That's what I said on another channel. More color options or blackout version of the ST. I'm definitely not feeling the dark bronze wheels and Turbine wheels look better to me
That RG ST is probably the most desirable touring model I’ve seen since I started paying attention to HD. It gets the details right, like standard shape bags, normal sized front wheel, the tasteful color accents and not blacking out everything, and leaving out the chrome. Add in the 117 and it’s a far better value than the Special. I still wish HD would make a Road Glide Standard with no chrome, one color, no radio, and keep it under $20k.
Can't wait to get the bike out. Winter in upstate NY sucks. Even if it gets warmer, the roads are covered in salt. The white dust of death for metal. Just waiting for clean road's. Dangme. Cool bikes, thank you for sharing
I like HD bike a lot. So, I went to visit a local HD dealership and they wanted to charge me a lot over MSRP. So, I eventually bought a 1/12 scale model and I have become a happy owner now ever since.
There are cams for Harley in the aftermarket that will give you the best of both worlds. Torque that comes on early and pulls hard all the way through. In that 117 that would definitely be the ticket. Great review Matt. Unfortunately I need a do all bike. It must tour comfortably yet, it has to be snappy and corner well. A Road Glide ultra with a good set of 13 inch rear shocks with a matching front suspension and a stage 2 with a quality aftermarket cam giving great torque down low yet pulls all the way through is my next bike. Thanks for all you do. I honestly think Harley is on its way back. Ride safe. 👍🇺🇸
Thanks for a great review. I was almost totally sold on one when these were announced and I saw pictures. I realize now that I would really be buying one based on aesthetics and after you talked about the revvy nature of the big engine, I'll just keep my 107. I love the lazy low revving nature of the Harley big twin and don't want to give it up. I also own several Japanese sport bikes so if I want to ride a fast high revving bike, I'll ride one of those.
Just picked up Roadglide ST in GG. Just a fun bike to ride. It's torquey and the bike just wants to go. Definitely feel the difference from my 2019 RGS.
Thanks guys for more perspective. I still like touring idea of me and the lady getting out. I'd switch out the seat, add docking system and pegs also stage 1. Would be a cross between performance bagger/touring. You've changed my mind of buying the ST!
Matt am planin on buying a lottery ticket , id appreciate the winning numbers ... I mean you been manifesting these st model for a while .... Glad Harley listened, stunning models
Picked up one this week in white sand pearl. Putting bars on it today. Ordered a color matched fairing spoiler that the CVo’s had a couple years back. Hate the air cleaner for sure. Still got lots of mods planned over the next year or two.
Great review man. I'm an old AF rider, started in 75. Got out of street riding Ducati's, to strictly club racing. Sold my Duc's and track kit because I started a business. Fast forward two years (4 months ago) my MUCH better half surprised me with a SG ST; and in all my years of riding, even though I've only had it for four months, I can easily say that I've never loved a bike, or a mechanical device as much as I love this thing. This is an amazing transition bike for retiring sportbike guys, easily. I've gotten used to how it all works, the feel of the engine, and two weeks ago, added Tab Performance 4.5 Zombie Sticks, and Got=damn this thing is a snarling savage, but loving to it daddy beast. Added a new seat, took off the elbow breather, put on a SCreaming Eagle, and it's got even a little more aggressive bite and crack on the low end of the band. I sound like a commercial, sorry. I'm also a "car guy"... this thing has kept me from my time there. That's never happened before. So, easy transition bike for sportbike guys. And maybe, a nice performance platform for the open minded HD OG's. I wanna say this too.... the bike culture around HD's.... SO MUCH BETTER than the Ducati/Italian V-twat crowd... Thank you all for being cool fuckers.

I’m guilty! I just got a 23 FLHXST- the 117 won me over. I said I would never take a Street Glide over my Ultra Limited, but this one fixed most everything that I disliked about both bikes in one package. Power Cam is on the way at the 1K service in 2 weeks!
Hi Matt, thank you for the awesome review. The Street Glide ST is my favorite, because of the combination of dynamic AND comfort. Greetings from N.Germany. Tommy
I just bought a 2022 Gunship Gray RG Limited. I have only put 100 miles on it So far I am impressed with the power and torque of the 114 engine the way it handled on curves and the smooth ride it gives. I have a 2010 Electra Glide Ultra Classic CVO with a 110 engine with stage two and there is no comparison to the two bikes. I love both but I think the RG wins the medal..
