I had an LG 5K monitor go bad after 13 months and could find no one able or willing to fix it. I learned that TVs can be repaired but its not so certain for monitors. You might want to keep this in mind when choosing what to buy, Dell quickly replaced a monitor under warranty for me. I feel pretty good about their service. I use 6 of their monitors on four desks and am very happy with them.
This is most time efficient review of monitors for the Mac Mini I have ever seen. I had to watch it to end. For the volume of information is impressive. I really like the spread reviews of Yes, Maybe, and No. The wide coverage of Monitors is excellent. I wish other reviews had this high level of data rate. I will watch the review several times as it pure pleasure to experience this excellent and well crafted review.
I have the Dell Ultrafine 2723QE. It’s a good 4k panel, but what makes it a great option is the hub: the onboard ethernet and USB 3.2 gen 2 (10Gbps) ports make it a one cable solution for my MacBook. I have a 2TB SSD velcro-ed on the back of it, which I use for Time Machine backups…
Just found your channel and subbed....not sure if you were aware at time of filming but the Studio Display just went on sale for 1299 and with height and tilt 1599. Since Apple rarely has a sale this size do you think they have a new monitor to unveil?
I have a question I don't know if you can answer. Will the M4 ProMac Mini be able to use my 2017 27" 5K iMac as a monitor, and if so specifically how. Thanks and great quality and inclusions/limitations for ea monitor, it was perfect timing. You earned yourself a sub, thanks.
I recommend the monitor: Dell UltraSharp 27 Thunderbolt™ Hub Monitor - U2724DE It is the perfect monitor in terms of quality and price, it has a black IPS panel, 120Hz and thundebolt 4 for only 500 dollars!
I an get the Samsung 5k S9 for £700 - £50 cheaper than the Asus Proart 5k. Which is best for mac at this price? What do you mean by integration with mac OS - just using the brightness/volume keys to change the monitor volume or brightness? It says it has airplay too. Don't 4k monitors have scaling issues? What happens when you use a 5k monitor that doesn't conform to macs aspect ratio (like wide / ultrawide)?
@@philfyphil ‘Inaccurate’ colors don’t cause eye strain and I have it set to the 1080p retina setting so no eye strain there either. Believe it or not, most people aren’t doing high end production work and don’t need a perfect color accuracy.
depends on your use case, the smallest 4k TV at 43 in is cheaper but TVs are made differently from monitors. I had 1 before, switched to a monitor, a world of difference. TVs are too bright and meant to be viewed from a distance, monitors from less than 18in!
Apple Pro Display XDR is so overhyped, it's basically the same as using a TV at home. Why pay more for a monitor when any old screen will connect to a Mac mini anyway?
the latest Macmini M4 Pro is actually as powerful as the Mac Studio M1, yes spending $500 on a monitor is actually worth it because you will be staring at it all day.
If Apple monitors are so great, why do they need color correction out of the box? Are these things really as inconsistent as they say, or is it just about the aesthetics?
Apple XDR Display is trash! It doesn’t even align with Windows aesthetics, so it’s basically useless to anyone who’s remotely tech-savvy. Who’s still using a Mac mini in 2025 anyway, only hipsters and millennials clinging to the past.
^ Says a non-creative person. The mini runs circle around EVERY non mac system unless you like gaming and you don't look like a gaming geek. Real creators use a mac so stop kidding yourself.

Samsung S9 is easily a yes at $720 (not the original $1599). If you do any photo editing, the color accuracy is spot on.

People really think a monitor will make them more creative when it's really just about logging into facebook lol.

Thank you for informing us beneficially. Which 23-24 inch monitor do you recommend for Mac mini m4?
There are no scaling ussues in the dell 6k
best monitor for mac mini is very nice thanks for sharing
Thoughts on a 57' Samsung G9 Neo on a productivity standpoint?

Benq 5k is almost here.
Tb4 not better than thunderbolt 3 as far as monitors go
Tb5 is where its at.
How about the ASUS ProArt PA27JCV?
Very good review. Sadly no uk link. Cannot find the model in uk Amazon eg lg 5k.
Interesting but what about the ASUS ProArt PA27JCV?

A lot of commenters here who know nothing of a pro’s needs. These commenters would be happy with a green screen.
Wow wonderful tv

Matte is like apple matte nano stop reflection by coating the screen you do lose some clarity.
you know what? get a cheap monitor and save for something actually useful. tired of everyone acting like you need the latest tech for everything.
Well, it is smart to get a monitor that fits your needs or employee needs. The needs of a gamer are different than a UX/UI designer.
My ‘monitor’ is a 43” TCL 4K TV that I spent $200 on at Costco.
Ya but if you need color accurate image, you can't just buy anything.
Yeah, and carry on straining your eyes staring at something with inaccurate washed out colours and rubbish contrast. Great idea.

What no 8k?
NO: Samsung S9 / Maybe: Samsung M8 🤨

Just use TV.

Nice
What is the conclusion of this Vid ? 😅
Buying monitors for creativity is laughable when most people just use them for Netflix. stop kidding yourselves.
Just tell me which one is best. I don’t need to know about which ones I’m not going to buy
Monitors are overrated
Yeah, so is water and oxygen. Totally over-rated.
Mac mini users should just use a typewriter, modern tech is clearly too much for y’all to handle.
Apple Pro Display XDR is so overhyped, it's basically the same as using a TV at home. Why pay more for a monitor when any old screen will connect to a Mac mini anyway?
"Apple Pro Display XDR is so overhyped, it's basically the same as using a TV at home."
mac mini with a 5k monitor is like putting premium fuel in a bicycle. are people just trying to look tech-savvy without knowing anything?
You sound extremely tech-savvy yourself, though I guess you’ve ignored all the M4 mini reviews, but keep telling yourself how smart you are. 😢
the latest Macmini M4 Pro is actually as powerful as the Mac Studio M1, yes spending $500 on a monitor is actually worth it because you will be staring at it all day.
if you are buying the $599 Mac mini, the $200 Dell 721QS is an affordable match.
Keh?
Why would anyone spend thousands on a monitor when you can just max out your phone's brightness and call it a day?
honestly who needs a fancy monitor for a mac mini? any cheap one will do the same job, you're just paying extra to brag about it on reddit.
If Apple monitors are so great, why do they need color correction out of the box? Are these things really as inconsistent as they say, or is it just about the aesthetics?
Seriously, who cares about color accuracy? It's not like you'll notice the difference when browsing Facebook.
