They should allow 16:9 to be curved too. There's a reason why imax got taller and not wider. The goal is to cover the fov fully, going ultrawide only does that horizontally but the vertical fov is still missing.

Can you make the ultrawide monitor super big and get up and walk around the it? A few months ago, right after the initial AVP released, people were making their windows as big as a wall and walking around the edge of those windows. If you have a tapemeasure, how many feet/inches, tall and wide, is the ultrawide monitor?
Yes you can do that although not super practical. Also the “size” if the monitor doesn’t really matter you can put it against some wall far away from you and make it probably 20x8’ or you can put it right in front of you and make it like a 34” screen. I’ve found it most comfortable when it looks to be maybe 4 feet away and seems to be about 6 feet wide.
I can’t help but think that will eventually come. I look forward to it. I work in Maya a lot, and I would LOVE a way to model “in 3D” using Maya specifically.
Apparently that's a limitation of the MacBook pro. You can only have one external display. They just upgraded that in the latest MacBook pro to 3 external displays. We'll see if the Vision Pro will take advantage of that.
@@CESmith That's a limitation for displays over the inbuilt thunderbolt port, you can connect virtually as many as you want over AirPlay (the tech behind Mac Virtual Display on Vision Pro)

But it’s good in a way since it supports cable connection for stable use. Despite loving my Quest 3, this Vision Pro feature makes me a little inclined to consider it on a next generation (if any!)
I have couple of questions :) Is it possible to work this way for long time, 3-5 hours? Hz of the screen doesn't lag? Is it comfortable to use ultrawide with Vision Pro FOV?
I've noticed no lag, the only thing that stops me from using this for a very long period is the comfort of the headset on my face. The screen itself looks great and is very usable. The FOV is not a limiting factor for me.

Stuff like this as well as how VisionOS 2.0 took up less time at WWDC than the iPad's calculator really drives home the story that came out a few months before the Vision Pro was unveiled, that this was a passion project pushed by Tim to "secure his legacy" and NOT something Apple's devs or hardware people see as a viable long term product; at least not in it's current form.