Nice. Glad you like it. Yea, the 2022 a lot of advantages over the 2010. You had the Rushmore project in 2014 that was a lot of significant upgrades. Plus the M8 is just a better motor.
Definitely a good base. You'll wind up changing out the bars, putting a 2 into 1 on it, and putting better suspension on it. So if you think the engine is powerful enough; you won't have to do as much to it.
I test rode all 3 at Daytona Bike Week, the RG ST, the SG ST and the Low Rider S (the ST wasn’t available yet). I already have a Ultra Limited and remove the tour pack regularly. So, I decided to get something completely different. 2 days after my return from Daytona, I purchased the Low Rider S.
Thanks for putting this together. Not too excited about the glide STs. I do think Harley should be commended for their work on the low rider ST and just shifting gears to give what their customers want.
Bronze package is sublime. These bikes and the whole Harley touring line are arguably the nicest looking of all motorcycles. Nice work gents. Ride safe and ride often. Peace
Great post, thanks for all the information packed into this video. I have a 21 Sport Glide and should've test rode more bikes like the Low Rider S and the Street Bob. Someone broke into my bags and now their useless, got LeatherPros and like them so much more which is the reason why I should've test rode other bikes and build my own... Which is what Im doing anyway.
Cool bikes, cool channel. Love the longer trips. I spent a couple of decades in the consumer electronics business and we would say HD is slicing the baloney too thin when it comes to models. Aka - they are crowding each other and possibly confusing the market. That matched with the aftermarket customization nature of the brand also adds to “slicing the baloney too thin”.
I was going to trade in my 2020 RG for and ST model. Until I found out it did not come with the Ohlin suspension. Although the ST models look great style wise, I would rather have the performance over the looks. Bigger engine......meh. If you have to up grade the engine to a 131 anyway, why not upgrade upgrade the Base model or the special. Plus extra for chrome? I will pass. But the Low Rider S is a better deal performance wise. Great review as always Matt...
Thats how I feel put some suspension on it before you call the bike ST its like the muscle bikes of that era fast in a straight line but the handling sucked
@@kevincraig8257 One of my big gripes about H-D is how they mind-f people into thinking they are doing something innovative, then fall short. Change out the cam in the 114, give me the Olin suspension with the inverted front forks, get rid of the floor boards, put mid controls on it, put 17"Wheels on it(So I can put Z rated tires on it!!), get rid of the Boombox GTS(Do not need that on a performance bike), 2 into 1 headers, get rid of the speed 115 mph limiter(Since the bike will be lighter, and has Z rated tires, they could take out the speed limiter) and put some performance handlebars. Now you have an entry level performance bagger. All they did with the ST was change the style, raised the bags, put longer shocks on it and put a CVO engine it it for 10K more than a base model. Well at least they tried. The bike looks good. and rides better with the taller shocks!!! But I could just spend $500 for a pair of taller shocks. Still love my H-D RG. I was just hoping for a different approach so I would by the ST...... Now the Low Rider ST? Home run for the price IMO.... For them to come out the the Pan America and the Sportster S, H-D has no excuse!!! Esepcially since they built the bike that won King Of the Baggers last year..... They know...

I do like the ST's. 👍 to HD for the attempt with them. Honestly if you're serious about a performance bagger build an Electra Glide is the best bang for your buck. The rear of the ST is an Electra Glide anyways. Between the MSRP bump and 5k + markup for parts youre gonna throw in the dumpster anyways. Take that 8 to 10k and put it into the aftermarket build and have a great base for a real ripper.
Thnx for ur info... so what upgrades did u guys recommend possibly doing for the street glide st to improve performance? Watched this once and things went fairly quickly...I’ll have to watch again
Mat/Andrew, Thanks for this review. I’ve watched several reviews about the Road Glide ST. Other reviewers claim that this bike has a stock torque cam. Is that true. Andrew says he would install a torque cam. You also say that it’s a good base for a performance bagger. Can you please me what you would do to this bike that would make it a performance bagger? I also appreciate what you guys say about the seat pushing you forward and the high flow intake hitting your leg. Great review guys!
