wonderful day!
Awesome video. I recently read vagabonding and it’s encouraged me to get my personal belongings down even more than they already are.

Hi Richard. Thanks for following along on the journey for so long. We are glad you are enjoying our videos. 👍🏻
Enjoy your family. You never know when it could change. Time is all we really have. You guys have done well.
I love the new intro logo. Now you have to get the stickers made to put up all over Canada and the US.
It is so true that our time is limited, and so important that we choose how we spend that time. Thanks for sharing your times with us.
I would have bought the Lando patch for a friend who trains bird dogs, but his are the wire-haired pointers. It's a really cool patch.
You guys are giving your kids a millions memories to cherish which no money can buy IMHO. Thanks for hundres of memories for your fans like us too..
Love you’re adventure! Try using a battery powered leaf blower for the wet tents.
