      I seriously rode one today, my brother bought exactly this one.
      Personally I was disappointed in the power, these things are gutless. He paid 38k for it, I mean it's a steel frame with 2 wheels and a weak motor. He's a huge Harley fan and that's all he cared about, me I like real power and paying less for it.
      I ride a bike that has 132 hp at the wheel and doesn't break down...ever.
      It is what it is, the important thing is my brother is stoked we get to ride now and that's all that matters.

    Thanks for sharing on your opinion on the 2022 Road Glide ST. Just purchased this model. It was a hard choice. Originally I was looking at the FatBoy. But after reading so many reviews. I wanted more out of a bike. Granted it is my first bike and I am pleased on its performance. I would have to change the seat since the stock one is uncomfortable and I would also need to change the turn signals to LEDs as well. Another thing I would need to add is the crash bars for the saddle bags. I am glad there are accessories out there for me to add to my bike. Thanks for sharing your video...

    Hey DV, I know I’m late…I have a 21 Challenger Dark Horse. My bike was $30 out the door so price point for what you get IMO is a no brainer. Stock: fox suspension, inverted front forks, all LED lights, 122hp, and the list goes on. As far as aftermarket many of the brands that have aftermarket for Harley also make for Indian. There is aftermarket for for speakers, suspension, bars, floorboards bags, engine mods, headlights, wheels, windshields, levers, fairings, mirrors, trunks, and the list goes on…. In addition to that there are many custom shops like Lloyd’s and Carey Heart to name a couple. There is a market out there, not to the level of Harley but it’s there.

    The Road Glide ST is a nice ride but I agree, should have come with a 131. If I’m going to build/change a bike to my liking, I would rather pay a base model price then go nuts with performance parts. Appreciate the look…

      Bought the '23 RGST, it checked all the boxes for my type of riding. Saying this should come with a 131 (or now, 135) is like saying the Camaro ZL1 should come with the 632 crate motor from the factory. Of course it should! But, it's not gonna happen. I do agree that they should have equipped it with the Ohlins suspension. Anyway, this is a Sport Touring bike, not a true Performance Bagger. Right now, you have to build the latter yourself. Hopefully this is just a stepping stone toward something more performance oriented direct from HD.

    Cool ride, Jack! As I said in one of our recent videos re: ST vs CVO, given that HD did not put the 131 in the ST, once you do then you’re almost at the CVO price, without the CVO extras.

    Road glide ST/algorithm......I just picked up a 22 RGS in Gunship Gray... I've ridden quads a hand full of times over 20 yrs ago and that's it. This is my first bike ever and I'm in love. I rode 700 miles in the 6 days I've had it. Got the suspension dialed in and dragged both boards taking corners this thing leans nicely. I'm also 6'3 290 so most people's first bikes wouldn't work well as a first for me.. I'm totally smitten with it and I feel like I should have been riding it all my life.

  • @Big2Wheeler
    @Big2Wheeler 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I couldn't agree with you more about the stage upgrade, shock upgrade, seat and turn signals for the price they're asking. I'd even say the windshield needs to be taller. I rode this same exact bike at my dealer last Saturday and it's a beast. But it's basically a standard Road Glide with a Boom Box GTS and blacked out engine option from the Special model, a CVO model engine and a few doo-dads like the front fender and rear brake light. Kind of a mix mash parts bike that somewhat comes together as a decent little hot rod. Not really what I'd classify as a "performance bagger". When I actually sat down to talk out the door price I was quoted $37,680! If you go by the HD website that bike should total $32,774 with RDRS, freight & surcharge. Plus they're advertising a 122% over NADA trade offer here, but wouldn't even give me a number on my '17 Limited without a commitment to buy before they'd even approach the manager. I believe they we're only hovering around $18K without actually saying it out loud though and I've got $35K into it. Seemed a bit over the top-high pressured, desperate, insulting and unpleasant from a dealer I've patronized for 20 years. Needless to say I'm sticking with my Limited. This is the temperature of the business world everywhere these days. If you want to play you're gonna pay right now!

    Solid thoughts and review man. The STs are killer bikes and glad the moco decided to listen to the customers and see what has been done to bikes. With the ST getting 117 motor, with room to grow with but think we should now see the 131 in the CVO. Could you image a solid full exhaust ( Rinehart or thunderheader are my favs) and maybe a cam what it would do to that motor. To me HD wants to keep making the money on P&A while giving us a bit more power and motor. Great stuff bud, thanks!!

    Im currently trying to decide if I want a new 2022 RGS or a new RGST. Since you currently own a special (aside from it having a 131) would you still choose a special or would you go with the ST, if you were in the market to buy right now? Id rather have the 117, im into the heavy breather style air cleaner…plus that would save me $550 if I was to buy one for a special, I like the bronze wheels and accents, I like the slimmer front fender, I like the tank decals over the normal bar and shield emblem, NOT a fan of the tail light. And with the ST id have to buy rear pegs and possibly the docking hardware if the wife wanted a back rest. With either model I would end up buying a seat. Im really torn. I dont do much 2 up riding but every now and then. Can you actually feel the difference of that 117 compared to a 114? For me, the motor would be 60% of me leaning towards the ST. Bigger is always better right lol

    I bought an Indian FTR-1200S. and what a horrible mistake. Brand new bike that kept breaking down. It was leaking engine coolant all over the place. The best part of the story is that it took me fighting with Polaris for 7 months to get all my money back. The 4th time I broke down after the dealer said that they fixed everything the bike had a total 185 miles on it. Don't make the same mistake that I did get the Harley!

    Honestly, the only big gripe for me is the suspension, it should be sort of embarrassing to Harley to put stock suspension so poor out. Indian challenger's suspension stock blows it out of the water. That being said, it's a beauty of a bike, I'm more for the standard bags, and it was worth my money, mine's on it's way on a truck :)

    If you ride on a 131 stage 4 currently, of course you won’t be impressed with the 117 engine. I think most people would be damn happy with the power of that 117. As far as making a stage 4 stock? No way Harley will ever do that. That’s like a $6K upgrade with labor! Can you imagine the price point on a bike like that? People already think Harley’s are over priced. Just my opinion.

      @@DeterminedVeteran I love Harley don’t get me wrong (I love all motorized vehicles) but they claim that the bikes are luxury motorcycles. They have a long way to go to get to that level. My road glide limited came with a pinched CB cable, while I may not use it ever, that’s not the level of quality I expect from a 30k luxury item. All out bikes are essentially parts bin bikes and I think people could order the basic optioned versions of what they want and spec it out for far less. Basically what you said. 😝