Matt, great video as usual . Do you or could you have a video that explains the various suspensions { stock } especially when it comes to the glides .. base , special , limited and the ST.
Just had a demo day at my local HD dealer this week and I tried the Street Glide ST and oh my god, the fairing was incredibly bad. I've tried multiple different bikes with fairings from baggers to ADV bikes and they all have some amounts of buffeting, but this was the worst. The air coming over the fairing wasn't all that bad (I'm 176cm so about 5'9") but there was a ton of turbulent air pushing upwards from underneath the fairing, which made for an incredibly noisy and uncomfortable ride. Funnily enough, the next bike I tried was the Low Rider S (not the ST but the one with the small bikini fairing) and it was hands down much more comfortable and quiet on the freeway, apart from not having cruise control
I’d like the RG ST in destroyer Grey , but I’d want the 131 Kit right off the floor & the Screaming Eagle Ohlin’s rear shocks before I took delivery. Now you got a Performance Bagger!
As always a good video, I was thinking of buying a St now I know the facts that it would take some work to become a true performance bagger, Thanks. Asevo what are those shades you have on, I want a pair!
Great content! Unrelated but I’m shocked there hasn’t been more press on the low rider ST. Seems like a huge push for the touring bikes but I haven’t seen anything outside of the teaser video at launch and the couple shots Lance Coury posted on Instagram. Considering it’s scheduled to start shipping in just a couple of weeks, I’m very surprised there’s been no additional hype on it… do you think it’s because it’s already sold out and there’s no need to really stoke more interest?
@@freebehindbars8654 oh I know. I was just expecting Harley to do more with Press bikes like they did with the sportster s, pan am, and the touring ST models. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I haven’t seen anything out there post launch.
@@freebehindbars8654 agree. I preordered the LST and I’m just eager to see some thing new on it. Would have been nice to have included it with the press event for the touring models.
Thanks for watching. HD does it’s press events in a scheduled manner. Once HD starts inviting journalists to ride the Low Rider ST you’ll see a bunch of people releasing content on it. I’d guess you’ll see a bunch around April. Like other people have said the bike isn’t shipping to dealers until April
I am on an 80 CI EVO...and I ride aggressively. Can't wait to try one of these 117s. Good video, I like the breakdown and comparison to the other offerings in the line.
Good to know that they mess with bikers in Cali. too not just here in Philly. Usually they leave you alone if you're on a Harley since you must be a badass. If not that's what those gun pockets are for.
Another great video- I watch your reviews (whether I’m in the market for that ride or not), because the quality and content is SO good. HD should totally subsidize you- even if only to pay for a video editor (which I’m sure is a HUGE energy/time drain). Keep up the great work- I look forward to every new video!
Thank you for the comment. Yea, editing is a huge time drainer. Maybe one day I'll pass that work off. It would be hard though because editing is so much of the vibe of the video. I can't let that go!
Thanks for the review video Matt! I think the SG & RG ST's are cool and have their place in the market, but that style isn't for me. I'm more of the SG special guy, main reason my wife likes to ride with me. Someday I plan to get a new SG special, but for now my 10' SG does the trick!
Just curious. According to HD website, lean angles for both the ST Road Glide and the Road Glide Special are both 32/31 deg. Is this a mis-print, or are both models equally capable? Thanks!
You mentioned shocks are better than the SG special!! How good are they, is it going to be like the RWD R/S-1 or we need to change them for better riding style?
The standards sell better because it's roughly 5200 bucks cheaper. The specials were a great buy when they were roughly 2500 more but not anymore. Especially when you can add the radio for around 800 bucks and abs for around the same
Love your videos!!! Wish I could buy a road glide special, limited, or st from you guys. Still undecided.... your videos make me wanna buy them all. By any chance... would you be able to ship it to Hawaii? The dealership here is a fricken rip off.
My fav video breakdown of the ST models…def played a role in me picking up a RG ST for myself. Lol On another note…does can anyone tell me what sunglasses Asevo13 is wearing?!
Matt, how are you? Do you know if it's possible to install the same rear shocks the STs have on a 2022 FLHT without modifying the exhaust? I see that the STs still have two exhaust pipes, like the other touring models - I'm really trying to jump on that lean angle :D
I just bought the ST and i’m 6’5” tall and 300 lbs. I am replacing my seat and then the bars for apes. I’m a bit crammed up in the bike and my shin hits the air cleaner elbow lol.
@@MattLaidlaw The bike is a lot of fun though still. I traded my 2010 deluxe in on the ST, before that bike I had sport bikes, so I missed having more lean angle than the deluxe provided.
@@MattLaidlaw I ended up doing a Mustang two up seat to have my son be able to go on rides with me, but when he’s not along for the ride I sometimes sit back on the passenger seat going down the highway lol. I’m sure it looks goofy, but I can really stretch out that way and it’s pretty comfortable.
Obvious Q: 2 up touring on the ST what would it be like? Suspension too stiff? I’d replace the front fender with a wrap up type, more protection from flying objects to cooler. 2 up seat, pegs. Detachable trunk with back rest. Seriously what do you think Matt? 2 up touring on the Road Glide ST a good choice?
That would only ever be an optional extra and it would cost a fortune. I think Matt was saying the seat has extra support in it that makes it higher, so maybe try putting the Special seat on the ST, or go aftermarket.
Somehow there is NO torque cam kit for 117 from MoCo (SE). Only power kit. When I ask S&S, they also told me torque cam (465) would not really benefit 117, so they recommend me power cam. (475) Now you guys are talking about torque cam. Q1. Do you find any torque cam that works good? Q2. Is there any light that fills the gap next to a tail light? According to the website there is NO lighting kit fit to these gaps. (I try Limited / CVO rear lights)
Does the Road Glide ST have mid controls like the Low Rider ST, or are they forward controls? I’m 6’4” and test riding the Low Rider bothered my knees and hips.
Thanks for watching. I don’t know if we we will the iron 883 this year or not. It will depend on what other stuff we have. Yes, I’ve reviewed the bike in its current state multiple times so I don’t know if we need to do it again.
Now we need a Road King ST. 🤙🏼

I designed and marketed the quote HEAVY BREATHER....and before Harley called it the HEAVY BREATHER.....it was call the Forcewinder...
Interesting.
As the song goes. "If you've got the money honey, they got the time" 😉
As always a good video, I was thinking of buying a St now I know the facts that it would take some work to become a true performance bagger, Thanks. Asevo what are those shades you have on, I want a pair!
thank you sir! The shades i was rocking is the "lazer face" by Heatwave Visual
Where have you been? The Low Rider St hasn’t hit show rooms and it’s been talked about everywhere.
@@freebehindbars8654 oh I know. I was just expecting Harley to do more with Press bikes like they did with the sportster s, pan am, and the touring ST models. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I haven’t seen anything out there post launch.
They won’t be out until April so you’ll see more on it
@@freebehindbars8654 agree.
Bought one in gunship on Monday. I’m going to break it in down here at Daytona!
Thank You Matt Always a pleasure to watch your videos very informative
Huge fan of the content you put out. Love the new 2022 street glide ST in gunship gray.
Thank you! And thanks for the comment. Team Street Glide!
Great vid and great perspective on the ST models. Thanx
I am on an 80 CI EVO...and I ride aggressively. Can't wait to try one of these 117s. Good video, I like the breakdown and comparison to the other offerings in the line.
Thanks man. Thanks for checking out the video and for the comment. 80 cI evo is legendary.
Dude! Best review ever, amazing job!
Another good review. Exciting new models. Love the cvo roadglide limited
Excellent. Smooth ride. Style and machine maintenance cut above.
Awesome video man ! Looks like such a beautiful ride.
Streetglide ST is great... after you change the seat, suspension, Bars,tyres...
Thanks for the review video Matt! I think the SG & RG ST's are cool and have their place in the market, but that style isn't for me. I'm more of the SG special guy, main reason my wife likes to ride with me. Someday I plan to get a new SG special, but for now my 10' SG does the trick!
MATT! AT SOME POINT COULD YOU DO A VIDEO ON THE ROADKING IN CHROME..PLEASE??
Yes, I have some Road King videos that are a duo video of both the special and a standard
Thank you Matt Greatly appreciated 🙏
Just curious. According to HD website, lean angles for both the ST Road Glide and the Road Glide Special are both 32/31 deg. Is this a mis-print, or are both models equally capable? Thanks!
You mentioned shocks are better than the SG special!! How good are they, is it going to be like the RWD R/S-1 or we need to change them for better riding style?
Absolutely love your reviews!!!!
I think they look good and getting the 117 is a plus. You have any idea if CARB will ever allow the 131 in Cali?
6'4" ride ducati desert sled. Never ridden a bagger or cruiser. is the road glide comfortable for tall riders?
Another awesome video Matt!
Thank you!
The standards sell better because it's roughly 5200 bucks cheaper. The specials were a great buy when they were roughly 2500 more but not anymore. Especially when you can add the radio for around 800 bucks and abs for around the same
Yea, it just depends on how much you favor that 114 engine. A lot a guys also really like the black trim
@@MattLaidlaw I have a 2018 RGS in wicked red and love the bike. I loved the color and like it better with black trim
Matt how do you like splitting lanes on a road glide ? I can do it fine on my Road king with apes . Does the fairing hit truck mirrors?
Hey Matt, is that an old sweater? The eagle with orange sleeves is wicked?
Thanks for the info Matt,What are your thoughts on the 107 to 119 stage three kit?
It’s a great upgrade. I’m thinking about doing it myself.
Love your videos!!! Wish I could buy a road glide special, limited, or st from you guys. Still undecided.... your videos make me wanna buy them all. By any chance... would you be able to ship it to Hawaii? The dealership here is a fricken rip off.
Great content as always 🤘🏾🤙🏾. Still researching before I buy my first Harley/first bike
Thanks for doing your research here. Thanks for the comment
I'm 6'5, a little bit worry about the forward facing intake will against my leg, does it bothered you?
My fav video breakdown of the ST models…def played a role in me picking up a RG ST for myself. Lol
On another note…does can anyone tell me what sunglasses Asevo13 is wearing?!
Harley-Freaking-Davidson 🤘⚡️🤘✨✨✨✨ outstanding!
Great review.
Sick sun glasses for some sweet bikes 🤟
Matt, how are you? Do you know if it's possible to install the same rear shocks the STs have on a 2022 FLHT without modifying the exhaust? I see that the STs still have two exhaust pipes, like the other touring models - I'm really trying to jump on that lean angle :D
Which of the bikes Road glide or street glide Is better at deflecting the with from you face and helmet?
Awesome bikes road king st now that would cool.
What about the infotainment system…r there different ride modes?
I just bought the ST and i’m 6’5” tall and 300 lbs. I am replacing my seat and then the bars for apes. I’m a bit crammed up in the bike and my shin hits the air cleaner elbow lol.
Yea, you’re a big guy. For long legs you’re gonna press up against the intake elbow.
What kind of sunglasses did Andrew have at 5:30 look sick lol
Great review Matt. I want one.
Matt! I’m too short for the RG ST. I’m 5’8” and can’t flat foot it. HD needs to lower it at comes to a stop. What do you think?
That would only ever be an optional extra and it would cost a fortune. I think Matt was saying the seat has extra support in it that makes it higher, so maybe try putting the Special seat on the ST, or go aftermarket.
Been waiting for this review! Yeah!! Thanks Matt!
Thanks for checking it out!
Matt, why does Harley insist in keeping the stock windshield on the road glide? It’s useless. Besides for looks of course.
Does the Road Glide ST have mid controls like the Low Rider ST, or are they forward controls? I’m 6’4” and test riding the Low Rider bothered my knees and hips.
Excellent! Review! AWESOME bike!
I’m not a fan of the touring models, but the Street Glide ST looks sweet. Looking forward to the 2022 Iron 883 and 2022 Low Rider ST review & ride.
The Iron hasn't changed...that smaller displacement RevMax entry-level sporty can't come soon enough.
@@stevem4783 I know, but Matt and Crew still did a yearly review of it. Since I am an owner of one, I enjoyed watching them.
Thanks for watching. I don’t know if we we will the iron 883 this year or not. It will depend on what other stuff we have. Yes, I’ve reviewed the bike in its current state multiple times so I don’t know if we need to do it again.
@@MattLaidlaw Give it a go. As you know, it may be the last ever Iron coming out of production. You could give it its deserved farewell😉
